Great surgeon....my bypass went wonderfully. Appts are very full...takes a while to get in to see him and even longer to schedule surgery.

My first impression of Dr Jones, Is he seems to know what he's talking about. Very knowledgeable and told us everything, not just the good things. His office staff is very good and kind, no matter how many times you call their office there always helpful and nice. My surgery date is scheduled for July 30th. I have only met with him so far one time. My opinions of him or strictly my opinion only. He strongly emphasized aftecare. He said it is up to you how well you do after surgery. You must follow the guidelines of what you can eat, and you must walk, a long with a whole list of do's and don'ts after surgery. I will update more information as it comes.

He was very knowledgeable and understood that i was in the medical field as well as having a personal history with a previous type of gastric bypass that was done to my mother in the mid 80,s. The staff are friendly and in no way make you feel uncomfortable they also go to the mat with the insurance companies for this surgery. He provides 2 years aftercare appointments as well as a support group and if for some reason an intussusception happens he is there to talk and treat you

I finally met Dr. Jones today, he is WONDERFUL!!!! He is very friendly and informative. I am now 100% ready for this surgery. He was very forthcoming, and answered all questions. He addressed the risks as well as the benefits of this surgery.
I found out that Dr. Jones is the PRESIDENT of the American Baractrics Association!!!! I also found out that in almost 3,000 surgeries, only 2 of his patients were lost. Now, I know that 2 is toooooo many, but the odds here are GREAT!
Dr. Jones' staff were all professional and quite nice. They seem to know "their" business as well as being very efficient.
I can't think of anything that I didn't like about Dr. Jones, other than there is only ONE of him! LOL He is very busy, and in very high demand. I guess that comes with excelling in your field.
On a scale of 1-10, I would have to rate him "Top of the Line" with a number 10.....

Dr. Jones, is really a caring doctor, he made me feel important from the begining. He has been very supportive all the way down this journey. He seems to be on top of the latest information. I would rate Dr jones at the top of the list he is just great, and get this once a year he invites all of his patients to his home for the Christmas party how nice is that.

Will meet personally with him Tues. Feb 19th
will fill in update
I met Dr. Jones, he is wonderful. He has been doing the open RNY for many years and has a very low morbidity rate. I think he said he has been doing it 15-20 years and has lost 2 patients to pulmonary embulisums.
First impression was that he was very knowledgeable, went through benefits and risks of surgery. His staff is soooooo nice, all of them were sweet!!! This thing I like least is the wait for a date, but thats with anybody. He emphasized after care quite firmly. He wants to see you pretty regular for 2 years and then once a year after. He wants you to be walking 2 miles by the time you go in for 2-3week ck up. They also have support group that meets once a month. There is a bariatric center with clothes swap, and specialty work out machines for MO patients to fit on. I would rate him a 9, because no one is perfect.I'll write more after surgery.

Dr.Kenneth Jones was very warm and understanding. He appeared to genuinely understand my problem with weight. His office staff is wonderful , efficient, and ready to help at any time. The only problem with Dr.Jones is there is only one of him, there needs to be about ten running around Shreveport to do all he has to do.
Future patients should know that it takes a while to get an appt. and set up surgery. But it will be worth the wait.Yes , he emphasizes aftercare.Part of his fee, is the two years of aftercare.Yes, Dr.Jones addressed the risks.
I would rate him a 12 on a scale of 1 to10.I worked for a general surgeon for ten years and I know how great surgeons should be and he is definitely one.

Dr. Jones has the most kind and witty personality. I had to go to him for a second opinion in order for my insurance to approve my surgery. I liked him so much that I had the insurance indicate him as my primary and my original doctor as my secondary opinion. My impression with Dr. Jones has never changed. He has always been up front and given the good and bad information concerning risk factors, so that my decision was based on all of the facts. His office staff is unmatched. Sue, Kim and Francine are the best. Anytime you need to call, they will help out and not make you feel stupid for calling. There is not one thing about Dr. Jones or his staff that I didn't like, except that I hadn't met them sooner. Future patients should know that Dr. Jones really cares about their success. He will fuss at you if you don't follow instructions, but he will also praise you for a job well done. Overall, my experience with Dr. Jones has been a joy. In my experience Dr. Jones' bedside manner was the primary issue for me, which helped me further my inquistion of his surgical competence. HE IS THE BEST!

Well i finally got to see Dr.Jones on the 15th of October.I must say that he impressed me very much.Dr.Jones was very knoledgeable and awnsered any questions that i had,he also took the time to explain every aspect of the surgery to my wife witch eased her mind because she was very worried about it.Dr.Jones won my approval and i would recomend him to anyone thinking about this option.

Dr. Jones was so comforting. He really seemed to feel the pain I felt about my weight. He was very sympathetic instead of looking down on me. He listened to all my questions and was just a very nice person.
His nurse, Sue, was wonderful. She was very patient and always took the time to talk to me.
Dr. Jones very strongly suggests you keep you appointments and always, always, take your vitamins. He explained all the risk factors but I was encourged with his track record.
I just think he's great and I always give him a big hug when I see him, because he helped to give my life back to me.
