Kenneth Jones Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr. Kenneth Jones, Shreveport, LA. Have appointment 12/1/99 to meet for the first time. So far, staff had been very helpful. Dr. Jones was highly recommended by several other patients of his and also by another surgeon I personally know and an attorney who is an obesity advocate. Will give more info after my appointment.

12/5/99 Had 1st consult appt. Dr. Jones was very down to earth, pleasant man. Seems very knowledgable and very willing to answer my MANY questions. He seemed impressed that I had done so much research & asked if I had been doing a lot of research on the internet. He first gave all the good points & benefits of the surgery, compared the RNY & Gastroplasty (he does RNY) and then mentioned all the risks and was very frank when I asked about previous deaths of his patients. He has done over 1700 and had 1 death due to pulmonary embolus. He further explained that this was many years ago & now there are newer, better techniques for lessening that risk. Overall, I was very impressed.

I had already been told many good things about my surgeon, and I have to say I agree so far. He was very informative and. His staff was extremely helpful. As of yet I have found nothing I dislike about either he or his staff. His emphasis on aftercare was strong and quite structured. All risks of the surgery were discussed both on a group and a one on one level. I realize that my experience is just beginning.
