The first time I meet with Dr. Jones he was very nice and layed back. My impression of him only got better with time. His office staff was nice also. Dr. Jones himself is a nice person and honestly there was anything that I didn't like about him. I think if anyone else is looking for a really good Dr. right here in La. Shreveport that he would be the best one. He tells you right up front what to expect after the surgery. And he really emphasizes aftercare. Because that is the most important thing. He has a real structured aftercare program. He was right up front about the risks of the surgery what could happen. All the pros and cons of the surgery. I would rate him over all as a real good doctor and I would recommend anyone to him. I think surgical competence and bedside manners are good. And doctor Jones has both of them. Personally I have nothing bad to say about doctor Jones. He is a real nice person and doctor if we have any questions we need to ask all we have to do is call his office and our questions will be answered. Over all Dr. Jones and his staff are the best.

I totally agree with the other assessments of Dr. Jones. I am still in the process of trying to get my insurance to pay. I have heard that they are considering it for our next year. If this turns out to be true hopefully I will be one of the first from this insurance that Dr. Jones gets to do. I have already called his office and the secretary told me I needed to wait until I had something in writing from the insurance company, but to call her back as soon as I did get this.

I have several friends that Dr. Jones has done surgery on. They have all done great after surgery, with no complications, and have lost the weight that they wanted to loss.

I hope that this will be the same for this time next year.

My Doctor's name was Dr. Kenneth Jones in Shreveport, LA. I always felt he was a great doctor with a great attitude about the success rate of his surgeries. His staff was wonderful and helped me alot. Future patients should know that he is a good and competent doctor. HE puts great emphasis on resting about 3 weeks and then getting into light excercise to help speed up the weight loss. He is very much structured. HE advised me of the risks and I was not surprised by anything that happened. I think he was a great doctor and not only was his surgical technique great, but so was his bedisde manner.

Dr. Jones is a good old country boy..puts it to you plain and simple tells all the good and the bad..His office self has been very helpful in answering my questions and easing my mind..I do wish they would fight a little harder for approval with companies hard to deal with..i am going to be self pay but still fight the insurance company BCBS of TX..my husband pays nearly $5,000 a year for this insurance policy and it is sad that medicaid covers this surgery so simply..anyway will pay ahead then battle them I don't want to wait 2-3 years and battle insurance company and still be overweight...update more after surgery

My first impression of Dr Jones, was his age, about the same as mine. And I noticed right away that his is not a skinny minny. I really feel that people who have never struggled with weight have not real understanding of weight loss problems. Dr Jones is not obese, but not skinny.

He is very soft spoken and has a S. Louisiana accent and a very friendly manner.

His office staff was friendly and very helpful.

He discussed the risks of the surgery very fully and freely but as for the at home aftercare there was little verbally but adequate information in the printed handouts.

I was impressed with him overall and found that he had good reasons for doing the open procedure and choosing not to do the Lap procedure.

I felt that he covered my health history fully in the printed forms we filled out and then he asked furthur questions while consulting privately. He asked questions that I had not thought to put down on the written questionaire, and they were very pertinent factors in the health picture.

His surgical skill will need to be top notch to meet my needs, and due to the very low complication rate in his 2400 surgeries, I believe that he must be skilled surgically, and I feel that his bedside manner will be very good as well. Both are important for me and I will need emotional reassurance when in the hosp and when at home and trying to go back to work.

Have only met him once and that was with three other consultants, so I didn't get to know him very well. He seems to be blunt with his answers and I like a person that doesn't try to color things.
I have had really great conversations with his nurse Sue.
She seems very understanding.
He seemed very layed back the second time I met him. Didn't seem very concerned about anything. Probably because I had studied up so well on the surgery and new alot of the statistics.

I first Met Dr. Kenneth Jones, Shreveport La, in July of 1998. He was one of the most down to earth doctors I had ever met. I did not pursue the surgery until June of 1999. At that time him and his staff done all the dirty work with my insurance and didn't have any problems. I would recomend him to anyone considering WLS. I am writing this the day before my surgery on September 22nd. So I will update it when I get home from my hospital stay. Wish me luck

It is now Jan. 25,2000 and I am 4 months post op an the care I have been given by Dr. Jones and his staff have been the best anyone could wish for. The after care has been excelent and It is the first time in my life i don't mind going to the doctor. I have lost 109#'s and not having any problems thanks to the fine care given by Dr. jones and his staff.

Dr. Kenneth Jones in Shreveport, La is a very
nice, helpful doctor. He answered all my questions
and I never felt like I was being rush through
the process.

I feel the same way 6 mos. post-op

Everyone in his off has been friendly, helpful
and interested in me.

The only complaint I've had was his assistant
who saw me first after the surgery. Dr. Jones had
to go out of town for a day. I felt the assistant
was in a hurry to get out of the room and wanted
me to hold my concerns for Dr. Jones.

I didn't know about the LAP surgery beforehand.
I think I would check it out if I had it to do over.

Two yrs of aftercare are included in his fee.
So I think they are very interested in it.

There is no support group set up...I would like
to have that now that I see how helpful they can be.
I intend to mention it to him when I go back.

He told me there was a 1% chance of death and
that since I was having a revision it was a bit
higher.

I would rate him excellent

I wouldn't get to the surgery if the bedside
manner were poor *S*

My doctor isn't in the list, but he's Dr. Kenneth Jones in Shreveport, LA. During the initial meeting, everything was explained thoroughly, and I felt secure with the amount of information that was presented. Dr. Jones has a complete package, his fees include 2 years of followup visits, which I thought was a good thing. The office staff is very helpful, and answered all my questions quite well.

After the surgery:
Dr. Jones proved himself to be a compassionate and caring man, always has time to sit down and answer all your questions and concerns, in terms that you can understand. He makes sure you totally informed and comfortable with his explanations. I'm very pleased to be a patient of his, and hope to continue our association for many years to come.
