My surgeon gets an A+!! He was absolutely wonderful. Dr. Batay-Csorba took the time to make sure that I was doing well before he released me. I am so thankful for that! He was kind and caring and made sure that I was not sent home too early. The support group meetings that his facility sponsors are great! They provide friendship and tons of support. If I had to do it all over again I would choose Dr. Batay-Csorba and the BTC staff without any hesitation.

My first impression of Dr. Batay-Csorba was actually pretty good. I had read all of the comments that were posted on this site and I honestly had some reservations at first. Dr. Batay-Csorba turned out to be very patient and considerate. He was very through in his explanation of the surgery, the importance of post-op care and after care. He also emphasized the importance of the patient and what role we must take in the success of the surgery. Dr. Batay-Csorba appeared to have great knowledge in bariatric care and seemed to have a wonderful personality. Overall, I would rate my first visit with him a 9. ( He will get the extra point after the success of the surgery!!!!)

The nurse who had taken my vitals and some prior medical information was completely unfriendly. She appeared to be abrasive to some of the other staff members at the office. She also made me feel as if my visit was a chore for her and that she really would rather do something else. She also appeared to look at and talk to the receptionist in a demeaning manner as if the receptionist was incompetent.

My first impression was that of a man who knows his business. He is very methodical in the way he talks to you about the procedure, but pulls no punches. He was very willing to listen to me and my husband and answer all questions. He (BTC) has a wonderful program. I was very impressed with how thorough he was with pre admission testing and even more impressed with the after care program. Dr. Batay stressed the importance of attending support group meetings prior to surgery and what a blessing they were! I have to say I find him to be very very competent in both his surgical skill and his bed side manner. I saw him every morning while in the hospital and I felt very well taken care of. The surgical staff is awesome. I didn't meet anyone there that didn't treat you with great respect and care. I have never had better health care! The office staff sometimes is a little cool, but it's a busy place and they are always busy, so I understand. Overall rating 1 - 10 with 1 being bad ... 9 ... Great surgeon and great clinic!

I am now 6 weeks post op and I have had several questions and regardless of the time someone is at the phone at BTC and a Dr. has always called me back. I feel my after care has been fantastic. I saw Dr. Batay at my 6 week visit and he was smiling and happy to see me doing so well. He really is a great surgeon.

I transfered my files to the new BTC office much closer to my home. My new surgeon is Dr. Shram. I had my 3 month check up with him and he was very nice, great bed side manner and appears to be very knowledgable. I've not found any surgeon at BTC to be anything less.

I really liked Dr. Batay-Csorba, my first impression was a good one. He was eager to answer all of my questions and to help me understand my fears. My impression is still the same because I have only seen the doctor once so far, I have my pre-op appt. on Nov. 15 so things may change. The office staff was very nice and helpful, the nurses on the other hand weren't very nice at all. They didn't talk to you at all, they just rushed through there tests and sent you on your way. Future patients should know to bring all there questions prepared, Dr. Batay is a busy man and if you don't have questions prepared and your just thinking things up he gets a little impatient. I will give you more information regarding myself and Dr. Batay as soon as I see him. Good Luck!

Dr. Batay was a professional and caring doctor. His bedside manner was a bit brisk and straight-forward, but he listened and took time to answer questions and to be encouraging. At first, he seemed a bit stand-offish, but over time he warmed up a little and was never unpleasant or aburpt. He seems very knowledgable about many bariatric issues. And, as I have had no problems since surgery, and since others have had good experiences as well, I am of the opinion that Dr. Batay-Csorba is a VERY competent surgeon. When discussing the surgery, he was clear about risks vs. benefits and what I could expect health, eating, and physically as I changed after surgery.

The staff at Bariatric Treatment Centers is very caring and respectful of large people, as the Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery is ALL they do. As part of the staff at BTC, Dr. Batay-Csorba places a high emphasis on aftercare in the form of support group membership, regular lab work and follow-up visits. The staff also encourages questions via phone-calls, e-mail and mail.

Well, I finally had my surgery (8/30/01). Thank GOD! I didn't have it done by Dr. Lutrzykowski. I wanted to have my surgery done by a doctor at the Bariatric Treatment Center. The reason being is they have a complete and dedicated center. I was very pleased with my surgery and my post-surgical stay. The nurses were great but the nurse’s aids were outstanding. They made all the difference. If anyone would like to talk to me about my whole experience please email me at cshale@netzero.net

When I walked into Dr. Lutrzykowski's office for the first time I was very disappointed at what I saw. His office looked like he just opened it for business. His aid (Jane) was the only person in his office beside the him. She was doing everything, from answering the phones to setting up the exam room. You could tell that she was definetly in need of some assistance. The doctor and his aid were very nice to talk to, they were kind and supportive. Dr. Lutrzykowski answered all of my questions with up front answers. And as time went by I began to find myself liking what I was hearing. You could instantly see that he is a calm man by nature. Dr. Lutrzykowski informed me that the only way that this is going to work is if I attended the support groups. He stated that the people in the support groups can help you after the surgery just as much or if not more than he can. To sum it all up I think he is a competent doctor who cares for his patients. But, his office is in the need of revamping. Im not saying that his office is not getting the job done. On the contrary after taking to several of his post-op patients they were all pleased with his office. Im trying not to judge a book by it's cover.

After meeting with Dr. Batay I felt very confidant with my decision of going ahead with the surgery. His personality is very proffesional and to the point. I was well informed and he answered all the questions I had. As far as the staff, they seemed a little in the clouds about a few things. But over all I am glad I chose Bariatric Treatment Center. I'll give more Info after the surgery.

I really like Dr Batay-Csorba. He was very direct and to the point. Dr Csorba explained everything in entirety. I really did not have alot of questions because I had researched so much. I was in the room with him for a total of 15-20 minutes. So really have no strong feelings about him. I am aware due to some questioning of his perspective of his work that he has been doing surgery like this for a few decades now. I found that he feels Bariatric surgery is the most rewarding of all surgery he has done. I also found out the he teaches the procedure to other doctors. So I do feel confident in him. That was a very important factor for me- trusting or at least feeling like I can trust the surgeon.

I have only met with Dr. Batay-Csorba one time thus far at my initial consultation.
He was very professional as well as informative. The surgery was explained to me quite thoroughly. The office staff was wonderful and especially friendly. Everyone was helpful when answering my many questions. Dr. Batay-Csorba does emphasize aftercare and does provide you with a structured aftercare program.

This surgeon took his time with me at every appointment. He explained in great length what to expect. His office staff was wonderful considering that at that time, they were in the midst of moving into another facility that is still undergoing renovation.
Had trouble reaching scheduler for several weeks but finally got an explaination from their customer service that had to do with rescheduling others first to accommadate renovations to the surgery ward. After that it was clear sailing.
They do schedule follow up appointments and call after you get home to see if you have questions. The dietitian spends a lot of time and also calls to check on your progress.
Dr. Batay-csorba is very skilled and that is more important to me than bedside manner. However, his bedside manner was fine.
And by the way, I am a nurse so I expect alot from the Hospital as well as staff and I was not dissappointed.
