Dr. Batay-Csorba was a very knowledgable person and helped me with any questions I had. He was very kind as well as everyone at BTC. I had a most wonderful experience with BTC and would do it again if I had to! Aftercare is very important I was shown/taught the best way to keep my health as well as how to avoid the problems I might have to address. I would rate my experience at BTC probably about a 9.25 - It was most enjoyable and I have no bad things to say about the office visits or the hospital stay. Everyone at both places treated me with excellent manners and knowledge of work they did.

That he did vascular surgery in Canada prior to his affiliation with BTC, was impressive to me. He has a quiet-spoken demeanor and is confident in his knowledge with regard to the RNY procedure and its complications, risks, as well as benefits.

My appointment is 8/02/01 I'm so excited. I have a week left so I will update ASAP.

I met with Dr. T_Batay-Csorba yesterday and I must say that he was very pleasent. I thought that he was going to be non-emotional at first however I was wrong!
He was very informative and he answered ALL of my questions. I had four pages full of questions and everyone that I asked he answered!!! I thought he was very professional and I do feel that he is very qualified and skilled to perform this surgery on me. His staff was great.
So overall I was very pleased and their aftercare program is VERY important. I would give Dr.Batay a 10 overall!!!! And a doctors bedside manner and surgical competence are both very important to me.

This was my second consultation with Dr. Batay-Csorba. My first one was about one and a half years ago. At that time, I wasn't ready for the surgery. Now, I am ready. I liked Dr. Batay-Csorba. I felt he was very knowledgeable and answered my questions. That's it so far.

I really liked Dr. Batay. He was kind and gentle and I could tell he was very knowledgable. The office staff at Bariatric Treatment Centers has been very friendly and supportive, right down to the security personnell and the patient conselors. Although Dr. Batay-Csorba seems "hard to talk to" to some, I really did not get that sense. In fact, he was very helpful and willing to answer any questions I had. Dr. Batay is very concerned about his patients and is very focused on after care as well as the actual procedure. It seemed clear to me Dr. Batay was a very competent surgeon. However, I am speaking from first impressions as I have only had one consultation. I did find it challenging to get him to "not be serious", but I really don't see that as a negative.

Dr. Batay-Csorba was very thorough and answered all of my questions. He was not out to "sell" the surgery, just make me as informed as possible. I felt let down at first, and thought that maybe my decision was not right for me. But, after I spoke with the patient advocate, I felt much better, and carried on with my plans.

Dr. Thomas Batay-Csorba is a caring doctor who answers all questions and treats you like an individual instead of just another obese person. His office staff is great with patients and are very helpful. The Dr. was not afraid to look you in the eye when he talked to you about the surgery. He is a surgeon that I would recommend anyone to see. He is one that I would trust my life with.

I went in for a consultation with Dr. BC today. I like him. I let him go through his presentation. Afterwards, he very patiently answered all of my question or told me how to get them answered. My son and husband were with me, and he answered their questions as well.

I especially liked his answer about why he does this kind of surgery. His answer was that WLS patients are the happiest patients he knows and he gets a lot of job satisfaction from helping them. I thought it was a very sincere answer.

He gave me his card and said that I should call him if I have any more questions.

He and the patient representation went over much of what would happen post surgery. No more aspirin and no pop for 6 months. WOW.

There was one drug that my PCP had prescribed for weight loss that he wanted me to discontinue. But, he wanted me to talk to her about it first.

I really liked him.

The BTC hospital is obviously old. It is the old Beyer Hospital. However, there is a log of remodeling going on.

It was so nice to see chairs that were meant for people of size.

There are support groups and I plan to visit them.
