I met Dr. BC at a short appointment, for he was chosen as my substitude surgeon. My former surgeon moved away. Dr. BC repeated much of the information I received at the first appointment and elaborated on it. My personal impression is, that he is very experienced. Since I didn't get a chance to react to some of the issues he brought up, I wrote him a letter to get things straightend out. I have not heard back from him yet. The office staff was polite and helpfull, yet hard to get a hold off later.
Dr. BC gave detailed instructions about the surgery and aftercare. He stressed the risk of the surgery repeatedly. I feel that I can not rate him yet, for I don't know him well enough to do so.
I wrote him a letter with all the questions that I felt where left unanswered. He called me back and we had a very nice converstion, in which he set my mind at ease about all the issues I had been concerned about. I feel confidand about his abilities now, and go into surgery calm hearted.
-January 18,2011 -It has been 11 years since he did my surgery here in Ypsi, MI. I've lost 224# since. Had 1 intestinal closure/blockage and was told I'm 'working' on another one, where the old scar was. I was told this may be a risk. None of the surgeons here want to do what is needed, nor does the Bariatric Center where I had the surgery take my insurance. I was told by local surgeons, that would take my insurance, to enjoy life while I can or die on the table. So... this is a risk, nothing to do with this fine surgeon, who I can only reccomend! But, something to think about. Intestinal closures are possilbe at old scar sites.
I would not have had my surgery with anyone else. He was very professional and had great bedside manner. He educated me well with all the risks of surgery and made sure that I was 100 percent prepared before he gave me a date. He is awesome!!! I am so sad that he left BTC in MI and moved to Arizona. But am so happy that I had him as my surgeon before he left. I am very lucky!
The dr was fine, the staff was incredible pre-, post-op and subsequent visits. I am a bit concerned now that I've gained some weight back and the nutritionist and dr (a new once since Dr. B-C moved from Ypsilanti, MI office to Scottsdale office) seem to think it's only due to lack of being on track, don't think there's any cause to pursue avenues to rule out enlarged stoma; fistulas, etc.
I had a consult with Dr. Batay-Csorba at the Barix Clinic in Scottsdale. He and the staff were very good at what they did. Everything was explained to my complete satisfaction and they all gave me ample time to ask any questions I might have, as well as any questions my daughter had since she had come along for moral support. Erica was wonderful in explaining what to expect also. Toni did my intake and she was extremely effecient. I have spoken to Sandy on the phone a couple of times also and I must say that she is the most encouraging person I have ever met!
Now that my surgery is over and I am recovering I have to say that Dr. Batay-Csorba is the very best surgeon ever! He is a very quiet man but very compassionate and obviously wants to see me succeed! The entire staff at The barix Clinic in Scottsdale was wonderful - I had 1 on 1 nursing care the entire time I was there and everyone was terrific! I am so thankful for my decision to go there!
At first, I thought he was quite cold and detachted, but he got the job done. I hav no complication during my surgery and I have taken off 140 pounds. I had my surgery at Bariatric, when they were in Addison, Michigan. Now, Dr. Batay is in Arizona, but when he was here in Michigan, he did a wonderful job.
I can't say enough about Dr.Batay-Casorba- He is the best. He cares and answers all my ???? and he realy injoys helping us with are wls problem.
The Batrix center and staff were great. It was just me and anuther(sp) ladie so we had are own nurses. The beds were a regular hospital beds but that was ok. They really pushed you and that was good.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA+++++++++++++++++ for this Team.
And the after care is the best the nutrionist called to make sure I doing what I was suppost to.

I liked his gentle nature and his complete knowledge of the surgery. My impression only got better as time went by because he was so patient and explained everything to me. His office was clean, cheery, and his staff was so genuinely concerned form y comfort and saftey. I think there is nothing I can say disagreeable about this doctor or his staff. They emphasized aftercare as a huge part of my success, and advised me to contact them at anytime during my post-op time. They have a very structured aftercare program that is layed out in book format and they are there to answer questions round the clock.He informed me of all the risks of the surgery and let me know that I am very much in controll of how well I do, as long as I follow instructions. I have followed instructions to the letter and never had any complications at all.I liked my doctor and experience so well that I referred my best friend to them and she has an appointment in October. I would have to say that in my doctor, both were great!
