David Fallang Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

so far I have"nt been to his office[go oct.24]I've just been to 1 meeting. HE and some of his staff go over everything from start to finish.he seems very confident about this type of surgery. I was lucky, one of my friends went to him and had this done . i've also met a couple of ladies who has this surgery by him. I know what I'm getting into. Surgical competence and bedside manner count.He seems to have both.This is going to be a long trip but it will be worth it for my health.

I decided this summer to switch doctors from Dr. G. Kerlakian to Dr. M. Fallang. Nothing negative against Dr. K, but Dr Fallang has so much more experience doing bariatric surgery. I have my pre-op tests, my surgery consult, and my information session scheduled on Thursday, Aug 29th. The office staff has ben excellent to work with. They took care of all of the insurance paperwork and called me back immediately (the next day) when the insurance approved the surgery. Dr. F's office has a good aftercare program and I am so far very impressed with their compassionate care.

9/23: I met with Dr. Fallang last Thursday. He spent over a half hour with me in my consultation going over all questions I had and discussing my specific health concerns with him. At no point did I feel rushed. He was very positive about me being a "good candidate" for surgery. I am hopeful for terrific results post-operatively.

MY FIRST INPRESSION OF HIM WAS A GOOD ONE. HE SEEMED TO KNOW WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT AND HE HAD A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR.I HAVEN'T BEEN TO THE OFFICE YET TO MEET MANY OF THE STAFF BUT I TALKED TO THEM ON THE PHONE AND THEY HAVE BEEN VERY NICE.HE ADRESSED THE RISKS OF SURGERY BY JUST COMING RIGHT OUT AND TELLING YOU WHAT THEY WERE IN A SLIDE SHOW.

My first impression was that he was very clinical. But did that change. I love him, he has the best sense of humor. One of the girls in the seminar ask him "When can you have sex after the surgery?" He said, "I can have sex as soon as I am finished operating on you". It was great. The office staff is spectacular. I haven't found anything that I don't like about him. He will spend all the time you need to answer your questions. It was great. He tells us over and over again how important it is to maintain our checkups. He is very clear about the risks, and he is very open about the few that have died. He also shared with us the current law suit that was brought against him. Out of 1-10 scale I would give him an 11. He is great. Surgical competence of course is best, but to have both makes it even better.

Dr. Fallang saved my life. Seriously. Before he ever operates on anyone they attend a 5 hour course that he conducts teaching you about all the procedures that are out there and which one is best for you. Afterwards, he took the time to answer any and all questions asked of him from the group. Not only does he address all of the benefits, but spends just as much time on all of the risks. After I left I felt like I just attendend RNY 101, but hey, it gave me more confidence in my decision...and especially Dr. Fallang. His staff really cares. If I have any questions I don't have to wait for my next appointment...I don't have to log on and ask someone that doesn't possibly know what they are talking about, I can call his office and one of his PA's will call me back directly with the answer. They also make you feel so good for your success. His bedside manner also shows that he is there for you. Dr. Fallang does about 8-12 RNY's a week. This is all that he does. Nothing else. Other doctors in the Tri-State area rate him number one in his field. And I do as well.

I had a group session with Dr. Fallang of Middletown, Ohio on 7/25/02. It was very helpful and informative. I have spoken with post-op patients of his and they have nothing but good to say about him. He seems to really know his stuff and also has a great personality. I'm very glad that I had the opportunity to attend this session.

7/15/02 Just got my call and I am scheduled for the next seminar on the 25th!! Pam, the patient coordiantor is fantastic, once you connect (took less than two weeks, but seemed like a lifetime!). Hoping Dr F lives up to his reputation!

Met with Dr. Fallang on May 16th for the informal consultation meeting. There were about 50 men and women at this meeting. He was very impressive with his knowledge of the surgery. Not just the surgery that he will be doing - but also with the various other surgeries that are available. He was able to give up the pros and cons with each one. Then he went on to explain why he choses to do the one that he prefers.

His office staff was available during the session to process insurance cards and information. Very knowledgable about the insurance companies.

Afterwards, Dr. Fallang made himself available for personal questions for others. He has eased my concerns about the surgery and I feel that he is exceptional with his aggressive attitude.

I look forward to pre-op testing on June 19th when I will meet him one on one. This is a very exciting journey. Glad I bought the ticket.

I thought he was very caring he took plenty of time to explain all about the surgery the risks involved Idid not feel rushed he answer any questions I had.What I liked most about him was he was not in a hurry to get out after the information session he talked to anyone who had a question and was the last one to leave.Ithink he could use a better aftercare program,but all in all I would rate him very competen he has done over 1400 surgerys,as for bedside manner that remains to be seen

I met Dr. Fallang at his informational meeting and was very impressed with him. He answerd all my questions that I had written down while he was speaking. He's very layed back, but I like that. My surgery went very well, and my scar looks perfect. He uses a skin adhesive that protects the inscion and you need no dressings. I felt very safe in his care.
