I had heard good things about Dr. Fallang before I met him. I have only seen him at his informational seminar. He spoke to us for about 5 hours. He is such a charismatic, dynamic speaker that it didn't even seem like we were there that long. After the Q/A were done, he stayed around to talk to any of us personally that wished to speak to him on a more personal level. His staff has been wonderful to me. They have handled my questions with kindness and ease.
Dr. Fallang is a handsome, confident, witty man. He led his entire 5 hour session himself. He taught us why we are obese, explained WLS through the years and how our lives would be after the surgery. He then led a Q & A session as a group and then stayed after to answer one on one questions. He was going to take a couple of us on a tour of his facility, but was called away, so his lovely wife took us instead. We saw pre-op, recovery, O.R., patient rooms and the offices. His staff is very friendly and warm. They feel like a family and welcome you with open arms. Dr. Fallang addressed the risks of the surgery nationwide as well as his own numbers. He readily admitted that he is not perfect and has had fatalities. I would rate his a 10 out of 10 pre-op. I feel completely confident with him! I iwll let you know how I feel post op!
POST OP REVIEW: Surgery went well and I was well taken care of. Dr. Fallang's post op dietary reccommendation leave something to be desired when comparing it to the extensive research that I have done. I URGE you to do your research as to what a post op needs nutritionally rather than what you are told by the office. It is not adequate for a post op, unless you want to get sick and have all of your hair fall out. PLEASE, PLEASE do your research. Your life depends on it.
Well, Dr. Fallang isn't at Middletown anymore, he has his own surgery center at the hospital that used to be St. Elizabeth. My first meeting with him was at his information seminar. He talked for over 5 hours. He is a charismatic public speaker and he totally put me at ease. He answered all questions easily and took his time explaining things. He was very open about some patients suing him, and why. He was also quite upfront about surgical risks, no sugar coating. (Which I appreciated) His office staff have been wonderful to me, and very patient. He works closely with his PA, Troy, who is also very kind and knowledgeable. For my Pre-op appt, I spent one-on-one time with his PA and Dr. Fallang. I have had two friends who also had their surgeries with Dr. Fallang and have been happy with the results. Hope he is at his best October 3rd!
Went to his seminar and it was helpful, he did not mince words about the complications that could happen. He was available when I had questions post op. He was on call several times when I called at odd hours. The office staff was helpful with any insurance questions ect...
I would rate the doctor as very good, and the physican assistant was also very helpful.
My first impression of Dr. Fallang is that he is very knowledgable in the type of surgery that he does.
His office staff are great, they are friendly and helpful, they did all of the work with my insurance co.
I think bedside manner and surgical competence are both very important in any surgery that you are having. I found his bedside manner to be warm and very caring and never doubted his competence, ever.
My experience with Dr. Fallang and his staff were awesome!
I cannot say enough about the nursing staff, I have never seen a nursing staff as efficient as these ladies are.
My surgery and recovery was awesome and I am now reaping the benefits of a very explored decision to have surgery.
This is only a testimony of my experience with Dr. Fallang and his staff, I do not guarentee that yours will be as successful or as positive. Each person is different and I relied heavily on God for my outcome, not Dr. Fallang.
Dr. Falling was without a doubt the very BEST surgeon one could hope for. He has a 5 hour orientation class before surgery and if you walk out of there not knowing what you want to know, then he makes sure you do when you go for your one-on-one with him and his PA Troy. You know all the potential issues and potential problems as well as the the pluses. His aftercare is somewhat run entirely by the nursing staff, but I had a rather potentially serious problem after surgery with my lungs, and he came to talk with me as soon as I requested and stayed with me until I not only felt comforted and confident that the course of treatment would be effective.
Dr. Falling's office staff is nothing short of incredible. No matter how many times I called and asked questions or voiced concerns, they had the answers and were sooooo nice!!! A special thank you to all of them!
The nurses who work for Riverview Health (the medical facility where Dr. Falling operates) are as good as one can ever hope for. Even though I had a tough time with IV's, they did their best to make it as painless as possible. And the aftercare nurses are teriffic. If it wasn't for them, I would NOT have been able to get through my post op. I am NOT exaggerating here. My nite nurse De stayed with me LITERALLY holding my hand during a couple of especially bad nites, and encouraging me through all the rough spots. I cannot recommend a surgeon or facility support staff that would be better!!
He is no longer practicing at Middletown Hospital, he has his own surgical facility called Riverview Health Center and the Surgical Weight Loss center which is located in Elizabeth Place. Office and surgery center are both there, on two different floors. The staff is very open about giving tours of the unit.
He was very personable, he gives a lengthy, very complete information session which is required before any date can be scheduled. So far, my impression of him has remained very positive. I feel that he was thorough in looking at all of my medical records and reviewing them with me and discussing the possible things that could come up during surgery. His office staff is also very thorough and keep in contact. They have been very discreet. Aftercare is not emphasized from a support standpoint, but diet is explained thoroughly and appointments are made for 1 week post-op and I believe group sessions at 2 weeks and 4 weeks. As I said, risks of surgery are addressed thoroughly in the information session and individually, he is very matter of fact about problems, which I feel is a good thing. I haven't experienced his surgical competence yet, but I will soon, I have heard that it is excellent.
