My fisrt impression of Dr. Fallang was i really liked him. I thought he was very knowledgeable about the surgery. He came across as very matter of fact and straightforward. The office staff was very helpful and very polite. I still hold Dr. Fallang in very high regard even though i do not continue to see him.

We have been to Dr. Fallang's preliminary meeting, to discuss the surgery. He seemed very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the whole procedure. My wife's surgery date is 08/12/02. We are looking forward to it very much. So far, Dr. Fallang and his staff have GREAT!

It's been over a month since the surgery was performed. Everything went exactly like it was supposed to. Dr. Fallang came in every day and was very caring and professional.

It's been 5 months now, still think our Doc is the greatest. Aftercare has been terrific.

Dr. Fallang is a great guy. he is comical and will answer your questions till he is blue in the face. He is very honest, he will let you know upfront people do unfortunately parish from this type of surgery...
He will help you in any way you want. His staff also is a great help. If you call them they will talk to you right then and there and let you know. Everyone at his office is knowledgeable and they all care about helping you. YOU CAN TELL...
His staff will also take care of everything for you. Insurance, work related items. They help you plan everything in advance and they tell you what you will need and what you wont need.
Dr. Fallang and his staff have to be one of the best practicing group out there. I have heard nothing but positive things about him in the whole time I have been thinking of this surgery. Thanks Dr. Fallang and staff for helping me reach a goal in my life...

I met Dr Fallang at his info session on 5/2/02. He was very informative and very nice. I am looking forward to having him perform my surgery.
And his office staff are the best, most friendly people I have ever met. I haven't even met some of them yet and they have already bent over backwards for me to try to get my surgery approved. I met a Diane and she has is wonderful. They are very busy but they make me feel like I am there only patient.
Dr Fallang performed my surgery on 8/13/02. He is wonderful and I love him for helping me. He doesn't even know the impact he has made on my life.He saved my life! He is a surgeon who truly cares for obese people and he doesn't try to "rip them off" by making them by nutrition supplements before and after their surgery. Unfortunately, because of malpractice insurance costs, he is no longer going to accept my insurance because they don't even pay him a third of what it costs to perform the surgery and that means, less obese people can get his outstanding care. He never sent me a bill either. I pray that God takes care of him and his practice because without him, I wouldn't be loving myself and my life.

I went to the information meeting in Middletown. Dr Fallang was really informative and sincere person. He stayed around after the meeting to answer questions.
He seemed like a really nice person.
Dr. Fallang was a wonderful, funny, and very king person. He talked with my husband for 45 minutes after my surgery, answering all his questions.

I do NOT recommed him!
Follow up care..or the lack thereof was awful.
I had a severe infection for 4 weeks with the fevor reaching 104 and I called over 15 times to speak with the doctor and NOT ONCE did the doctor return my call.
I have never seen nor have I spoken to my doctor since the day of my surgery (5/28/02).
I understand from several in the medical field..of which I can not verify..that Dr. Fallang has many current lawsuits against him and that he will not be practicing in the state of Ohio because he can not get medical mal-practice insurance.

I had my pre-op visit with Dr. Fallang on 5/2/2002 and I liked him very much. His office staff was very nice, too. Him and his staff seem up on everything about the WLS. Several people in my town have had Dr. Fallang and he came highly recommended. He lets you know at his 5 hour seminar all the pros and cons of the surgery. Even my husband stayed for the seminar and was impressed. Had surgery on 5/14/2002 and Dr. Fallang was great. His follow up care is great, he and his staff really care about his patients. He has a support group every other month called HUGS. I plan to attend the one in August.

Dr. Fallang's office was very professional. Before scheduling a consultation, they went through the insurance hoops and garnered an approval. I began the process in May 2002 with the plan to have the surgery in the fall. My insurance company approved me right away. I elected to have my surgery 11/4. I attended the doctor's informational session on 10/3....he gave a 4 hr presentation, outlining anything and everything one could possibly want to know about the surgery. I am a nurse and had already done my research. He proved to be a very professional and caring individual....I was not necessarily looking for the best bed-side manner, I want the guy who has done the most cases.

I found him to be a caring man. My impression has not changed. His staff is very friendly and knowledgible. I don't think at this time that there is anything I don't like about him. He is very quick in scheduling surgery once you get your approval. He puts a big emphasis on after care and he does have a program. He lets you know as with any surgery there are risks and he explains them well.I think what impressed me most was that he is so honest about his prior cases even when they didn't turn out so well. Not many surgeons will do that.During the siminar he was asked what his motivation for going into the field of gastric bypass was. He said that there is a real need for surgeons in this field and the patients are the best. He said that a patient for gastric bypass are there to achieve a goal and are happy to get the surgery. The outcome is great and when you see a person who was misrible because of weight issues start to lose the weight they just start to come alive. He shows you that the benifts out wiegh the risks by far. I would rate him as outstanding in the field. Both his surgical skills and his bed side manner are great.

I have not meet the doctor yet and have only spoken to the front office. My first impression of the front office is...the word tired comes to mind. Over worked or under payed-still, they have been very good to me. I'm sure they get a thousand phone calls a day from people like me that probally drive them nuts since I am very detail oriented. So I can understand. Anyway, surgery date is 10/21/2002 and my first info meeting is on Sept 5th 2002. We'll see how he is......I went to my info meeting on Sept 5th and there is no doubt-you walk away feeling you got Gastric Bypass 101. He seemed like a nice guy. I think those in the past who said he does not have a good bedside mannor are mistaken. He is "nice". He does not have the greatest personality that I have ever seen. But I'm not looking for a friend when it comes to a surgeon. I'm looking for someone that knows what they are doing and for someone to admit that he can not do something well and something els better. I think those that think little of Dr. Fallang got stuck on him being blunt. "Ie: How did we get the way we did? His blunt answer: It is because of our glutonous." Is he wrong? No. I appreciate his honesty! So far everything is going well. My first consult is Sept 19 along with my hospital testing. Then the grand day is Oct.21st! until next time>>>>>>>>Well today is october 4th. I met the doctor and got a little more aquainted with his office staff on the 19th of September. So far I hate him! Just kidding. It's actually the exact opposit. I really like him and his staff. I am extremly lucky to have a great surgeon and a great staff directly behind him that doesn't hinder him with any rude attitudes. Nor does the staff build him up higher than he belongs. You know...False hope that he is better than they say he is only because he pays their bills. They seem real and so does Dr. Fallang. With a great surgeon and a great staff the only thing they can do is compliment each other. So far my only opinion of Dr. Fallang and his office is nothing but positive! 17 more days to go!!!!!! Yipee!!! Can't wait. I doubt that my opinion will change about him but whatever happens I will always be honest. Until next time......
