David Fallang Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Fallang is my surgeon and I am scheduled for surgery 5/7/02. My husband and I were at his information session and both of us were very pleased with all of the information he provided. We have been to other sessions with other surgeons, and Dr. Fallang's was the best. His office staff are very friendly and have been extremely helpful to me. I was pre-approved with Bariatric Surgery Center in Columbus, Ohio, but found out my insurance would not pay for hardly anthing, so I knew several people from work who went here and within about a month, I was approved through my insurance with Dr. Fallang. His office staff was very helpful in answering all my questions, even when it seemed I called constantly. I am beginning to get a little nervous with the date approaching so quickly. I know a lot of people who have had this type of surgery and I have seen their weight fall off. I am looking forward to this myself. I can't wait!

Dr. Fallang seems very compassionate and everyone in the office has been extremely helpful.

Dr. Fallang presented a five-hour educational program on this surgery. He appears to be very caring and supportive. He also will very willing to share his past experiences and set backs.

His office staff appeared to be very professional and wanting to take their time with each person and not rush for sake of time.

After care was one of the key points of his presentation. He stated that this must be a team effort and we both must be on the same walk to a new self. He also stated he has an aftercare program every two months and welcomes each of us to join them. I did recently attend one of the support meetings and it was very helpful.

He also spoke at length about the risk of this surgery. When questions were asked he addressed them.

He appears to be a very professional doctor; I just wish I did not live 4 1/2 hours away. I look forward to having him work with me in the creation of my new self.

The only negative I can think of was proptness. But in this field of work it is easy for my self to overlook this issue, an hope he will countinue to be this caring and taking his time with me.

Dr. Fallang is effecient, has a great bedside manner, he is courteous and competent. He and his office staff have been wonderful, especially if you consider the heavy patient load they have. My only advice is to take responsibility for educating yourself about this surgery, aftercare, and emotional issues. This is discussed in detail at the info session, but there is so much to learn. Just continue to educate yourself so that you will get the most from this surgery. Overall I thought Dr. Fallang was great and I would recommend him to anyone.

I went to Dr. Fallangs information session on April 4th. He was very friendly, and took time to talk to everyone that had questions. My first appointment with him is on May 4th. His office staff seem very friendly and always seemed happy to answere any questions I had.

I went to a 5 hour siminar March 21, my Mom went with me. He seems very competent. He explained the risks, different types of surgery. Explained why laprascopic cost more to do, and why he prefferred open. I liked the fact that he doesn't use NG tubes or cathetars. He wants you up and walking after surgery as soon as ya got ta pee! As a nurse, I know this is a very good thing to have a patient do! Less chance of Deep vein Thrombosis,Pulmanary Embolism, or pneumonia!

My first impression of Dr Fallang was that he is a very confident and cpmpetent surgeon. The Dr. was nice and very pleasant. He held a very informative session about the surgery and left nothing out. Dr Fallang covered all the risks and benefits of the surgery.

If you would have happened to choose another Dr. he showed no hard feelings about that decision. He want's patients to be healthy and happy.
If I had to choose between surgical competence and bedside manner,i choose the first. I'd rate the Dr a 10 on surgical competence. Don't know about his bedside manner yet. His office staff was nice, also. They have always returned my calls promptly.

I have not met Dr. Fallang yet. I have been been in contact with his staff. I have been working with Paula getting all of the needed information to my insurance. She has been wonderful at making calls and following up on the insurance. She is very prompt at returning calls. So far so good.

I met Dr. Fallang at an informational meeting. He seems very cable, understanding, and knowledgable. I have my pre-op consult on 3/21. The staff has been a tremendous help. They are very busy but they do always return calls and are eager to help in way they can. You have to also be determined it would be easy to get lost in the shuffle.

My first impression of him was that of confidence!I immediately liked him!He was honest about the risks involved and very informative at the 5hr. session.His staff has been tremendous!--with dealing with my insurance,taking care of all appts.,pre- admission testing and through it all have been truly "caring"!!I couldn't be in more trusting hands I feel than those of Dr.Fallang.

I went to dr fallang because of all the good things i've heard about him. My mother in law went to him and she really liked him. His staff is really great they helped me every step of the way. he told me things about the surgery that other drs. didn't tell there patients. He did go into details about the surgery that some may not want to hear. I found it interesting, but like i said some may not want to hear this. He has a sence of humor which i liked.
