I have not met the doctor yet. Ida is very nice on the phone.

Dr. Fabito has an incredible sense of humor. I was very comfortable with him right away. He has been doing wl surgery for over 25 years. He was very informative and explained the procedure in great detail. He was very open and made sure that everyone understood the risks that were involved.

My husband and I met with Dr. Fabito for a consultation on October 15, 2001. He seemed to be a very nice man. We drove for 3 hours for the consultation in St. Louis to find out the Doctor wasn't even suppose to have been there. But luckily for us he was there. We were the only people to meet with him (the consultation was suppose to be a group consultation to ask questions and find out about surgery). The whole consultation was only about 20 minutes long. I go back on November 6, 2001 for my pre ops and then on November 14,2001 for surgery. These are my own oppinions of the doctor and in no way am I making a statement about how he maybe with other people.

Dr. Fabito is a very personable man. He is no doubt also an excellant doctor. He done the surgery for Andy Rodgers, Andy looks and feels great!
I have not dealt with him long enough to state anything about a change in impressons.
His staff and I have conversed on the phone several times, they have been great to work with, very compitant yet compassionate.
Aftercare is just as important as the surg.
He was very open with the risks of surgery and the risks of not having the surgery. Very willing to answer any questions!
At this point, I can't say anything negative about he or his staff, they have all been very good to work with.
As an individual, looking into this, you MUST may almost daily attention to getting this done in a speedy manner, sometimes one gets left in the smoke of all others unless you follow thru with everything, oneself.
Don't just put the ball in someone elses court and expect them to carry it, their workload is to great to keep tract of all of us.

I went to an Information Seminar today and I did not yet meet Dr Fabito but did meet some of his Staff Members. Everyone there is so friendly and nice! They were very patient and answered everyone's questions in great detail and we discussed each question and I feel they were very thorough in explaining the whole process to us from what will happen after today to the surgery date and even after surgery. I am very pleased with everything that I learned and feel very comfortable with this staff! I look forward to seeing them again on my hospital stay. Thanks so much everyone!!

I have spoke with Ida in Dr Fabito's office several times as well as Chris Clittik(sp) in the NewStart program and although very busy they are always friendly and helpful! Very patient in answering all of my questions each time I need to talk to them. I have finally got my date scheduled and I am very happy and thankful to everyone there so far! I feel very positive that this is gonna be a good experience for me!

Nice and friendly, very busy office and I knew that going in so ,no surprise at long waits in his office when I had a appointments. Once I had insurance approval the new start staff really did not help me all calls and questions were answered by his assistant Ida. I heared alot of other post-ops complain about their hospital stay at south point and the nursing staff. I am a lpn and realize how busy working on the floor of a hospital can be, I did not have very big expectations and was not let down. My only disappointment was I was expecting a personal consultation with a nutritionist and I did not get one. She simply walked in my room and gave me a preprinted book of sample diets and foods to avoid.

I actually spoke or went to a seminar with a different surgeon. The way the program works whatever surgeon does the seminar gets you as a candidate. However, Dr. Fabito was a charter member in the College of Bariatric Surgeons and has been very highly recommended. He is also the Director of the Hospital based program I am in. His nurse that did my pre-determination letter has been extremely helpful. I have been a little pesky to say the least. Anyway I believe I have been well informed of risks and I thing surgical skill in this case far outweights bedside manner. Bedside manner is however a nice benefit. This sounds bad but I won't meet my doctor until my pre-op testing and consult with him.

8-18-01 Met Dr. Fabito on Monday 8-13. I must say he is very funny. So it seems I have found a surgeon that is competent and has a good bedside manner. It was a group appointment as I expected after reading other peoples accounts that have had him. It was no problem though he has it down so well that he answers questions before you ask. I feel very comfortable with him doing surgery.

I have not met him yet, I will on Sept. 7th. I have heard only good things about him and his staff. I have a video about the New Start program and he is in it. Also I have done research on the web about him, and I'm very impressed.

I have only met with him one time in a group.
Although I will say in that short time I was impressed. He answered all of our questions and gave us answers to ones we did not ask. I love Ida his office nurse, she is very helpful and never to busy to answer any questions you might have. Dr. Fabito seems to emphasize aftercare alot and the new start program is wonderful. Dr. Fabito also made us aware of all the risk. Thats all I can say for now Ill update later.

I saw Dr. Fabito in his office for an informative talk with 6 other patients. He explained the risks, his thoughts and feelings about the different types of surgery, and he answered our questions cheerfully and completely.

I have great confidence in Dr. Fabito. He has been doing this surgery for many years, one of the first few surgeons to do this kind of surgery. He said he could do this proceedure in his sleep.

Dr. Fabito's nurse, Ida, is a gem. She is very busy but never too busy that she can't answer your questions, etc. Very nice and very helpful.

I would highly recommend Dr. Fabito to any patient considering this surgery.

He is one of the best!
