Dr. Fabito did my surgery in 1995...I found out a few weeks later I was pregnant...I became really ill and I lived in Decatur Illinois.....I was loosing weight too fast and he was right there....consulted with doctors over the phone....I was loosing about 60 lbs a month...we didn't think the baby was going to live. Around my 8th month she wasn't breathing so they enduced labor I have a beautiful baby girl and I thank Dr. Fabito for saving me and my child. If you would like to see my before and after picture and my baby's pic email me and I'd be more than happy to share any info with you....Ps...Dr. Fabito's English ain't that great but hey!!!!! He takes care of business...I'm the hardheaded type and I haven't been back to see him since I live in Tennessee now but I would like to thank him...I have maintained my weight however I still see a nutritionist because I sometime start loosing and can't stop so they changed my goal weight to 150...anytime I get below that I have to go back in......I feel alot better with the weight off...and only bad thing I have to say about the surgery is that I am anemic now and I'm a cheap date I'm told because I only eat a couple of bites and I am full.....
Met with him as a group that are to have thier surgery
next week(10-2). He has been involved with this (RNY)
since the 60's he states that he is always tryung to
improve his methods, does not care for the LAP
type of surgery as of yet (keeps patients under
anethesia to long), and does only proximal style.
His staff is very nice and helpful. The only
prolem I have is he has an accent and with my bad
hearing I have a hard time understanding him.
He seems very dedicated to his work and patients.
This is my initial perspective of him with what
time I did talk to him.
He was very nice and he answered all of my questions.
My impression has not changed any, I think that he did a wonderful job.
His office staff is very friendly and helpful.
The thing I least liked about him is that it seems like some times he was to busy to answer some of my questions.
He does a great job at letting you know what to expect before and after the surgery, and that he answers all of your question.
He emphasizes aftercare alot he lets you know what to expect at the post op visit.
Yes he does you see him for the first 3 months and then once a year and from there after.
During the preop he let us know exactly what all the risks of the surgery was.
I would rate Dr Fabito a number 8.
Both Great.
Dr.Fabito is a very busy man. He performs Rny at three different hospitals and he has three offices. He has performed over 1000 surgeries since 1976, so I feel confident of his ability. His staff was friendly but he needs bigger offices, it was packed. But it was great to talk to everyone about their experiences. And all seemed satisfied. My surgery is not until Oct. 10th, so I can't say any more about him until after that date.He does have an aftercare program that I plan to join after surgery.
My doctor was very good at explaining any questions you have. He has you come in before the surgery for an interview so you get to feel at ease right away. Ida who works on staff is also very nice and helpful.I would tell someone that is thinking of having the surgery to have him be their surgeon. He's the best!
The only thing I don't like is where his office is since he has evening hours.
I met Dr. Fabito on July 3rd. He was very nice. He came in talked to me about the procedure asked if I had any questions he answered them all straight to the point. We talked and we even laughed a little. I was very impressed by him. He had already done 2 surgeries that morning before coming to see me but he made time to meet me because he knew I would be at the hospital for my pre-op. I thought that was very nice of him he also impressed my husband which was a big plus.
