Dr. K is wonderful. I liked him right away. The clinic was efficient and friendly. My patient counselor is a bariatric patient herself, 2+ years post op. My husband and I never felt rushed and didn't feel that any of our questions were bothersome. Each question was answered sincerely and honestly. I have praises so far for Barix Clinic and would recommend anyone to them.
I throughly enjoyed my consultation as well as my pre op testing. I brought my 2 wacky friends to my consult and they kept me from being nervious as well as being a second set of ears when meeting with Dr. Kaczmarski and his staff. Everyone was perfessional and able to answer all of our questions, and we had alot!
Dr. K was reserved as he spoke with us. He spoke about all the info we were hoping he would address. He gave the impression of a skilled and caring professional, just what I want in a person I am intrusting with my health, and my life.
Throughout my interaction with the Barix Dr.s and staff the importance of aftercare has been echoed by all. I feel very confident that there are people and resources available to me at Barix to insure I meet my health goals in the safest possible way.
My first impression of Dr. Kaczmarski was that he was very professional. He made sure I understood everything that he was telling me and had no problem answering any of my questions...no matter how silly they were. He made sure that I knew all of side effects and what could and would happen and set clear expectations for me. Right before we (my husband and I) went in to see him, we were informed by the staff that he was in a silly mood and that he was out in the hallway earlier doing magic tricks. I didn't get to see the silliness or any ofthe trickes but maybe I'll get to see one eventually.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and I got to meet one of the nurses who happened to have had the surgery. (This is the way they do it here...you meet with the doctor and then a member of the staff who's had it) She was the best!! She was straight up all the way around. She sugar coated nothing and told me just the way it is. She was funny but serious. I look forward to having my surgery at the Barix Center.
Dr. K was wonderful to work with. Upon first meeting him, I thought he was sensitive and personable. He answered every question and explained all procedures and risks most thoroughly. Throughout my surgery stay he had a great bedside manner and was great with keeping my husband in the know. Well done Dr. K!
I had my consult with Dr. K of Bariatric Treatment Centers on May 18 in Langhorne, Pa. I live in s. jersey so this was a 40 minute drive, but well worth it. The facility is beautiful and the staff was excellent. First I met with a nurse who took down my med. history, then the surgeon came in and spent an hour talking to us and answering my questions, most of which he had already answered. We then met with a post op patient, she was also wonderful. Here is where you actually get to ask the tough questions like what really happens when you over eat, can i see your surgery scars, how much weight have you gained back. I feel completely confident in his abilities as a surgeon and that seems to be the consensus based on other patients reviews also. Hopefully, they will be on top of things regarding the insurance approval process.
dr.knor is a wonderful and kind man. he really cares about his patance. he has had over 17 years of surgery experience. he is open to any questions...and if concerned about you will phone you himself. he is very quiet, but has a subtle sence of humor.he is also straightforward and will tell you like it is..i highly highly recommend him.
I was impressed with Dr Kaczmarski,He explained everything in detail and even reassured me when he told me I couldn't have the lap done but would have to be cut, something I did not want. Have had surgery on the adbomen before and am aware of what the recovery intales but he made me feel as if I could do this, so did his staff they were very nice to me and made me feel at ease I was very nervous going into this and I had a 3hour drive to think about it. So I would give him a very good rating so far but I have only had a consult with him I will know more when I see how his staff and he handle my case and how soon we can get though all this red tape. How well they keep me informed on whats going on with everything so ,I don't have to worry about how things are going and whats next. And of course how well he does at the actual surgery, but right now I have a good feeling and confidence about him and his staff hope they don't let me down well the staff and the Dr.Kacmarski let me down and to top it off I just read a glowing review under his name that said I had the surgery and I did not Hows that for false info my insurance denied me and the staff didn;t have time for me are to help me in any way
My first impression of Dr. Kaczmarski was that he was exceptionally skilled and competent in the field of bariatric surgery. He was very direct and thorough in his presentation of the information about the surgery and he took considerable time answering all the questions my husband and I had. Dr. Kaczmarski also carefully described and discussed the risks of the surgery. I felt his requests for presurgical clearances were based on my health and circumstances and not a "jumping through hoops process." Dr. Kaczmarski spoke at length about the aftercare program at BTC and the importance of the medical, nutritional, and emotional follow-up.
When we left the consultation, my husband and I agreed that Dr. Kaczmarski had impressed us very positively. We also agreed that he seemed like a very nice person but we wondered whether his bedside manner would continue to be "all business." If I had to choose a preference between surgical competence and bedside manner, I would clearly choose surgical competence; however, I do not believe that anyone should have to sacrifice one for the other. I believe that both are critically important components of successful surgery and recover.
After the initial consultation which was in November, 2003, I did not see or have any contact with Dr. Kaczmaraski until my surgery in March, 2004. During the interin, I wondered whether he would even remember me; however, any concerns I had were immediately dismissed, when Dr. Kaczmarksi greeted me in the pre-op area. He was warm, supportive, and very positive in his belief that I would do very well in surgery. After the surgery, Dr. Kaczmarski was very attentive, supportive, and invested in my recovery. I could not have asked for anything more than I received. I would recommend Dr. Kaczmarski to anyone who is interested in WLS.
