I will refer to Dr. Kaczmarski as Dr. K as it is shorter and easier to type. DR. K was very nice and polite. He answered all of my questions as well as my husband's and never once rushed even though their were other people waiting to see him. The more time I spent with Dr. K., the more relaxed I became with him and was feeling more at ease.
The office staff was very polite and helpful. The secretary gave me all of the forms tofill out and offered assistance. One of the office techs obtained my vital signs and discussed her surgery with me during this time. I became tearful at times and they were so kind to just listen.
I honestly can say that there is not one thing at this time I dislike about Dr. K. I felt he was very thorough during the consultation process.
Future patients should have a list of questions prepared as the Dr. will answer all of them for you. He is a very calm and layed back type of person. He will make you feel very comfortable during your consult.
We discussed aftercare in regards to follow-up visits at 2 wks., 6 wks., and 12 wks., and then every 1 year. I am not sure of all the specifics, however,I do know you meet with a nutritionist and others prior to your surgery. This is done when you go in for your pre-op stuff.
Dr. K gave me all of the risks associated with the surgery procedure as well as mortality rates and complications. This is scary, however, I appreciate that he was upfront and very honest with me. He also answered my own personal questions related to my fears of having surgery.
Overall, I would rate Dr.K. 95%+. He left a great first impression upon myself and my husband. My husband was very positive and UP about me having the surgery after our visit.
Bedside manner as well as surgical competance are both very important to me as a patient and also because I am a nurse. If I had to choose, I would want someone who knows how to do the procedure. Bedside manner is also very important as a patient needs extra TLC from the Physicians as well as nurses, techs, etc.
Although these are my own personal opinions, I would say I have made the right choice in choosing Dr. K. and the BTC in Grove City, Ohio.
I had my first meeting with Dr. Kaczmarski and I found him and his staff to be very warm and caring. I felt extremely comfortable with all the staff. I'm now waiting on insurance approval but they didn't seem to think it would be a problem. They have an insurance dept that handles getting all approvals. If all goes well I should be scheduled for surgery in June. They have an aftercare program that includes doctor visits and consuling as well as groups with other patients. My husband and I spent about a half an hour with the surgeon going over the procedure and all the possible risks and then we spent about 45 minutes with a previous patient who answered more questions and gave her view of life before and after the surgery. The only negative thing about the visit was that we waited along time in between checking in and seeing the doctor. He was behind due to high volume of patients. At least he didn't rush us to get to the next person he took all the time we needed.
Dr. Kaczmarski seemed very nice and understanding. His staff was very helpful nd friendly, and VERY supportive. I really don't know alot more, but I will be able to tell you more after my surgery! (Which by the way---I CAN'T WAIT!)
Now that I have had surgery, I can't say enough good things about Dr. Kaczmarski! He was very thorough and even fixed a stomach hernia that I didn't know I had and told me that he also found a cyst on my ovary, for me to call my gynecologist! He was very helpful in answering any and all questions nd came to visit me every day in the hospital, always smiling and patient with me. He and his staff sent me flowers in the hospital, which I thought was very nice. His hospital staff was WONDERFUL! The sweetest gentlest and kindest nurses I have ever seen! My entire experience was so positive that I will never be able to thank Dr. Kaczmarski or his staff enough.
My first impression was that he cares for his patients and is very thorough in explaining this procedure and how my life will change.
I have had plenty of experiences now to form my impression of Dr. Kaczmarski. He is a wonderful surgeon and is very meticulous in his work. He does things a little different from the other surgeons, but I think the things he does differently are what makes him a great doctor. I can't thank him enough for getting me through this safely and for being so good to me!!!!
I would rate Dr. Kaczmarski on a scale of 1 to 10, an 11!
He was very personable. He was patient and readily answered any question I had. He didn't laugh at anything I asked. He is new to the treatment center at Grove City, but explained that he had 15 years surgical experience. He seemed like he really cared. His staff impressed me too! The gal that took my blood pressure had lost 120 pounds and had pictures to show me, and the gal who took my picture and talked to me about aftercare of the surgery had me rolling with laughter. She stated she was about the same body type as me and had the surgery herself 5 years ago. She is soooooo tiny and had lost 140 pounds! I can't believe I asked to see her scar! She showed me and then went on to explain about obesity being a disease, and that people don't ask to see an open heart surgery scar! Well, darn it I wanted to see it! ha! ha! Of coarse a bunch of blubber (that you can't hide under clothes) Is a heck of alot uglier than a scar, don't ya think? Ha! ha!
