first time I saw him I thought he was the Medical Asst. He was very short and just went over the details of the surgery.I would like other options for a surgeon the other Dr. here in Ocal does not accept workman's comp. so I am limited to Dr. Overcash. I don't think he has a very good aftercare program especi''y on what you can and can't eat.
My husband and I met with Dr Overcash on May 20th. I found him to be abrupt and to the point, which I need! My problem now is that I have had my psych evaluation and stress test plus given everything their office needs for sending to Blue Cross, but it has been 3 weeks and every time I call, I get the story that they are either correcting typos or something else. Getting disgusted.
Patrice is very nice, but I'm not comfortable with the way this is going. I will call again this week. Please say a prayer for me,,this is more than cosmetic for me. I have degenerative disc disease and have days when I have trouble walking!
I would advise anyone to have their ducks in a row before going to Dr Overcash.
7/9. UPDATE
Within one week, I have been approved, and I'm being operated on this morning. Everything went through very quickly. I'm leaving in a half hour! How's that for a last minute update?? Behind the scenes, Patrice was working hard for me. Please say lots of prayers for me.
My appointment with Dr. Overcash was in February. It seemed to take forever to get everything together for submission to the insurance company. I finally got approval after 5 weeks and my surgery was set up right away (July 5). Dr. Overcash is a straight arrow - no wasting time. I suppose that he assumes that you have done all the research before getting to him. The office staff is GREAT! Always ready to answer questions no matter how trivial they seem to be. I am looking forward to this life change.
I met with Dr.Overcash today. He is amazing
answered all my questions...and he was great with my husband.
Office staff is wonderful..very friendly.
The office was packed..but did not have to wait long to see the Dr.
The very cool thing is the Dr.Overcash comes out to the waiting room to get you...and that
was wonderful..
He was to the point regarding the risks..does not sugar coat anything...and I did not want him to.
Emphasizes aftercare and exercise as key to success .
On the scale of 1 to 10...Dr.Overcash RATES
A 10 PLUS.
I had my first contact with DR O's office staff on April 19, 2002. Patrice was trying to get me in ASAP and offered to make the 1st consult on April 29, 2002 but I couldn't do it that day. So my first consult is May 6, 2002. My journey begins...
June 6 02 - The inital consult was great. He personally comes to the waiting room to get you and he weighs you himself. He was very straight forward, explained all the risks involved and was very truthful about what to expect after the surgery. He stressed that this is a life changing surgery and the decision to have or not to have should not be taken lightly. His staff was very nice, respectful and more than willing to help. The only down fall is that the office gets very busy and the consult itself is very rushed.
6/6/02
I first impression when I walked in his office is that he is VERY busy. My hubby and I waited for over one hour past my appt time.
Dr. Overcash comes out to get you, weighs you and takes you into his office. He goes through the surgery with you, including the pros and cons. He is very up front and dosent dilly dally around. He gives you a chance to ask your questions, so have a list ready before you go because your appt time is very swift...in and out! Overall, he is very confident and a nice guy. I like him alot. He was very impressed that I had all my questions typed up neatly from the computer.
Patrice, Jennifer and Sandy are wonderful! I am now waiting on ins approval, so I am pre-op as of right now.
I had an appointment on 4/25/02 with Dr. O and I was very impressed with him. I liked him right off the bat. He seemed very kind and knowledgable about the surgery. He answered all of my questions and my husbands. We have our own business (landclearing and site work)and Dr.Overcash told my husband he still had his CDL licenses. He still drives big rigs sometime. I thought that was kind of neat that here is a surgeon that is really good with his hands and also does something like driving big equipment and trucks. Anyway I think he is GREAT!!! Also his office staff was wonderful Patrice called my Insurance Co while I was still in the office and she got an approval number right then. Also had my surgery sch. the same day. Its June 19,2002.
