William Overcash Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

My consultation went very well with Dr Overcash.
He was the one who called me and my husband back from the waiting room. He weighed me. He made me feel very comfortable. He was very to the point but joked at times with us too.
He was very to the point and serious about the fact that you can die from this surgery.
He asked the ages of my children,5 and 2.5 yrs. He asked my husband if he could make provisions for the children's care if I died.And he wanted my husband to understand the risks involved. It took him aback somewhat but he later told me that he was behind me in whatever I decided.
Dr overcash explained everything very well. But there were a couple of questions that I didnt get to ask. Only because I forgot my list and I forgot to ask. He takes his time with you and makes sure you understand all the aspects of this surgery.
He also mentioned that this surgery has been known to break up marriages, friends and cause rifts between family members. Because of jealousy. He wanted us to make sure we were ready for the fact that life as we know it now after the surgery will cease to exist.
We both agreed that it would make our marriage better.
Overall, I think Dr Overcash will do a great job on me.
His office staf were as described in previous posts. Curtious, helpful but very busy.

I was really nervous about meeting Dr. Overcash
I was told he was to the point & very short
with his visits. Well I thought he was
AWESOME!!! He was right to the point about
the procedures & problems that could happen.
But as his personality he was GREAT!! He joked
with us & made us feel good about this decision.
I look forward to having him do my surgery. His
office was great any questions & they were
there for you. Only had one problem with him

When I first meet Dr.Overcash I was shocked, I actually thought he was the nurse calling patients back.

My first visit was in July and Dr.Overcash explained "Everything" about this surgery in detail. He answered all of my questions and I was very pleased.
When I sent all the paperwork back to the office (a week later) I was approved in about 2 weeks He has a great staff.

Doctor Overcash is a "10" in my book.

My first consultation with Dr. Overcash is on Firday Dec. 6th that evening, hope things go well, will keep you updated.12-09-02-I had my consultation with the Dr. and I loved him, he was very pleasant and nice, not as all as people discribed him to be. He was even smiling. Not at all what I expected. My husband even enjoyed the visit. He throughly explained the surgery process, what to expect afterwards and the risks. I would rate Dr. Overcash at being a 9 out of a possible 10. Nobody could possibly be a 10 but god himself, so he is very highly ranked.

11/26/02- Scheduled consultation for Jan.13th. The office staff was very nice over the phone and answered questions I had before scheduling.
12/3/02- Called Dr. Overcash's office yesterday to see if there were any cancellations so I could get in sooner. You'll never believe it...I got in yesterday 12/02 at 5:30. Dr. Overcash was very personable and explained everything to me in detail, including risks and complications from surgery. He took about 30 minutes with me and answered every question I had. He explained what my aftercare would be like and that I would have a nutritionist visit me each day in the hospital after surgery and that they would keep in touch with me post op as well.(required by my insurance co.) I've filled out my packet of information and will put it in the mail this afternoon. Once they recieve it, I should have approval within 2-3 weeks!!!

My first meeting with Dr. Overcash was rather short. I really could not remember any questions to ask but he seemed helpful. However, he really made a point of discussing the risks. He wanted to make sure I understood this is not something to be taken lightly, but that it's surgery.

Now that I am approved for surgery, I wish I had asked more questions because I don't even know what kind of surgery I am having.

Everybody at his office has been very helpful, especially Patrice.

Dr. Overcash was wonderful. I feel in love with him the minute I met him. I was so impressed by the way he comes out, no a nurse, to get you for your visit. He weighs you in and he brings you to the room. I have never been placed in a room to sit and what for what seems like hours like other doctors offices. The staff is very professional and helpful, especially Patrice.
I am having my surgery on December 12th so I will do a follow up later. Dr. Overcash does spend alot of time with you answering ANY questions you may have no matter how silly you think they are. I was very impressed by that.

My husband and I met with Dr. Overcash this last Friday. We were both really pleased. I liked him a lot. Felt very comfortable with him and with him doing my surgery. The meeting began with his typical first question re: "Who is going to take care of your kids if you died." He explains that these are things that you need to think about. He explained the surgery, drew us pictures. Went over complications that are possible and what he will do and can't do. We didn't feel rushed. Most of all....We felt very good/comfortable with this doctor. The office was very busy, but the staff was still helpful.

Dr. Overcash was very blunt and to the point, very truthful. This was exactly what I needed. His staff is wonderful. He is very specific in what you need to do before / after surgery. No matter who your surgeon is, please do exactly as what they tell you (that's why they went to medical school). He and his staff work with you on any problems or questions, no questions too small. I would tell anyone who is in the area to use Dr. Overcash. I was and still am thrilled with my care.

When I went to the office for the first time thanks to the website I was prepared for a very busy fast paced office so it was not a surprise when the office was packed. Dr. Overcash is direct and to the point. I’m in the medical field so I’m fine with a doctor who is short on bedside manner but who is a skilled cutter. I had a list of questions that he answered with out hesitation. Although it was a very brief visit I feel that I will be in good hands. The office staff that helped me so far has been great.Patrice is extremely busy but she took her time with me and did not make me feel like I was a bother. I have also talked with Angelina, Madeline,and Kathy B. all were very helpful and kind.
