Robert Shin Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

So far, I really like Dr. Shin. He is very kind and understanding. He took time to answer all of my questions. His office staff are great. He has a very structured after care program. I haven't yet had the surgery, but look forward to dong so.

He is a very caring individual who is genuinely concerned with each and everyone of his patients. He is proud of each and everyone of them too. His staff is extremely helpful and doesn't seem at all bothered to address any problem.

Dr. Shin is a wonderful physician. He really shows that he is there for you and cares for you. He is GREAT all around!

Dr. Shin is GREAT! He was kind and caring from Day one. The staff at Medabolix is great, and their approach is very comprehensive. Aftercare is a big part of their program.

my first impression of dr shin was great he was very kind and he really cares. I am 9 mo. out and he still treats me wonderful he gives all his patients a great big hug every time he sees you. His staff is wonderful and they are always there to help you when you need them. If you are considering wls, dr shin is a great surgon. He doesnt do the surgery and then send you on your way he wants you to follow up with he on a regular basis and he wants you to feel good not just look good so fat% and things like that are a big issue with him. He will be there for you from start to finish and he doesnt hold anything back about the risk he gives it to you honest, no sugar coating! I rate Dr Shin a 100 on a scale of 1 to 10 I think he is wonderful!
I think both of these things are important

I loved Dr. Shin from the moment I met him. He is easy going and takes his time with you in explaining things and making sure that you are okay. He also gives you multitudes of encouragement and makes you feel as though you truly are important to him.

My impression of Dr. Shin has not changes thus far through my journey.

The office staff at Medabolix is wonderful. Everyone is helpful and so lively. They make you feel important and as thought they care. They also remember you each time you come in.

So, far there is nothing I don't like about Dr. Shin.

Aftercare is a MAJOR part of this life change. Any of the staff and Dr. Shin himself will tell you that the surgery is the easy part. The hard part is what we, as patient's, do with it.

The aftercare program is extremely structured. One week after surgery, you go back to him and have the staples from your abdomen removed. Then you will set up your following appointment for 3 weeks after that (your 1 month) as well as an appointment on the same day to see the physical trainer. After that you will go back at 3, 6, 12 months then you are to see them yearly until 3 years out.

I was explained very thougougly the risks and possible consequences of the surgery.

If I had to rate Dr. Shin on a 10 to 10 scale, he would get a 10+.

The surgical competentce anyone can do with very much intelligence, but it takes a special individual to accomplish both besdide manner and surgical competence, as does Dr. Shin.

Dr. Shin is a very caring person. I sense nothing fake about him at all. His sincerity is refreshing. As a RN, I have seen my share of pompous surgeons. You know the old joke about surgeons? "What is the difference between God and a Surgeon?" "God doesnt think he's a surgeon!" I have met with him twice and my opinion has not changed in the least. My surgery is on September 27, and the office staff has really been kind, especially since my insurance denied me the first time and the staff appealed for me and we won. I recieved the approval letter about a month after they sent in the appeal.

First impression was very nice, personable, intelligent doctor. My impression has changed for the better. He is wonderful. His office staff is great. There is nothing about Dr. Shin that I didn't like. Aftercare empasis is a huge priority with Dr Shin. Aftercare is very structured. Risks of surgery were addressed very vividly and honestly. I would rate Dr. Shin and the whole Medabolix Staff a number 15 out of 10. They are all wonderful, caring people. Both surgical competence and bedside manners are wonderful.

Dr. Shin made a great first impression. He is very knowledgable in the field of bariatric surgery. He answered all of my questions and put me at ease with his answers. He was very stright forward and answered each question to my satisfaction.
He and the entire staff at Medabolix emphasize aftercare, which is very structured.
