Doctor Capella is GREAT! He is bery kind, understanding, and compassionate. He took the time to answer my questions and not make me feel uncomfortable. He seems dedicated to his profession (changing people's lives for the better) and is very professional. I trust him with my life and trust he will make it a better one for me. I like that you can ask him a million stupid questions and me answers with professional responses.
Doctor Capella is an angel. He is the most understanding and compassionate people i have ever had the grand pleasure to meet. He is very dedicated to his work and is a true professional. He does not make you feel like a obese loser, he points out your good qualities and assures you that everything is going to be all right, i trust him with my eyes closed. And by the way you can ask him 101 idiotic questions and he sweetly answers your concerns and doesnt rush you. trust me i should know my dad has bombarded him with a million questions!
I have heard alot of good things about Dr. Capella. My very first impression of him was that he had alot to offer. I really liked him from the very beginning and still feel the same way. I liked the office staff and I felt they did all the things necessary to help me along. I think he really understanded my plight and he wanted to help. I also had the experience of watching my sister and my best friend go thru the procedure from beginning to end. I had a little insight of the whole procedure. I can't really say anything else as I have not had surgery yet. I am 2 days away.
Dr. Capella is concern about his patient he give a seminar even before you can make a appointment for a consiltaion. That was a great 1st impression
Dr Capella staff is great, they are always taking my calls ( and i call for everything)with no hesitation.
He is very concern with aftercare. The nurse in the hospital know Dr. Capella and his work and sit down and tell you exatally that he tells you when he is going to discard you from the hospital. He give you a packet to take home just in case you did not get everything he said.
He addresed the risk of surgery with great emphapais. He wanted everyone to know at even the minal items.
The one thing I have to admit which was aswome is that after the suergery you wake up with the pouch hanging down from your neck, what it is four little tube that go a litlle bit above you belly buttom to administrate pain med to your incesion. Awsome idea.
Surgical competence, bedside manner both great.
I am still pre-surgery and these are just my personal opinions!! I have been researching the gastric by-pass surgery for the last year.. I am 341 lbs.. my top weight.. This is something I have struggled with and looked into until there was nothing new a surgeon could tell me except his perticular technic.. My first impression of dr.capella was good.. He was as informative as a public forum can be..I have been to 2 other seminars for different doctors but I was right away comfortable with dr.capella.. I just got more impressed over the visit, When I met with him for a consult he was attentive and understood I feel I am at the end of everything I can do for myself and this is my next step.. The office staff was kind and assisted me as much as they could..He was big on the aftercare both that I was responsible for and that he would handle.. He explained all the risks of the surgery in detail..
The only thing I would say to anyone thinking of going through this would be RESEARCH so you know everything you can..
Mr first impression of Dr. Capella was a very good a positive one. I went to the first meeting and I feel that he was thorough and a very caring doctor.
I am very comfortableDr. Capella. I been serachong for doctor for quite some time and failed to find a doctor tht I was comfortable with until and found Dr. Capella. His office staff was very polite. If they need a doctor, Dr. Capella is the doctor for them. Dr. Capella explained the aftercare program to us. You know I really felt comfortable with him after the meeting.
He explained to us the risks of surgery and after the explanation in my opinion one did not have to be afraid. I know that prior to meeting Dr. Capella, I went to another Doctor and when I left his office I was so frighten after he explained the risks of surgery that I was afraid to look at any other surgeon, hospital, etc. I would rate Dr. Capella overall excellent. I haven't had surgery yet, but i believe that first impression is ever lasting and I can said from what I have seen in the short time, Dr. Capella's surgical competence and bedside manner are both great. I can wait to have surgery. I really hope that my insurance send back an approval in a timely manner.
I met with Dr. Capella on January 18, 2003 after attending his informational meeting. The meeting is great and answered alot of my questions. After the doctor went through the surgery step by step and showed some before and after pictures. He sat down for a Q&A. He answered everyone's questions honestly and in depth. He even had a couple of people there who were past patients and they answered questions as well. When I meet with the doctor at my appointment, he was very nice and professional and I did not feel rushed. His staff was nice and helpful and answered all of my questions. I spoke with Melba, who handled the scheduling and insurance aspect of the surgeries. My surgery and currently scheduled for May 26, 2003 and I can't wait! If my insurance company approves me quickly enough, I may get an earlier date. I have waiting a long time for this and can't wait! Dr. Capella fully explained all of the risks that go with this procedure as well as the benefits. The only thing that wasn't too great was the one on one with Dr. Capella, I wish he would have spent more time going over what he did during the seminar. but other than that I can't say anything bad about the doctor or his staff.
I went to the seminar offered by Dr Capella, it was great. He showed many before and after pictures, all of which were encourageing. He seems very thorough and emphasized aftercare. He said that there was a waiting list till January. That is 6 months away. I really did not want to have to wait that long.
I had the seminar on 1/7 and I thought it was very informative. Then I received my consultation date which was 1/14 not bad to have it one week later, (although I was first givin a date of 3 weeks later and complained) I came to the consult with about 30 written questions and a few I thought of while I was there and he answered all of them with patience. I wasn't rushed at all. I was then told that my surgery date would be sometime in June. But due to my circumstances (which have to do with conceiving) I just got a call yesterday and my surgery date is 3/3/03. I hope 3 is my lucky number. I have done alot of research and he is one of the most expierienced drs in the field of bariatrics. So all I can do is hope that everything will be ok.
