Dr. Jean-Baptiste was very nice and thorough with all of my questions. He explained what would happen during the surgery, what I would feel like after and instructed me about all of the pre-op testing I would have to do. His staff was very understanding and willing to answer all of my questions. Everyone seemed very knowlageable about the precedures. I had my surgery a little over a month after the first appointment. The doctor was there whenever I needed him, pre-op jitters to when I was in recovery. He actually called me from his personal phone number when I had a concern. I would refer everyone and anyone to Dr. Jean-Baptiste, he is an amazing doctor with a great bedside manner.

Dr. Baptiste is a wonderful and caring surgeon. I first saw him in his office on 7/21/2006 and now I have a surgery date of 9/18/2006. He is very informative and you will NEVER EVER feel rushed by him. He will answer all of your questions. rnrnAs a result of all of the testing done, I was found to have gallstones and he performed a cholecystectomy on 8/28/2006 and I am 2 weeks out and feeling wonderful. I rate him a 10++++++ and I recommend him to everyone that I know that is interested in the surgery.

DR. JEAN-BAPTISTE IS VERY CARING AND UNDERSTANDING. HE INCLUDED MY ENTIRE FAMILY IN THE DECISION MAKING. HE DID NOT GIVE A \"SALES PITCH\". HE THOROUGHLY EXPLAINED THE SURGERY AND THE ALTERNATIVES. HIS OFFICE STAFF ARE ALL VERY PLEASANT AND CONSIDERATE. rnrnFROM THE FIRST VISIT THEY SPOKE TO YOU NOT AT YOU. THEY MADE THE NECESSARY PHONE CALLS AND FOLLOW-UP CALL TO DOCTORS AND INSURANCE COMPANIES.rnrnTHERE WAS AN ACTION PLAN FROM THE NUTRITIONIST TO DAY OF SURGERY. AFTER SURGERY, MY HYPERTENSION WAS AGGREVATED. DR. JEAN- BAPTISTE WAS RIGHT THERE. HE PROMPTLY RETURNED THE NURSES CALLS AND CAME TO VISIT AS STATED. I FEEL THAT I AM IN GOOD HANDS!

Yesterday, 7/18/06, was my first step in seeking surgery. I was attracted to Bariatric Center in Plainfield, NJ because the doctor is one of 3 physicians in my area that I narrowed my search to. After meeting with Dr. J-B, I felt comfortable and he made me well informed of his practice. My first impression was that the place was clean and the staff was professional as well as pleasant. I met two patients in the waiting area that appeared to be happy with the office. Dr. J-B also explained the benefits and risk. I had been surfing this website for over a year and the doctor urge me to join and learn from others who are preparing for surgery or have had surgery. I am glad I am here and looking forward to everyones comments! rn9/1/06-UPDATE: Since my initial visit, I have had the opportunity to realize that Dr. J-B went approve and beyond for me. I would like to say thanks to him and his staff. His hardwork gives me more assurance and eases the anxiety as the days lead towards my surgery.

I have been looking into this surgery for the past five years. I have also met with at least a half of dozen different surgeons. I can honestly say Dr. Baptiste is the only one I felt comfortable enough with to trust with my life. rnrnThe first time I had called him, he personally answered his phone...he was moving offices and I’m assuming had his calls forwarded to his cell. He explained he was moving and would call me as soon as he was settled in Plainfield. I figured I wouldn’t hear from him and continued my search.rnrnAfter meeting with two other doctors after that phone call, I had almost decided to give up on my search for the right doctor for me. Then my phone rang, it was Dr. Baptiste’s office. I absolutely took this as a sign that this was meant to be, and made an appointment ASAP!rnrnMy consultation was about an hour and a half long. We covered everything, and I was so excited that I had found the right dr. for me!rnrnHe is personable, knowledgeable and answered every question I had. I felt so comfortable and reassured by him...I decided to go through with all of it!rnrnWe went over the pre-op tests I needed to have done, and set a date for the end of July for the surgery. It ended up happening the second week of august, he got me approved on the first try and that was it!!!!rnrnI honestly have nothing negative to say about him. My surgery was a success and recovery was nothing! I felt great after the first night! My incisions are healed and I’m on my way!!!!rnrnrnrnrn

My first impression of Dr.jean-baptiste was a wonderful one very informitive and kind and a great listner to what ever you ask or say.The office staff is so wonderful and kind as soon as you walk threw the door.All i can say is that Dr. Jean-Baptiste is heaven sent from God!!!!!!!

I am not in the habit of reviewing physicians, but since I began doing research, I can say that I am profficient in reading these reviews and can say with confidence that what we all look for is a doctor we simply like. All of Dr. J-B's credentials (and the list is long) are listed elsewhere on this site, so please be sure to read them over. rnWhat I would however, like to comment on is this physician's demeanor and old fashioned \"bed-side manner\". I assure you, you will love this man! He is kind, gentle and truly compassionate. He is easy to talk to and is a great listener. He's smart, experienced and is methodical in his approach.rnWhile I am still in the early stages of preparing for my upcoming surgery, I feel completely safe in his hands and am truly confident that Dr. J-B has only my best interest at heart. rnI look forward to a long patient/doctor relationship with Dr. Jean--Baptiste!rnrnLisa W.

My First impression of Dr. JB was great. I must admit that i liked him from the start. I felt very confortable talking to him, and i felt very confident in him as a surgeon, I would highly recommend Dr. JB to anyone considering surgery. He explained things to me step by step, I never once felt rushed by him, and i left his office feeling safe and knowing that i was in good hands and content with my decision to have Dr. JB as my surgeon.

This was my second attempt at finding a surgeon I was comfortable with. I was guarded at first because my first experience was not positive. My first impression came before my consult. I e-mailed Dr. Baptiste to inquire about insurance participation. He e-mailed me back within 1 day, and had already set up an appt. for me for the following week! I immediately felt comfortable and his knowledge of both procedures were impressive. He was willing to listen to the reasons I wanted the Lap Band but was adament that this procedure was not in my best interest. He went on to explained that my fears of RNY were based on old info. prior to the wonders of Laporoscopy.rnYou do have to be prepared to wait to be seen. I waited about a half hour each time and have learned to bring my newspaper and enjoy a little free time.rnI met with Judy first, who made me feel at ease. Her knowledge of the procedure impressed me as well. Suzanne is always cheerful, even when I was grouchy about not having some testing done closer together. rnFuture patients should know they can trust Dr. Baptiste. If he requires more pre-testing than anyone you have ever met, theres a reason behind it. This is why his rate of success is so high.rnDr. Baptiste places as much emphasis on aftercare as he does the before plan. You will have an appt for your post Op visit before you leave the hosp as well as your appt for the nutritionist.rnObviously surgical competence is of number one importance, but you cannot dismiss the benifits of a Doc with good bedside manner. Feeling comfortable enough to call your Doc at 4:45 on a Friday and having him be cheerful and helpful can only aid in the overall recovery of the patient.

Dr. Jean-Baptiste and his staff are really the best team around. They really go the distance to teach about the surgery .All risks explained. I always wanted a surgeon with the excellent track record and i can say that Dr. JB is definitely the one for me. Very good outcome on all his patients.that's the most important for me. i'll update further as my surgery date approaches.
