Darius Ameri Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

Well it's a new year and I met with the surgeon, Dr. Darius Ameri. My first impression of him was even better than I expected. I expected a very well educated and knowledgable surgeon and I believe I have found that and more within Dr. Ameri. His office staff are very helpful and professional. In my opinion Dr. Ameri likes if the patient has done alot of their homework on the WLS. He only does the gastric bypass laparascopically (unless an emergency). He will expect you to try and lose some weight before the surgery and it will be according to your BMI. They seem to have a very structured follow-up. He did go over all the risks of the surgery but I am happy to report there has been no fatalities within his practice from this surgery. He states that it's rare and usually 1% risk factor. I believe Dr. Ameri is a great surgeon and seems to have a great bedside manner also. He is very attentive and patient. He expains the procedure very thorougly. I would recommend him to anyone that is thinking about having this type of WLS.

MY FIRST OFFICE VISIT REALLY PUT ME AT EASE. ALL THE QUESTIONS I HAD WERE ANSWERED AND ALL MY OPTIONS WERE DISCUSSED. DR. AMERI REALLY PUT MY TENSIONS TO REST. I LEFT HIS OFFICE WITH A RENEWED HOPE FOR MY FUTURE. I HAVE LIVED WITH HEALTH PROBLEMS FOR SO LONG I STARTED TO LOOSE HOPE, BUT NOW I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS OPERATION SO I CAN START LIVING MY LIFE TO THE FULLEST AGAIN. EVERYONE IN HIS OFFICE WAS AS HELPFUL AS COULD BE. IF FIRST IMPRESSIONS ARE ANY SIGN OF WHATS TO COME, I CAN'T WAIT.

MY FIRST OFFICE VISIT WAS A NICE EXPERIENCE.THE DOCTOR TOLD ME TO FORGET ABOUT TIME, HE WAS THERE TO ANSWER ALL MY QUESTIONS. HE TALKED TO ME ABOUT ALL THE OPTIONS I HAD WITHOUT PUSHING ME IN ANY ONE DIRECTION.

MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR AMERI WAS THAT HE WAS A VERY CARING PERSON. HE IS A VERY UNDERSTANDING PERSON AND A VERY QUALIFIED SURGEON. I AM SO HAPPY THAT I CHOSE HIM AS MY SURGEON. HE MADE ME FEEL VERY COMFORTABLE AND RELAXED. I NEVER FELT RUSHED THRU ANY OF THE QUESTIONS I HAD FOR HIM. HE TOOK HIS TIME AND MADE SURE THAT I UNDERSTOOD THE ANSWERS HE HAD GIVEN ME. HE MADE ME FEEL VERY CONFIDENT IN MY DECISION FOR SURGERY. HIS OFFICE STAFF ARE JUST AS NICE AS HE IS. LOUISE THE NURSE AND SURGICAL ASSISTANT TOOK HER TIME AND WENT OVER EVERYTHING.. SHE ANSWERED ALL THE QUESTIONS THAT HAD COME UP. SHE WAS VERY INFORMATIVE AND FRIENDLY. LINDA IS A VERY FRIENDLY AND WARM PERSON ALSO. IF ANYONE IS LOOKING FOR A KIND DR AND OFFICE STAFF LOOK NO FURTHER. DR AMERI'S OFFICE IS WHERE YOU SHOULD CALL.

Dr Ameri and his staff are simply fabulous and nothing shy of professional.

I walked in there not knowing if I was doing the right thing. They were patient with me and answered all my questions.

I'm scheduled for surgery in two weeks and I have no fears at all. I'm ready and eager.

I've actuall only met with him once but his staff has been wonderful, very helpful and supportive.

My first meeting went well. He was nice and I felt very comfortable with him.

I've heard great things about him from other people I know as well as from my nutritionist who has also worked with other patients of his.

His office gave me a True/False test to ensure my understanding of the procedure and of the aftercare, which is indeed very structured.

He addressed all the risks in my first consultation with him as well as in the reading material he sent me home with.

I feel very comfortable and confident about his ability.

My first consult with Dr.Ameri in August was great. He made me feel at ease and comfortable and was in no rush. He spent time going over everything so that I completely understood what this entailed: a lifelong commitment. I felt completely sure he was the right surgeon for me. I have a good instinct about people, and from what I've heard from others, they agree about him. I am scheduled for surgery 2/6/03 and can't wait!! I have met some of his post op patients and they have done wonderful!! My sister in law is a nurse in recovery at Winchester Hospital, so she knows alot about the surgeons. She had nothing but good things to say about him. She states he is very experienced in lap and is easy on the tissue when performing the surgery.
His whole "way" about him, makes you realize you made the right choice and are literally putting your life in his hands.
It's a leap of faith I am willing to take with him.

Dr.Ameri was a very compassionate man. He was friendly and made me very comfortable speaking with him. I feel that he had so much concern for the increasing demand for this surgery and the lack of enough surgeons performing this procedure therefore creating such a long wait for everyone in need.He spoke of Rny as a very gratifying procedure in that he gains so much satisfaction in helping us to change our health and our lives. The office is very busy and I think the increase in demand has them working extremely hard to get people through as quick and efficiently as possible.I have only just begun,waiting for them to submit my paperwork for insurance approval.I will update more as I go. So far, Dr. Ameri gets an A+

very knowledgeable my impression of him has not changed and I DONOT THINK IT WILL HIS OFFICE STAFF IS VERY HELPFUL GETTING YOU INSURANCE APPROVED AND SETTING UP THE SURGERY DATE THERE IS NOTHING I DID NOT LIKE ABOUT HIM FUTURE PATIENTS SHOULD FOLLOW HIS INSTRUCTIONS AND BELIEVE IN HIM DR, AMERI EMPHASIZES AFTERCARE IS VERY IMPORTANT AND DO WHAT HE SUGGEST NO THERE IS NO AFTER CARE PROGRAM SET UP AT HIS OFFICE BUT THANK GOODNESS I HAVE SUPPORT HERE ON THE CAPE WHERE I LIVE , ALSO I HAVE BEEN TO NEW ENGLAND MED (nemc) AFTERCARE PROGRAM I UNDERSTAND DR,AMERI ,S OFFICE IS GOING TO SET ONE UP LIKE (nemc)YES HE GIVES YOU A TALK AND LITERATURE TO READ ON THE RISKS OF SURGERY I WOULD RATE HIM AS EXCELLENT HE HAS THE BEST BEDSIDE MANNER BUT HIS SURGICAL COMPETENCE MADE ME FEEL SAFE i had laprny gastric bypass the only problem i have is not being able to take my arthritis meds

I met with Dr. Ameri today and all I can say is he is awesome!!! He answered every question I had, didnt brush me off, and took his time! He spent a good 30 mins going over the surgery and requirments! His staff, linda and louise are excellent! Louise goes over everything in depth and leaves no stone unturned! I would definatly recommend friends and family to use this Dr for their surgery.
