Dr Fabito repair me, and he was wonderful
I am so grateful to him, If anyone is questioning his time line DONT he is worth the wait. I wish I would have waited for him from the start, but I like so many was in a hurry, had to get the weight off NOW
and went with another surgeon (I will not mention his name) and have regreted that move seeing that I had to have a complete overhaul>>>>Please take it from me Dr Fabito is the best wait for his expertise..

Hello--I contacted Dr. Scott's office late last week when I was told by Ida in Dr. Fabito's office that he is trying to determine if he can continue to do this surgery due to the increase in malpractise insurance costs. Has anyone else run into this?

Dr. Scott's office personnel seemed nice. Said they would send me an info package with a list of other appointments I would need prior to surgery. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and have a letter from them saying the surgery is covered as long as I meet the 40 BMI criteria, (which I do!)and have failed at conservative methods of weight loss. (Boy, have I!)

I haven't met Dr. Scott in person--I relied on the comments on AMOS to guide me. Plus location--Wentzville is about 2 hours from me.

It has been 8 months since my surgery. My first impressions of Dr Fabito, was before I even met him, he kept a group of us waiting for over an hour, it was annoying. Once I met him, I was no longer annoyed and just decided he had issues with time management. The good news I decided he must really be a perfectionist. I choose to keep a positive attitude. He gave his surgery introduction to a group of 6 perspective patients, 2 of us who were scheduled for surgery within 4days. He was thourough, patient, explicit, and detailed in his presentation. I tend to ask a lot of questions, a whole lot, and he gladly expalined all, including diagrams. I especially loved his sense of humor, since I also love to laugh, it put me right at ease.

His office staff is nice, and yet it is extremely hard to talk to them, they are always so busy. I found a lot of his patients found that upsetting. I found and still find it frustrating, but I am a patient and persistent type. So, for future patients you may find it very frustrating when they don't return your calls right away, all I can say is keep calling.

What I like least about him. is sometimes I find him to vague with his answers of my concers, or to vague with any diagnosis of a problem.

He has a structured aftercare program in my opinion, IF you avail yourself of it.

He most definetly addressed all the risk involved, and I am the type w ho would not have allowed him to filet me wide open, until he had.

Pertanning to the Gastric Bypass surgery, in my experience I would give him an A.

In regard to his surgical competence (here I can only give my opinion on the procedure he did for me) I believe that his surgical competence was great and his bedside manner good.

In my opinion, If I were just making the choice today to do this surgery I stil would go with Dr. Fabito as my 1st choice. Whaterver you decide, who is reading this info, I wish you all the best and many blessings on your journey to good health.

Now that Dr. Gasten is no longer with New Start, I will be using Dr. Fabito. I have had my thyroid function test, psychological evaluation and letter sent from my family physician. Currently waiting to get written approval from insurance co. Then I will have my first appointment with Dr. Fabito. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can be scheduled before the end of March.

My husband is backing me 100%. My two adult sons are apprehensive, only because I have undergone so money surgeries in the past.

I am determined that when my baby Grandson begins to run, Grandma will be able to keep up with him. He will be a year old on March 27.

I received the paperwork from Newstart today. I am supposed to fill it out and send it back, then I will have word from them in about 2 weeks whether my insurance will cover it or not. I have not been to the seminar yet, but I did tell the receptionist that I had been to it many years ago and I was sure this is what I wanted to do. So maybe that is why this is being done first or maybe this is normal procedure. Anyway hopefully this will mean I am one step closer to getting to the other side. :-)

Dr. Fabito has been very informative. I would feel very confident and assured if he were doing my surgery. Dr. Fabito's office staff are less then helpful. I as often confused when I speak with his staff members. I feel as though I'm bothering them. Since I have not had surgery I feel ill-equipped to answer all the questions. At the seminar I attended, aftercare was highly emphasized and support was stressed. The risks of surgery were clearly highlighted and each question people had was answered in depth. I would rate Dr. Fabito highly from what I know of him. I feel surgical competence is the most important but bedside manner has some importance as well.

I met Dr. Fabito in a group setting and I didn't think I would like doing it that way, but it turned out o.k. He is very confident in his procedure and after hearing what he had to say I settled down and knew this is what I had to do. Just an hour before meeting him I had giving some thought to backing out. I had been through all my pre-op testing and was getting more nervous with each test. I told my husband that I was having second thoughts, but after meeting and talking with him I was good to go.

I just loved my surgeon. He was the most calming man I met in dealing with this situation. He has a sense of humour which really made the whole experience a relaxing one. Someone asked me if I had it to do all over again would I? My answer to them was YEA as long as Dr. Fabito was the surgeon.
