Christopher Kaczmarski Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

Thiis being my second consult with a different surgeon, I did not have many questions prepared. I have been reading information from this website for months so I was more than prepared for my consult with Dr. Kaczmarski. I had heard several wonderful reports about Dr. K. I was impressed with Barix Clinic from the time I first went for a seminar. It was definitely "fat-friendly". Dr. K made me thoroughly comfortable that they would be with me throughout the entire process. I most enjoyed the patient counselors sharing their personal experiences.

I was very pleased with my consultation with the surgeon. I also met with a nutritionist and a former patient that dsy. Everyone made me feel very comfortable and answered all my questions. My only problem now is I am waiting for the surgeon to approve the surgery which in turn he is waiting for all of my medical clearances and it seems no one understands "fax the test results". I had an approved date of 7/20/05 but that has now passed so now I am waiting for a surgery date. Overall I would rate Dr. Kaczmarski as very caring about your feelings and extremely honest about the risks involved.

I met Dr. K back in April of this year and I really Thought Dr. K was such a great straight forward doctor. Rare these days to have someone to be honest, but not blunt to the ponit of scaring the Heck out of ya!

We met for about 45 mins or so and he answered all my questions, His staff were very sweet and Friendly.


The only "Down side" has been since we met I have had a few bumps in the road with one of his staff .As it's been like pulling a donkey through a picket fence ,trying to get a call back in a timely manor has been that bad at times. BUT I found out the person that wasn't calling back hads 60 people to look after! So we have cleared that up and any misunderstandings and were moving on.
I do not know my date as of yet but was told it would be in Aug..July 20th Still no surgery date and most of this is due to Barix clinics Staff. I have come so Far but I am seriously thinking about going else ware as my nerve are completely shot,what was once a "great" experience has become a bad taste in my mouth. DR.K staff in pa are royal pains in the rear, rude and obnoxious

I was very impressed with Dr. K he very understood about not only my concerns but all the concerns that my family had. He is very business like so to some people that can be a turn off. Honestly I don't mind it - it proves to me that he knows his stuff. In fact he answers most of your questions long before the question answer portion of the consultation occurs.

I was so impressed with Dr. Kaczmarski. Some Doctors have no bedside manner and when they come in a room they make you feel as if you are taking up their time. NOT with Dr. Kaczmarski. He made me feel at ease and as if he had all the time in the world for me. He answered two-thirds of the questions before I even asked them. I feel that he is extremely competent from what I have learned from him and from sources about him.

I was also impressed with the clinic. Clean, open, bright and it didn't have that hospital odor that we sometimes can associate with a stomach-dropping feeling. The staff was pleasant and couldn't do enough for you.

I was also impressed with the agenda that they have going for each patient - before, during and after. I am looking forward to our assocation.

I had to wait over a month for a consultation. He seems friendly and competant. Over 1200 surgeries to his credit. He did say there was one death. He also told me it happened a few months after surgery and the patient was older and had a lot of problems with his health going into surgery. He had me see a Cardiologist for an echo and EKG. There is also 3 hours of pre-op testing to look forward to in a couple of weeks. He seems to want a very clean bill of health. That's Ok with me! His medical assistant could use some bedside manor. Not too friendly and doesn't return calls. I had to keep on top of her or I would have been still waiting for all of my paperwork to get to her. When it was finally all in, she did call the one time to tell me someone would call in a week or two to set up my surgery. The next day the girl called to set my date. Funny how some people do there job faster and nicer than others!

He was an awesome guy! Answered all my questiions. Felt very comfortable. Everyone was very pleasant. I would recommed this place at least for a consulation. Hadn't had surgery yet~!

Dr. Kaczmarski was kind and was forthcoming with information (good and not so good) about gastric bypass. My impression has not changed re: my surgeon. His office staff are some of the most caring individuals I've ever dealt with. Dr. Kaczmarski has a great bedside manner! Aftercare is stressed with the utmost importance. Nutritionists are on staff ready to help with any questions 24/7. I would rate Dr. Kaczmarski as an excellent surgeon. I feel Dr. Kaczmarski is superior in surgical competence and bedside manner.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. K. He and the Barix clinics have this down to a science. He covered every detail (the good and the bad) before, during and after the surgery. The follow-up is great and on-going.

If you are in the area and have the oppertunity to select Dr K. please do. Once you meet him and see the Barix Clinic you will be convinced to.

If your not in the area and have a Barix Clinic near you check them out. It's all they do and from my perspective they are the best.

Dr K ws great He pulled no punches he put it out there and you were left with no questions.. He answered all of my questions and those I did not think to ask. I thought he was a little stiff but I guess that comes with the territory. He discussed aftercare and life long care at Barix. I give him an 8 out of 10 Loosen up Dr. K. I liked that fact that he has been doing this surgery for years and has never lost a patient. Over1200 surgeries. That matters to me,. I have seen many surgeons but experience wins. I choose Dr K and Barix for that reason
