My first visit to BTC was in Sept.00, where I met with all the people I had talked to weeks prior to the visit; office, assistants, etc.. and I met with Dr. K. The wait was long but after setting down to our consult he made me and my husband feel very comfortable. Although I rushed my insurance claim thru with approval right away, I did have to go back to my family MD for a few test. I have numerous other problems.. the weight just adds to them all!! After they were all done, Dr. K called me at home himself and we went over a few things, risks, aftercare, etc. and was ok'ed for surgery which is coming up in a week. I am now getting to the nervous stage. I do have to go for my pre-test next Wed. 1-17, then to surgery. Will let you know the post-op. Overall, so far, Dr. K is the man!
Well I was gonna go with dr. Stickler but I figured that Bariatric Treatment Center will be better for insurance purposes since they are a Bariatric hosp and this is their specialty. I really do need all the help I can with the ins thing.
My father had surgery with dr. Stickler and he speaks very highly of him I remind you my decision to go to BTC is nothing against Dr. Stickler at all as I have said I have personally met him myself and I would love to go to him simply because he does both open and lap rny but my insurance situation isn't that stable and I want to be sure that if I have a fight i will have people who have done it before to back me up.
I have chosen Dr.Kaczmarski because that is who my aunt had her open rny with and she was very pleased with him.
Jan 5th 2001, today I had my first consultation with Dr. Kaczmarski. Dr. K. is very informative, he is very good in explaining all the risks of the procedure and in answering all of my questions. He also described the procedure in a very understandable way. I enjoyed meeting his office staff as many of them has had the procedure thereselves the one woman rep I spoke with (sorry I forgot her name) had the procedure 5yrs ago and she looked amazing and was a little ball of fire. This was such a great experience for me I am soooo hopefull.
My first impression of Dr Kaczmarksi was very favorable. He answered all of my questions honestly. He seems very professional and seems to have a sense of humor also. He is very forthright about risks of surgery and how to avoid pitfalls. I can't say anything about his bedside manner but his surgical competence seems outstanding!
I saw him right before surgery after I received my knock-out meds so he was kind of fuzzy and right after. He is very nice but went on vacation the day after my surgery so I saw Dr. Choban the rest of my stay. She is awesome. Very friendly and helpful. She even checked on me in the shower - stuck her head in!
Their office staff are the best. I love everyone. The nurses are top-notch.
My first impression of Dr. Kaczmariski was, he really enjoys doing what he does for a living. Which was alright with me! The more he explained everything to me and my husband, and how thourough he was, the more I liked him during our consultation on Dec. 10, 1999. The staff at BTC in Grove City, OH were absolutely terrific. Although I am going to miss Liz the dietitian there(I just found out she has accepted another job). She was a very sweet, kind and concerned person who loved her job. Yvette and Diane(Counselor) were equally kind and very informative (they both had the surgery also, and looks great!). I was a little disappointed I didn't get to see or speak with Dr. K but once while in the hospital, but I knew how busy he was (he had performed 4 surgeries that day before mine) and he does go out of his way to visit his patients at least once, when most doctors send an intern or resident. After having the surgery and going to my post-op visits, I found a really caring side to Dr.K to be most appreciated. He makes me feel good about myself on every visit, always smiling and willing to answer any questions I may have for him each visit. Although I had to miss my 3 month visit (due to starting a new job) I look forward to my 6 month visit next month (Sept.). He was also concerned that I continue to take the prescribed medications and my vitamines as instructed until all gone. My only disappointment was that I live in Indianapolis, Indiana and there aren't any support groups in my city(that I know of), so I yearn for support over the internet and different web sites
(e.g. adoctorinyourhouse.com,obesityhelp.com)etc. Dr. K. did inform me of minor risks, but he also included and assured me that I was in pretty good health to be the size I was, and he didn't forsee any complications with me at all. Overall I rate Dr. K. an excellent candidate to perform surgery on anyone who expects the best possible care going under such a delicate procedure. His surgical competence, beside manner and the fact that he cares are all wonderful. I pray that his demeanor and the way he carries himself never change! :)
Dr. Kaczmarski has a wonderful atitude.
He made me feel comfortable and he was very informative.
My impression of him has only increased since the first time I met him :o)
His staff is EXCELLENT! Very friendly and so kind!
I liked everything about him. The way he spoke with my husband and I openly and honestly about the procedure was wonderful.
Any patient of his should be aware that he is a wonderful person. He genuinely cares for his patients.
He stresses aftercare because it is so important. It is key in learning how to use our "tool" and making everything a success.
Yes the BTC has a wonderful aftercare schedule.
He did tell us of possible risks and complications.
I would rate him on a scale of one to ten...10!!!
I found no faults with his competence nor his bedside manner. He was gentle and caring.
