Very personable, answered all of my preop questions.
Office staff has been great. I have visited and called on many occasions and they were very helpful.
He emphasizes aftercare as does the entire BTC staff. Excellent structure to the aftercare program. The "Bariatric Bible" they provided helped me through the first two months with minimal problems.
He addressed all of the risks and complications in a straight foreward manner, and addressed all of my concerns.
I think he is an excellent surgeon.
I think surgical competence is better. I did not see much of him in the hospital.
My first impression of Dr. K was YOUNG!!!!
When I originally went to see Dr. K for my consultation I had a 5 page list of questions. He answered all of them before I even had the chance to ask them.
He was very blunt almost to the point of rudeness about the risk associated w/the surgery. He left no rock unturned and I liked that. After all, he is going to have my life in his hands.
I could not be happier than I am that I chose Dr. K. I had my surgery on Dec. 22 of 2000 and I am doing wonderful. I had a hernia I had no idea about that he fixed. My incision is beautful and I am doing great.
I really can not think of one bad thing to say about Dr. K, now the receptionist @ BTC in Grove Port, OH....that is another story!
I met with Dr. Kaczmarski on April 16 at the Bariatric Treatment Center. I found him to be very knowledgable, experienced and business-like. Most of the questions that I had written down when I went in were answered by him without me asking. I felt that he didn't minimize the risk of the surgery, but was positive in regard to the amount of risk per patient..depending on age, weight and current health status. I feel comfortable with his experience level...as he does 8-10 of these surgeries a week, and that is all he does.
My appointment was at 1:30 and I was not taken in until 2:30, however, from what I read, that delay is minimal compared to others. The only thing that I did not care for was that the BTC patient-consultant spoke with me and another patient together...this was because they got behind. I would have preferred to be by myself when seeing the consultant so that I could ask more personal questions.
My first impression of Dr. Kaczmarski was excellent. He's not what you call a very friendly person, he seems to have a quiet effective manner about him. He was extremely informative and answered all of my questions before I asked. When he finished explaining everything, I didn't have any questions. The office staff was very pleasant. My counselor is Diane. She had the surgery five years ago, as well as several others in her family. I'm looking forward to seeing Dr. K again at my surgery! The only complaint I have is I waited sooooo long to see him. My appointment was at 1:30, I didn't get in to see him until almost 4:00. But, I guess thorougness has it's price!
dr.kaczmarski is a soft spoken kind of fellow but what a great sence of humor he has.he made me feel comfortable the first time we met and even now after the surgery,he has made me feel like a real person, not somebody to be made fun of.
he takes his work and your health very serious and makes it very plain the do's and dont's,but does it in a manner that never offences you.
he has personally taken the time out of his day,to return a call to me becuase i thougt i had a problem, most dr.s would just have the nurse call.not that his staff isnt well edgucated about wls, they are highly capable.iv never gotten treated with more respect than when i walked thru their office door.
if your in the columbus area dr.k is the right dr. to go to.after you meet him the first time you'll respect him as dr. and person as much as i do.he gives the facts straight out!
HE WAS GREAT! NO CHANGE IN FEELINGS.
OFFICE AND HOSPITAL STAFF AT LEAST MOST OF THE PEOPLE I ENCOUNTERED HAD HAD THE SURGERY,
AND WAS EAGER TO SHARE THERE PHOTOS.
THE STAFF WAS VERY SUPPORTIVE AND PATIENT.
I WOULD RECOMEND THE BARIATRIC TREATMENT CENTER TO EVERYONE.
AFTERCARE IS VERY IMPORTANT AND THE STAFF
IS RIGHT THERE FOR YOU AND VERY SENSITIVE.
THE SUPPORT GROUP IS NOT IN THIS AREA SO THEY HAVE CONTACTED ME TO HEAD ONE UP AFTER 6 MONTHS POST OP AND THEY WILL TRAIN ME.
THEY HAVE A WEB SITE FOR SUPPORT, AND CAN CALL THE OFFICE AT ANY TIME.
MY DOCTOR WAS VERY CAREFULL I HAD CLEARENCES
TO BE DONE FOR SURGERY, ONE WITH PULMONOLOGIST, AND CARDIAC. A VERY GOOD PRE-ADMIT EXAM.
DR KACZMARSKI HAD BED SIDE MANNERS AND SURGICAL COMPETENCE. MY INCISION IS HEALING NICELY AND LOOKS GREAT.
Dr Kaczmarski is the best. He made me feel comfortable right from the start. My feelings for him are undescribable. He has given me back a life. When I was in the hospital I got the best possible care. I didn't have to ask for a thing. The staff was always there for me. A very loving caring a supportive group. I can not think of one negative thing about my whole experience at the hospital. The waiting for approval is quite a different story. Once you know you are a good canidate for the surgery you want to go. They have been equally attentive with my after care. They are the greatest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The first impression of my surgeon was that he really cared about helping me with my weight. My impression has not changed. The staff worked with me and are very helpful when I call them. I really do believe that all of the Physicians at the Bariatric Treatment Center are very good. They are very hip on the aftercare. I really do think it plays a big part on recovery. My husband and I asked atleast 50 questions and Dr. K. actually took the time to answer and explain all of them. I would rate Dr. K. a 10. I think Dr. K's surgical competence and beside manner will make an impression on anyone. I highly recommend him or his other fellow physicians.
