I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Kaczmarski, of Bariatric Treatment Centers, for the first time today. He spent a good 45 minutes with me and took the time to address every question I asked of him. At no time did I feel rushed or hurried by him. The staff I met today were extremely friendly and helpful. My only concern was with the aftercare program. The only thing it seem to consists of is 3 - 4 office visits during the first year. When deciding on this kind of major surgery you need to be comfortable with your surgeon and the center that you will have the surgery done in. I had the option of going to a center just 15 minutes from my house or going to BTC 3 hours away. After speaking to both centers and reading this great site I know I made the right choice going with BTC.
Dr. Kaczmsarski was great! I have only met him twice. August of 2000 and March 2 (the day after surgery) so I really don't remember him that well, but he did a great job on my surgery. Everyone at the Bariatric Treatment Center was great too. The only thing I really don't like is that I have only seen him twice and this man has been inside my body!! LOL The info that the hospital gave me after surgery was very helpful and explained everything that I needed to know and why I had to eat what I had to eat. I really don't have anything to complain about when it comes to my Dr. He was awesome
It has been nine months since I saw Dr. K., but I remember him as being a caring individual. He answered all my questions before I even asked them, and did emphasize the risks of having the surgery. He spent alot of time with me.
I liked the fact that many of the employees of the Bariatric Treatment Center had also undergone this procedure. They were an inspiration and full of helpful answers.
Dr. Kaczmarski is very professional and informative, natural and honest. The office staff is very friendly and professional also, as well as informative and sincere. I was prepared with questions and I feel that helped in the screening. I expressed my questions and concerns and received good, informative answers. My only suggestion is that the staff be a little more organized, in the office and the hospital.
I only met him once,at the consultation. He seemed very nice and my husband and I were both at ease with him.He was very eager to answer all of our questions and didn't rush us. He was with us for almost an hour! The treatment center here in Columbus is extremely clean and they are very, very, nice. I am so glad I chose to go there....
Great first impression.
I had an open RNY at BTC's new center in Groveport. Surgery was a breeze. Recovery was easy, Surgeon was and still is fantastic.
I am very pleased with my decision to have surgery by an expert who performs many RNY's every month - and who cares about his patients as much as Dr. Kaczmarski obviously does.
The aftercare has been terrific. Meeting with the nutritionists each office visit has been very helpful.
Dr. Kacmarski was very nice. I did not feel uncomfortable around him in any way at all. I personally have never met soooo many nice people as I did at my consultation, or especially the Hospital. They really care about you as a person and do not treat you as "just another fat person at a Dr. office!" There were alot of complications during my surgery. He did a great job.
Dr. K as I call him is wonderfull. From the very first introduction he was informative and answered all my questions. I never felt like I was being rushed or that any questions i asked were stupid or insignificant.
When I went for my consultation I got to speak with a "Patient Counselor" (someone who had the surgery themselves). This was very benificial and I was able to ask her a lot of practical questions.
Dr. K and the nutritionist definitely emphasize the importance of follow up care (after surgery 2week, 6week, 3 month, 6 month and then 1 year and once a year thereafter). They give good instructions on how to eat and exercise that will improve your weight loss.
My hospital stay was pleasant. The doctors and nurses were exceptional. And the facility was very nice.
