I thought Dr Kaczmarski was very pleasant when I met with him. I was approved thru Proferred one insurance. This insurance company only works with companies and does will not do individual coverage. Which now brings me to the the major problem I faced. I was originally scheduled for surgery on Jan 22, 2002. My company decided the 3rd week of November to announce that they were switching our coverage to Nationwide. I had less than 6 weeks to get a new surgery date. Diane in the scheduling department was a lifesaver. I can not say enough about how wonderful she was to me. She kept me calm when I was freaking out and losing hope. My new surgery day is this Thurday the 13th of Dec. I am both nervous and excited.

Update 10/27/2001 -- I really like him even more after my two week appointment. He was so much more lighthearted as opposed to being so serious at the consultation.

I believe my consult was on the hottest and most humid day of the year, July 23, 2001. To put it nicely, I am sure I looked wilted after working and then driving two hours. And I was the last consult of the day. The office staff made me feel a little rushed. Dr. Kaczmarski, however, did not. He talked awhile and even after I whipped out my list of questions, he listened attentively and responded. The last question I asked him was why he choose to do bariatric surgery. He smiled and talked about how he liked doing surgery on this area of the body and how he had done surgery in this area with cancer patients in the past. He said that although the cancer patients a year later knew they were alive maybe because of the surgery, they didn't usually see their lives as changed. In doing this surgery, patients lives usually change greatly after a year and they are very grateful to have had the surgery. He further said he never gets tired of doing the surgery and can see doing this for the rest of his career. I liked this answer.

My first impression of Dr. Kaczmarski was he answered my questions before I asked. Made me to know he knew what he was doing. The staff is very pleasant. I've never had a problem thus far. He lets you know step by step what's going to happen pre-op and post-op.He did address the risks of the surgery for my age. I was 46 at the time of surgery. He talked about clots and such, but they make you do lung exersises and stuff before and after surgery. And wear the hose for two weeks he takes every precaution !! I really haven't had a bad thing to say about the Dr. I had or the hospital. They treated you like a Queen at the hospital. I had GREAT nurses. God was good to me!!!!!! The only negative thing was getting through the receptionists!!! She's slow.

My first impression was when my husband went for his consultation. He was straight forward about the surgery, the risks and the successes.

The office staff was wonderful. Many were former patients and had wonderful things to say, I felt confident with him and their opinions.

The thing I liked least was how he told us that our insurance would not approve it unless we did weight watchers or some manages weight loss program. Since neither of us had done one of these, he suggested we both go and join one. Both my husband and I were approved the first time and no other programs were required. Good thing we saved our money.

My first impression of Dr. K was that he was personable and friendly. He was very knowldegeable about the surgery and answered any questions that I had. He also was not afraid to educate us me on the risks involved.
I was very nervous and scared when I entered through the front door of the BTC in Grove City. It would have helped greatly if the receptionist was very friendly and caring. I did not get that impression at all and I was rather disappointed and wondered if I had made the right decision to come there. Now, this might have just been my own personal experience and might not be what others would experience or maybe the receptionist was having a bad day but it is so important for her/him to be upbeat, friendly and positve as that is the first impression a person gets about the whole center.
