Dr. K was very informative and assured me that he is capable of doing this procedure. He showed my where my incision will be and answered all my questions to the fullest extent. I recommend him to anyone who is looking for an experienced surgeon. He told me he does at least 8 to 10 procedures a week and has performed over 700 of these procedures. I was very pleased with Dr. K and his work.
The Dr's and Nurses at BTC in Groveport Ohio are excellent. However I felt the office help was in desperate need of change. They do not answer phones or return phone calls if you are fortunate enough to get a machine. Aftercare has been very thorough as well. No complaints on the hospital staff just the office workers.
What I really like about Dr. Kaczmarski is his ability to give the honest truth about the surgery, but still put you at ease. I feel he was very thorough in explaining the procedure as well as any possible complications. Any doubts or fears I had going into this have been resolved because of the manner in which he explains things.
It was also a great comfort to see the staff members so genuine and caring. Not only during the consultation, but during the Pre-admission process as well.
It is very important to me to know that I have a competent doctor who shows genuine concern and doesn't condemn me for being in the shape I am in.
Dr. Kaczmarski was great he let me know everything involved with the surgey. Yesterday I went through my pat tests. While I was in the waiting room I saw the doctor come in. I made sure to introduce myself to him again so he would remember me on 04-24-02 when I am supposed to have my surgey. The pat doctor ordered one test which I am having done friday april 5th. I had a blood clot in my leg on 10-04-01 and he wants to make sure that will not cause a problem I guess. If anyone else has had a blood clot in there medical past and then had the surgery please let me know what tests they made you take befor surgery. So far everything is going fast. I hope that dont postpone my surgey that would devistate me.Rating so far 10.
I met with Dr. K on March 12, 2002 at my BTC consultation. I had read about other people's impressions from their visits on this site and for the most part they thought he was quiet but knowledgable. I found him to be a very personable man. I was very comfortable with him and trust his expertise. He explained everything to me in a very clear and concise manner. I was really impressed with the office staff being so polite and down-to-earth. He stressed the importance of their support groups and dietician guidelines. He was very clear on the risks of the surgery, which surprised me. I didn't feel the risks were any higher than with having any other surgical procedure done. In a 1-10 scale, I would rate him a 10! I feel that surgical competence (even though his medical experience it quite impressive) and bedside manner are very important, but I cannot make a comment at this time due to not having had the surgery yet.
I was extremely happy with meeting Dr. Kaczmarski. He spent close to 45 minutes talking to me and answering all of my questions. He was very patient and encouraging. I was also very happy with the staff at the office in Grove City. I look forward to seeing Dr. K again on the day of my surgery. I'll post more about him later.
