My surgeon was just switched to Dr. Brian Lane. Although I haven't met him, I hear nothing but wonderful things about his surgery expertise AND his bedside manner. I hear he leaves a beautifully clean scar, too! Smile! I'm hoping to get to meet him before my surgery date, but the testimonials I've heard leave me with a comfort zone that I can live with even if I just get to talk to him for a few minutes before I go in!
when i first went i was very scared i had never though it would come to this. but my first inpression of the dr. was he was very formal and very busy. he ans. all the question i had put i didn't know what to ask. the office help seemed very nice at the time i have called since and have a hard time getting any reply. he told me that his track record was excellent. and the one of the center was also one of the best
Seemed to very good at explaining in laymans terms and very knowlegable.
My opinion has not changed. I found him very good at making sure my body will be able to tollarate the surgery and recovery with my family history of heart problems and my asthma.
The office was plain and simple, but provided all the tools needed to present the procedure.
Be sure you are very truthful of your medical and family history. The additional tests are to ensure the best possible out come. He seems to really care about you the person and performing the surgery in your best interest.
He didn't go in to much after care information, but I found the support group very helpful in this area. I should be learning more about the required after care at my pre-surgery exam. I hope to find some form of structure and emphasize of what is needed from my part and my supporters.
The risks of surgery was explained in detail and what they steps are taken to prevent those risks.
I feel everyone needs a little bit of both the surgical competence and bedside manner. It certainly helps develop trust for both the patient and surgeon.
MY FIRST VISIT WITH DR. LANE WAS COMFORTABLE AND INFORMATIVE. HIS OFFICE STAFF WAS ALSO VERY HELPFUL. HE AND HIS STAFF ARE VERY THOROUGH WITH AFTERCARE. THE NUTRITIONISTS CALL YOU WITH EACH NEW PHASE OF YOUR EATING AFTER SURGERY. DR. LANE ADDRESSED THE RISKS WITH THE SURGERY BUT, I STILL FELT CONFIDENT HAVING THIS SURGERY. MY FEELING WITH THIS WAS THAT THEY DO THIS SURGERY EVERYDAY AND THIS IS THE ONLY SURGERY THAT THEY DO, I FELT VERY CONFIDENT. MY STAY AT BTC WAS WONDERFUL CONSIDERING HOW I FELT. DR. LANE AND THE NURSES WERE AWESOME. I ALSO HAD A CHANCE TO MEET DR. TOUISSANT AND DR. BISTOLORIDES AND THEY WERE VERY PLEASANT. EVERYONE THERE WAS GREAT!
I found Dr. Lane to be very pleasant on my very first visit with him. He was very good at explaining the procedure to me, and made sure that I was very aware of what a life style change I was going to make. He made sure I was ready to take on the challange. He has a wonderful bedside manner and he was very kind to my family members during the day of surgery.
I think that Dr. Lane is a wonderful surgeon considering I had other complications that he had to deal with during surgery. He explained everything that he did during surgery so I could understand it.
I would recommend Dr. Lane to anyone who is looking for a good, kind, and competent surgeon.
DR. BRIAN LANE WAS A WONDERFUL SURGEON. I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH MY SURGERY AND MY SCAR IS HEALING NICELY. HE TRULY DID A GREAT JOB WITH MY SURGERY. DR. LANE IS A NO-NONSENSE DOCTOR AND BLUNT IN REGARDS TO THE SURGERY AND WHETHER OR NOT YOU WOULD BE A GOOD CANDIDATE. HIS STAFF WAS VERY THOROUGH IN GETTING THE MEDICAL VERIFICATIONS NEEDED TO OK YOUR SURGERY. I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM WITHOUT RESERVATION.
When I met Dr. Lane, I had an overabundance of questions. I am an RN and had already fully researched this surgery, but I still had questions. Dr. Lane was very professional, kind and took all the time needed to answer all my questions. After my consult, I was convinced to proceed with the surgery. Dr Lane prepares you well for pre op and has a good post op plan of care also. I found him very competent and would recommend him to anyone. The facility I had my surgery at, was nice, but the rooms were way too small and having a room mate sucked. The staff was nice, but I found them very busy and task oriented. They sometimes forgot there was a person in the bed. I also found that the nursing staff did'nt always seem to have their act together. I do believe they are short staffed like the rest of the nation. But overall it was OK.
My first impression of Dr. Lane was that he is very informative, mild mannered and consoling. My impression didn't change about him. His staff is kind, but very busy and hard to reach. Dr. Lane listens very well, and is very attentative. I had a special request, No Blood, and he was eager to please. He explained everthing and went over everything for my Mom and Minister before surgery. He mentioned the risks and how he would handle them.
Dr. Lane emphasizes exercise and eatting properly...things I need work on.
Over all, Dr. Lane was absolutely wonderful.
Dr. Brian Lane of BTC in Ypslianti, Michigan is the best!!! A fine surgeon and a super, compassion human being. Everything a surgeon should be and I was fortunate enough to have him for my surgery. Upon first meeting him, I was immediately put at ease with his professional, competant demeanor. He is easy to talk to, gives thorough explanation of the surgery and all risks, but yet leaves you with the confidence that if you do your part, all will be well. He has been a blessing in my life and I will forever be grateful for his excellent care.
