Dr. Lane is dedicated to his craft and helping people save themselves from the debilitating and life-threatening disease of obesity. From my first consultation with Dr. Lane I understood how much he cared about his work. He is an expert in laparoscopic as well as high-risk surgical procedures and is able to perform many more types of bariatric surgeries than most weight-loss surgeons. Dr. Lane took every precaution possible to ensure that I was able to undergo a successful surgery. Dr. Lane’s care has been beyond what I ever expected. Dr. Lane has always made himself available for anything I need. I, quite literally, put my life in his hands, did so without hesitation, and would do so again. I am currently 6 days out from surgery and don't even feel like I had anything done. I can't believe how great it has been.

I first met with Dr. Lane and Amy in mid 2007, after going through all the insurance hurdles and finally getting approved for the 2 part DS I had surgery in March. The care prior to surgery was great and the treatment after, along with continued care has been second to none. Even with Dr. Lanes' move to UT they were able to maintain all the patient files and have continued their commitment to their patients. I met goal with the stand alone VSG in just 5 months and have been able to maintain almost effortlessly. If you are looking for a surgeon that has great support and staff and truly cares about your personal needs then Dr. Lane is the guy you want. Along with Amy they make up the most down to earth team I could have asked for. I couldn't be happier with my decision...................

I met Dr. Lane -who is NOT in Bowling Green, his assistant Amy and practice manager Darcy. I have to say WOW, I've been to surgeons in the area who made me feel that they had somewhere else (better) that they would like to be. I have some serious health issues-neither Amy or Dr. Lane were put off by that, they spent a lot of time explaining the risks and both were very knowlegable! He and his team have the most experience in the area -that makes me more comfortable and they take sicker patients like me!! rnrnthey both stress what to do after surgery and i've heard really good things about how much they care even after everyting is done. rnrnI feel that I have chosen the best surgeon in the area to handle my condition and cant wait for insurance approval

Dr. Lane took every precaution possible to ensure that I was able to undergo a complete Duodenal Switch – a more complicated and time intensive weight loss procedure than the RNY – while staying safe.rnrnDr. Lane’s post-surgical care was acceptable up to one month post-op. However, much of the aftercare I have received after one month post-surgery is lacking. Specifically, Dr. Lane and his staff have been neglectful in meeting my routine care needs. By “routine care needs” I mean things like getting prescriptions, reviewing labs, and answering non-critical questions. For instance, I e-mailed Dr. Lane my 3-month labs on September 3rd for review. He did not respond. On September 30, I sent a follow-up e-mail. Today is October 2nd and he has still not responded. Notwithstanding the above area for improvement, Dr. Lane has always made himself available for my urgent and emergency after-care. When I went to the emergency room with inexplicable pain in my foot and ankle Dr. Lane called and texted back-and-forth with me while he was at an out-of-town medical conference.rnrnI, quite literally, put my life in his hands, did so without hesitation, and would do so again.rnrn

rnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrn10/12/2007 I MET DR.LANES STAFF AND HIS SURGICAL ASSISTANT AMY. THEY ALL SEEMED VERY NICE. AMY SEEMED FULL OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE. SHE ASSIST DR.LANE IN SURGERY. I WILL MEET DR.LANE AT MY PRE OP 11/2/2007 AND WILL GIVE MY OPINION THEN. IF HE IS ANYTHING LIKE HIS STAFF, I WILL BE PLEASED. I WAS ALSO INTRIGUED THAT ON THE OFFICE WALL IS A CERTIFICATE FROM THE WALTER REED MILITARY HOSPITAL WHERE DR.LANE WAS CHIEF RESIDENT THERE AT ONE TIME. I BELIEVE IT SAID HE WAS A MILITARY MAJOR. (DON'T QUOTE ME ON THAT). I JUST FOUND THAT IMPRESSIVE.rnrn11/2/2007...I had preop today and met Dr. Lane. I really liked him. GREAT BEDSIDE MANNER ! He took all the time in the world with me and explained everything from top to bottom. I think he was a good choice.rn11/11/2007 Dismissed yetserday ! Dr. Lane was great from start through now. He seems to really care for his patients. He treated me so respectful and really seemed to care about my health. I have only good to say about the man. I reccomend him to anyone without any reservations at all. He came once or twice a day to check on me in the hospital, when he dischaged me he gave me his email address, so I could just drop him a line on how I am doing or if I have any questions. He was just A+ in my book !

Dr. Lane preformed my surgery on march 4, 2008, I've never seen him since leaving the hospitial. In April I had my second follow up appt. I saw Amy who said I needed to have a scope done immediately. They told me they would contact me with the information of when I needed to be to the hospitial for the minor surgery. It is now Sept. I've never heard from them. I am loosing weight but have a lot bowel problems (presently a bowel infection) and gas. I thank God for my pcp; Dr. E.B. Davis who has helped me emmensely throughout the last 6 months. I understand that Dr. Lane has moved on to bigger and better things, I just wonder how many of his former patients, like myself, have fallen through the cracks and have essentially been abandoned?

Please note that Dr. Brian Lane is no longer with Wood County Hospital of Bowling Green, Ohio (his replacement does NOT perform the Duodenal Switch). Dr. Lane is now the Assistant Professor of Surgery and Chief of Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery at the University of Toledo Medical Center. He is still performing the DS and is an incredibly gifted surgeon who without a doubt saved my life and countless others. If you are considering weight loss surgery of any kind (but ESPECIALLY the DS), run - don't walk - to the University of Toledo Medical Center. The phone number is 419-383-6932.

Dr. Lane will leave the Bowling Green office for good on July 1, 2008. his patients should know that the office number 419-373-7699 was to be forwarded to us, but wood county fought that and we have no way to ensure that patients who want to contact us are able to or are being given accurate information by wood county. Dr. Lane was offered a position at UTMC the university of Toledo to direct the minimally invasive surgery center. this is an excellent opportunity for him to broaden the scope of services he can offer to patients. the small community hospital was very restricting. His goal is to provide safe, innovative and up to date surgery and follow up for bariatric and general surgery patients. he will be in a much better position to do that at a university setting. the operating rooms will have more time and a greater number of patients can be accommodated. Hopefully everyone sees this as a positive move and an opportunity to continue to offer patients the best possible surgical care. rnContact him at 419-308-7322 or bariatricpa01@gmail.com his PA is joining him as well and will be happy to answer questions or help with the transition. rn

I was really looking forward to going threw with it, with dr lane. I heard awesome things about him. rnrn I am disappointed, I didn't like his staff. His assistant Ame I did really like her. I still do. I felt the staff wouldn't give me all the information I needed and what to expect. Such as I had no clue I would wake up with a drain it would have been nice to know that before waking up that way! rnrn The dr. didn't spend much time letting my husband know how everything went. He was confused of when to find me in recovery. rnrnI have been most unpleased in the followup care, I called twice in pain a week after surgery not feeling liek things were right, then developed a hard time breathing and I never got a phone call. I called 3 times. rnrn I am getting in a day early to have my drain removed Ame the assistant is seeing me. So I am thankful for that. So far that is my out take on them. I am really upset that as much money as they are making they don't have time for me. Especially since the spot where my drain is was looked at by an er dr. and found red and starting to look infected and I now have early pnemonia. rnrnJamie Beck

My first impression of him is what I think of most surgeons, highly knowledgeable but having a wet-cardboard personality. That changed however once I was through surgery and talked with him post-op. He remembered me specifically and my surgery, he also had others checking in on me secretly (giving him updates) I now think of Dr. Lane as a very considerate and gentle man. His office staff are very kind in person, but aren't sociable on the phone. Amy, his assistant makes up for the Dr.'s lack of social charm. Dr. Lane's program has excellent aftercare: Kinsey the dietician and Tara the nurse are very kind, thorough and extremely patient. With my surgery pre/post I had more dealings with Amy and that was a joy, she's not only confident but very knowledgable and well-versed in bariatric practices. I would rate Wood County Weight Loss Center as a ten (outstanding)! As I said before it is easy to dismiss Dr. Lane at first as another \"meet 'em & cleave 'em\" surgeon, but the team he has assembled works and diminshes whatever failings or shortcomings he may have.
