Brian Lane Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

I had my first consultation with Dr. Lane today. I thought he was very professional and made me feel very comfortable. He said I was a good candidate for the lap rny, which is what I wanted. When the counselor came in, I recognized her from the tv commercial. She was very helpful. I am so ready!

I had surgery with Dr Lane on 2-20-01. He was incredibly nice the morning before, assuring me he was well rested and I was his first of the day. He was with me when I woke up from Anesthesia nad had the kindest reassuring look in his eyes, that helped me immediately to ride out the stomach spasms. I remember at one point grabbing his arm and he gently held my hand for a minute til i relaxed. He came to see me every day post op, and answered all my questions very detailed. I was in the BTC hospital for 3 1/2 days, and would rate the hospital itself an 80%. It is under construction and I heard all the banging and whatnot from about 8am til 7 or 8pm at night. Some of the nursing staff was a bit harsh, but for the most part I would rate them all in general a 90%. The precare and after care staff I would rate %95. I can say all in all I would use the BTC again without question.

MY SURGEN IS DR. BRAIN LANE HE IS VERY NICE AND UNDERSTANDING I FELT VERY COMFORTABLE WITH HIM. HE TOLD ALL THE GOOD AND THE BAD AND ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTION.I PRAY FOR HIS HANDS EVERY DAY.

DR. LANE WAS VERY IMFORMATIVE ON THE SURGERY. HE WAS VERY GOOD ABOUT ANSWERING ALL MY QUESTIONS.
THE STAFF WAS OF GREAT HELP FROM THE START. ESPECIALLY THE INSURANCE. THEY TOOK CARE OF EVERYTHING.

My first impression was very professional and kind. I really liked him and had a great sense of confidence in is ability. He really took his time with my questions and seemed very positive about my future success with the surgery. So far I think he is great!

Dr. Lane appeared friendly and knowledgable but was just a bit "formal". However, my sense of humor seem to relax him some and the consultation went well. He answered all of my questions. He didn't seem to become annoyed when I questioned regarding the number of surgeries he had performed and his previous surgical procedures. He seem "surprised" by my knowledge of the procedures and other medical practices.
The patient counselor was friendly, encouraging and helpful. The nurse was rather aloof amd not at all friendly. I shall be able to update more on Dr. Lane after my surgery.

I met Dr. Lane at my initial consultation with BTC. He was very nice and very informative. Completely reviewed the surgery and even drew a picture! Office staff at BTC in Ann Arbor was nice. I am still waiting for insurance approval. I just changed health insurance carriers, so I had to start all over again with my claim. I am hoping to have better contact with the new person who handles my insurance claim through BTC. My previous claim took over 3 months and went practically no where. I realize it's because I didn't follow up as often as I should have. This time I am going to call them once a week until we get this approved.

Dr. Lane and his assistant Dr. Liu were very concerned about my health and the postponement.
He even went down and talked to my husband about the safety and why we had to wait. we appreciated his
concern.

Dr. Lane, who is from Kansas, now in Ann Arbor Mi is a wonderful man. He is very knowledgeable, and an expert in his field. I had my initial consultation with him on Oct 13. I felt very comfortable with him, and he seemed to treat me as a person, not just the next patient on his list of people to see that day. He gave me a lot of information and answered all my questions, silly ones too ! I will be honored to have him as my surgeon

Dr. Lane has transferred to the Bariatric Treatment Center in Ann Arbor, MI. My first impression of Dr. Lane was that he is a very serious man. He knows his stuff and is very serious about what he does and that made me feel good. I felt very comfortable being with him and talking to him. He was very patient and explained the whole procedure in detail to my mother and I(from the pros to all of the cons)and answered all of our questions. There was nothing about him that I disliked. He emphasized that the aftercare program is very important and he suggested going to the support group meetings that are held at the center. I would rate him a 10 and I haven't even had surgery yet! I feel very comfortable with him and am sure that he is the right surgeon to have WLS with.
