I went to Dr.Gandsas last year. He performed my surgery in May 2007 I was 408 lost 20 pounds prior to surgery now i am 355 pounds and counting. hes a sweetheart. and cute too..lol . he was professional and honest. and straightforward. when i feel comfortable with a Dr. that tells me a lot. he made sure my before and aftercare was taken care of properly. i had no issues surgery came out great. yes he has a great bedside manner which is important to me as a patient. i give him 4 stars. he saved my life. i thank him .rnFrom Paula Cuffie

My first impression of Dr. Gandsas was great. I went to another pre-op information session in the DC area and was not impressed. The staff that works with Dr. Gandsas is as great as he is in every way. Every seminar and office visit made me feel more comfortable. I have been very pleased with the entire experince. The hospital stay at Sinai was pleasant and the medical staff was helpful and friendly. I attend the seminars offered by Dr. Gandsas and his nutritionist, Nancy. Thus far all the have been helpful both pre-op and post-op and the faciltators are informed and insightful.rnrnI am a very thorough person and do not make rash decisions or mince words. I cannot express enough how great my experience with Dr. Gandsas, his staff, and the hospital staff has been throughout this process. I look forward to attending the seminars offered each month and working with this stellar team.

HE LOOKS LIKE A QUIET AND LEARNERED MAN. HIS OFFICE STAFF ARE NICE AND PROFFESIONALS. MY SURGEON HAS A NICE BEDSIDE MANNER COMPARED TO MOST DOCTOCS. PATIENTS SHOULD KNOW THEY ARE IN SAFE HANDS WITH HIM. HIS EXPLANATION ABOUT THE SURGERY AND RISK WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL. HE GAVE HIS STATISTICS WHICH IS IMPRESSIVE AND I WAS SUPRISED BECAUSE MOST DOCTORS DO NOT GIVE YOU THAT AT ALL. EVERYTHING ABOUT HIM IS GREAT.rn

Dr. Gandsas is a wonderful and personalrndoctor. He has always been pleasant andrneasy to talk to. Any questions I had ,he was able to explain so that I understood the answer. I was very at ease with him.rnMy operations went well. When I woke up , he was one of the first people I remember talking to. He and staff doctors checked inrnwith me several times during my stay. Dr.rnGandsas also visited me via a mobile computer robot.rnThe office staff was great. They helped getrnthrough all the things that I needed to get rndone. Even when I called several timesrnin a day , they were always professional.

I had a very pleasant surgical experience. Dr. G took the time to illustrate examples of the procedure and the pros as well as cons. I was very nervous beforehand but on the day of he made me feel very relaxed. post op he or bari the bariatric robot visited me several time to ensure my comfort as well as my condition. He came to see me personally on the day of discharge. Also Nancy the dietician/nutritionist has been so pleasant and helpful in assisting me to obtain the tools I will need for this lifestyle change.All of the nurses in the OR were so kind and helped to alleviate my fears. On my one week post op visit I did feel a little rushed through the appointment however but that was very minor. My overall satisfaction rating was definitly a 10.

My first impression of Dr. Gandsas was that he shoots straight from the hip. He gave facts and allow everyone the opportunity to make a decision based on the facts. When I finally met with Dr. Gandsas I was a bit taken back because I thought he was standoffish to me. His office staff was fantastic. He has people in his office who actually has gone through this experience and therefore is a support to someone going through this entire process for the first time.rnI had my surgery on 11/22/06 and I have had zero regrets. I attribute my health and weight loss to a couple of things... 1. Dr. Gandsas because he is fantastic. 2. Following the aftercare process currently. 3. Contact with the nutritionist when there are questions, etc. I would recommend Dr. Gandsas to everyone not only because was successful but because of his ability and knowledge in the bariatric field of surgery. After having dealing with post ops for the past 5 months I would have to say that before my surgery I need a surgeon that I felt had surgical competence but after I need someone with bedside manner and I had both with Dr. Gandsas. He is the best beyond a shadow of a doubt. I have friends who have had the surgery else where and there knowledge base is nothing compared to what the expectations that Dr. Gandsas sets for his patients.

My first impression of Dr. Gandsas was a very friendly one. During each visit I obtained more and more info on the physician that was intended to do my surgery. The office staff are very friendly. I could not have asked for a more friendlier staff or group of office members. I think future patients should know that Dr. Gandsas and his administrative staff are the best. After my surgery and I was discharged, I had phone calls from hospital staff on my recovery process, which really shocked me. Never before have I had such an experience. My aftercare will be very structural. It's a life altering experience. The nutritionist is very dedicated to the recovery and nutrition of each and every patient. All things about surgery were discussed with each and every visit. With each visit Dr. Gandsas asked me do I fully understand the procedure. With the care I received at the hospital with the assisting physicians and Dr. Gandsas was extraordinary. Each day that I was there, Dr. Gandsas visited me several times a day. I would rate my doctor on a scale from 1-10 a 10, of knowledge, compassion, dedication and caring. All things matter when you choose a office staff and doctor, surgical competence and bedside manner.

I met Dr. Gandsas at a siminar and was very impressed. As time went on I became comfortable and felt like he's someone I could trust. The office staff is very friendly and they work hard to have you seen in a timely manner. Everyone should no that Dr. Gandsas is professional and a man about his word. Everything that he explained about the surgery before is exactly how it went. After the surgery, I was visited by him and support staff encouraging me to do the things that we discussed prior. They made sure that I was not in any pain and that my stay for my husband and I was comfortable. I like the follow up process because not only did the work with me before and during the surgery, they are working hand and hand with me to make sure that I'm well post-op. I was informed about risks of the surgery. He told me of how many surgeries that he performed, how many complications, and how many deaths. I felt that was personal. Dr. Gandsas has a partner \" Barry\". Barry is a robot who comes to your room during your hosipital stay and visits you just as if a doctor would. Barry asked me questions and I answered. He also turned around and asked my husband if he had any questions. I was very impressed. Overall I would rate Dr. Gandsas as an excellent doctor. If ther is anyone in the Baltimore or surrounding area thinking about having barriactric surgery give Dr. Gandsas and his team a call. His staff is extremely welcoming and friendly.

I have only had 5 days since surgery, so I'm learining as I go along. rnrnBut as for Dr. Gandsas, he is meticulous with his patients. He wants only the best for you. His staff is nice and care to know and talk with you. They all want to help you have a successful surgery and recovery. Go to Dr. Gandsas office and find out for yourself.

Dr. Gandsas is simply wonderful. He is thorough and compassionate. While he is clearly an expert in his field - with many, many patients - he treats and respects each person as an individual with unique perspectives. His program does not only offer treatment, but also education. While I have seen many doctors regarding my health issues, Dr. Gandsas is unique in making sure I completely understand what is happening without being condescending. Additionally, his \"talk\" is backed by amazing results. In the less than three months that I have known him and his team - I have lost nearly 60 pounds! He was an encouraging factor in my success, and I highly recommend him!
