Dr. Gandsas and his staff are really concerned about their patient well being. I had my surgery on January 2, 2013 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center and I would recommend Dr. Gandsas to anybody that is interested on having a bariatric procedure done. He has really good bedside manners besides being an awesome surgeon.

My original surgeon that I consulted with was Louis Balsama. He left UMDNJ and opened his own practice so now Dr. Gandsas is taking over and he was very nice in the 10mins I spent with him. haha..Although I do live in NJ thats crazy if he travels from NJ-MD every wk!

Of course, as most people, Dr. Gandsas seemed a little reserved, but once you get in your alone time with him, he is a very funny, yet knowledgeable guy. His staff(especially Tammy)is just as polite, professional and full of life as I have ever encountered in a doctors office! They gladly answered any/all questions and even calmed me down down my anxiety moments. In all, I can not think of a more qualified surgeon, or staff, for my procedure and if his bedside manner is anything like his professionalism, this is going to be a great journey after all.

My first impression of Dr. Gandsas was...He is super quiet. He answers any questions with more information then you imagined, very detailed.rnOver time Dr. Gandsas seemed to open up and talk more, even laughing a time or two. rnrnHis office staff is wonderful especially Nancy Lum his dietitian, any questions you have you can call or email her and she will respond immediately, even general WLS questions not related to food. rnrnI would highly recommend Dr. Gandsas to anybody seeking WLS, you will not be disappointed with his care. After your surgery when he comes in to see you can tell he truely cares about how you are doing and feeling. From 1 to 10 I would give him an 11!rn

My third office visit with Dr. Gandsas, (which was my pre-opt appt) was a WINNER! He seemed a lot more relaxed this time and we had a nice chat. I think he is a bit misunderstood. I agree that at times he seems a bit quiet and standoffish, but the most important thing to keep in mind is his abilities as a surgeon. I feel like he was very willing to answer all my questions and I even got him to laugh a bit this time! I want to also say that his staff is WONDERFUL! Every person I've dealt with at his office has been helpful and friendly. He has an awesome on-staff nutritionist, Nancy, who is always available to answer nutritional questions and concerns. So far, I would recommend Dr. Gandsas to my friends and family for sure.

My first impression of Dr. Gandsas was that he was really quiet and seemed to have alot of knowledge about all the types of surgery. My previous surgeon wanted to do the Gastric bypass on me but he pointed out that with me already extremely anemic the bypass could make things alot worse for me with the malabsorbtion and recommended the sleeve. The office staff is very nice. They stay really busy and sometimes can be a little short, but overall very friendly and eager to help you get on your way. I haven't actually had surgery yet, so bedside manner I can't really rate, so far the treatment in the office is great and overall out of 10, I rate him and his staff at a 9. Will update more following surgery.

i think he is a kewl guy. he seems to be very supportive and actually help me decide which surgery was best for me. At Sinai, they recommend a nutrition class for a year. This should definitely keep me on point. So far so good...
