Dr Gadsas is a great surgeon.
Most of all he is a very likeable and approachable person. He does not hesitate to give you the pros and the cons of bariactric surgery.
He employs a great staff, they are friendly and will have you laughing at each appointment.
They are really adament about patients following -up. Dr. gandsas even goes as far as to say that after surgery we are all married to him. So thus we must continually make our follow-up appointments.
Overall I would rank my surgeon and staff a 10( scale 1-10, 10 best)
Dr. Gandsas is totally competent and the little he lacks in bedisde manner, his staff picks up the torch.

i love my doctor. he is very professional and courteous. he explains everything and i didn't have any worries. my impression of him over time only got better. his office staff, especially tonya are wonderful. very helpful. if you call tonya and leave a message she will get right back to you and if you need to reschedule an appointment the office staff will do it for you. i can't think of anything i don't like about him. i think future patients should know that he is honest and if he tells you something he means it. dr. gandsas stresses aftercare. he says you are married to him for life! he said to me once...i did my part now you do yours!! he does have a structured aftercare program. your appointments are scheduled at 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 18 months and 2 years. you have to have blood work everytime. he was brutely honest about the risks of surgery and i really appreciated that. he told me the risks of surgery and what to expect. on a scale of 1 to 10 i would rate him a 20! i think that surgical competence is much more important than beside manner but i didn't have to give one up for the other because i got both in my doctor!

03/27/03 This was my surgery day and everything went really well for me. Dr. Gandsas and his staff were AWESOME. Each day gets better and better. I can never say enough about Dr. Gandsas and nurse Tonya. To all of the pre-ops, I know that it may seem it's taking forever for your candidacy paper to be accepted, a call to get returned or your insurance to be approved, but just wait upon the Lord and He will work it all out for you. Many Blessings!!!

Wonderful, I knew when I met him he was the surgeon for me. Very kind honest and caring. Over the past 6 months I have grown much more found of him, he has always been very honest about the surgery's risks and what he expects from his patients.
His staff is wonderful expecially Ms. Tonya, always very kind and well spoken. I think she has a very busy job and does everything she can to help you through the process as soon as possible.
All patients should know that he expects you to follow his rules. Especially aftercare, as he mentioned in one of our support groups that he has a life time commitment to all his patients and he expected us to feel the same way similar to being married to someone. He was very upfront about the surgery and talked very openly at all support groups and in his office about the risks of this surgery.

I think Dr. Gandsas is the greatest, I would rate him top notch as a surgeon and a wonderful caring person.

So far Dr. Gandsas has been really nice and has built a rapport with all of previous patients. He tells the good and bad side of surgery, as not to make it seem like an 'easy fix'.
His staff is very cordial.

Dr. Gandsas, from the moment I met him, was very personable and easy to talk with. He answered all my questions...until I had finished my very long list! He never once made me feel as if he was in a hurry to get through our appointment, and that was important to me. From the beginning, I felt comfortable with Dr. Gandsas and felt good about asking him any questions I might come up with.
As it came time for my surgery, I became increasingly comfortable with my surgeon, did extensive research on him, knew his qualifications and everything he'd done professionally. I believe in research, and he really passed the test! What amazed me was that such an accomplished, scientific person could also be so down to earth and approachable.
I'm one week post-op, and Dr. Gandsas still has been very approachable and concerned...far beyond what most people might expect from a busy surgeon.
I think that patients should know that Dr. Gandsas wants them to take this surgery as seriously as he does. He wants them to be ready to work at this. It's not easy! He makes sure that they realize this is a change in the way they live their life, and he expects them to follow all the rules, dot all the i's, cross all the t's...and work at it.
I'm just in my first week of aftercare, so I'll be sure to post more later.
Right now, I can't say enough good things about this surgeon. Dr. Gandsas is Top-knotch!!

My 1st impression of Dr. Gandsas was that he was very kind and that he did care about me and my health! The only way that my impression changed over time with Dr. Gandsas was every time that I went to see him or during my surgery I had the utmost respect for him, because he isn't just a top notch surgeon but, he is a real life human being that really cared about people. His office staff is AWESOME Tonya his nurse is GREAT she is always helpful, friendly and kind NO MATTER WHAT. I really don't know if there would be anything that I didn't like about Dr. Gandsas, the only thing that would be close to being negative is that you might have to wait awhile to see him in the office. But, when it comes to your turn he spends a lot of time with you. (It's definately worth the wait!) His patients should know that Dr. Gandsas expects you to be very committed to yourself and to this procedure. (Post-OP Diet and EXERCISE!!) Dr. Gandsas has a very structured aftercare on post op visits to see him in the office. He attends the support group meetings so if you have a question if you go to the meetings you can count on seeing him at least once a month!! Dr. Gandsas goes over the whole surgery & risk one on one before the surgery.
I would rate him the BEST Biarictric Surgeon. I know that no one is perfect but, he is very close! Surgical Competence, bedside manner are both awesome. THe whole team is great! Dr. Adrian Park also works along side of him and he is also a GREAT person!

I am scheduled for my psyhciatric evaluation. The doctor's nurse coordinator told me that if I clear that hurdle then they would schedule my consultation with the surgeon.

Dr. Gandsas is a very compassionate person. When I went into his office looking to speak to his nurse, and she was in a meeting, he came out into the hallway and talked to me directly. He probably takes more precautions than any other surgeon I have ever seen, but he does this in the best interest of his patients. He is humerous and really down to earth. He seems to care about his patients on an emotional level as well as physical. I am glad I went to him for my surgery. I only regret that he was in Vegas at a seminar when I was re-hospitalized.

I saw my surgeon today for the first time. I was very pleased. He was very patient and caring. I felt very nervous about the whole process before. I am no longer nervous and feel that everything will be fine. I work for a very caring and qualified doctor and I expect nothing less in the doctors that treat me. I was not dissappointed in Dr. Gandsas. I could not find anything to complain about.
I was also very pleased with his assistant and coordinator Tonya. She was very nice and informative and I felt she would do all she could to help me with this process.
I will have another visit with Dr.Gandsas when my surgery time comes and I will keep posting as my journey continues.
