I just met Dr. Gandsas on 7/12/2004 @ my first support group meeting. My first impression of him was that Safety matters most. During his discussion it was very evident that Dr. Gandsas goes above and beyond for his patients to ensure their surgery is a success! His sense of humor was unbelievable! I am thankful to have him as my surgeon! His office staff are very busy, but take the time for you. They are almost more excited than you are when you get good news! I have not found anything that I don't like about Dr. Gandsas. My next support group meeting will address the risks/complications of surgery. I have found his support meetings to be very informative!

He is fantastic. He is compassionate, caring and very thorough. As time goes on, I have more and more respect for him. He has never let me down. His office staff is fantastic and always helpful and willing to listen. I have nothing bad to say. He is great!!!!

I first met Dr. Gandsas at his support group meeting and was very impressed that he took the time to host his own support group. I had been to another bariatric doc in the Baltimore area and he did not attend his meetings. Dr. Gandsas seems very knowledgeable about this entire process of having laparoscopic bariatric surgery. Three days after meeting him at his support group meeting, I was scheduled for my office visit. Again, he answered any and every question I had for him and there were tons! I felt guilty taking so much time but he fully understands and appreciates the level of interest that patients take in this complex surgery. Future patients should feel completely at ease with him. He doesn't have the number of cases under his belt that other Baltimore physicians have but he has the experience, the know how and the eagerness to help people through every step of this surgery. He not only demonstrated complete surgical competence but has excellent, motivating bedside manner!

He's funny, and he genuinly trys to make you feel comfortable and know what you're getting into. I saw two surgeon's before him, and never felt comfortable going through with it. My 2nd apt. with Gandsas i had my surgery date!!! I'm going on July 2, 2004. Wish me luck!! :)

The office staff is INCREDIBLE!! Eileen, his secretary is also post op so she understands everything all of us is giong through. I call her once a week or so just to check in on my file.

The support groups at sinai are fun. They normally have a guest speaker first(which is boring most of the time), then Gandsas goes over risks and different things associated with it, and then questions afterwards.

I would rate him and his office a 9.8... not a 10 yet because i havn't had the surgery yet :)

I contacted his office and spoke to his office and I requested a packet once I received I Completed it and submitted my packet to his office in September 2003.I didn't hear anything til Christmas Eve and his assistant Eileen called is a very pleasant exciting voice and said I have good new. Dr Gandsas has excepted you packet for review and wnat o set up an appointment. I saw him January 15th and schuduled my surgery that day for March 2,2004. Eileen sent to me the following week everything I had to do Dates times directions everything was formated and went so quickly. I loved that he wanted to know everything about me my lifestyle, family, health. He was so nice and listened and did not rush through anything I attented 2 support groups which where great provided alot of info and I was amazed at the attendance. My overall view of Dr. Gandsas everything about him and Nancy,Eileen,Karen is wonderful supportive, compassionate, funny, through detail detail they truley care about each and every patient on a one on one.WONDERFUL TEAM Love Them. and the nurses at sinia where great. Thanks Barbara (fifth floor.)
Just to mention The night before my surgery Eileen called me gave me her personal cell # wanted to wish me the best. and after my surgery she told me that in order for Dr Gandsas to do my surgery instead of cancelling because his wife was very sick with the flu. and counln't care for there son that Eileen babysat and cared for Dr G's wife that day. I am very thankful They just didn't cancel me.

Dr. Gandsas is now located at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD. My first impression was of a very dedicated, caring health professional. My first impression was exactly right. When I met with him, he was open, caring, and very dedicated to his profession and my health.

The office staff at this point consists of one enthusiastically dedicated individual "Eileen". She is wonderful, answering any questions you have, always with a smile and very happy for you as you progress through the program.

Aftercare is emphasized emphatically! Dr. Gandsas says you will be "married" to him. He has structured aftercare appointments with himself and the nutritionist.

Dr. Gandsas is very honest, he discussed in detail during my very first support group meeting what the risks were.

Dr. Gandsas is caring, compassionate, exacting and has a wondeful bedside manner. His staff is also very professional and caring. All are easy to talk to, even about the most intimate of questions that arise. Dr. Gandsas lets his patients know from day one that he and they are making a lifetime commitment to a partnership in health.

Dr. Gandsas is now the head of Bariatric & Advanced Laposcopic Surgery at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore.

My first impression is thorough, competent, and cautious. He "tells it like it is" and stresses the "lifetime" comittment for success and health.

I am his second scheduled surgery in Baltimore and my experience with he and his staff have been excellent.

Thus far, he's had two support groups. They will evolve as there are both pre- and post-op participation.

More to follow as my journey moves forward.

My first impression was that he didnt want to do the surgery on me. My impressions changed a whole lot over time. If it wasnt for is office staff he would have a lot of headaches. He was there everyday after my surgery trying to figure out what was wrong with me and i really appreciated it a whole lot. Dr. Gandsas makes sure you know the risks of the surgery and makes you feel good about it all at the same time. I would rate him as a 10 and that being the highest. Both his surgical competence and bed side manner was great and that made me feel a lot better about him.
