My first impresson of Dr. BC was a little "cold" but hey, he told me what was going to happen and it was to the point. But When I went in for surgery he was very nice and concerned about how I was feeling. When I went in for my chest x-ray I was feeling really nausiated and he put his hand on my back and asked me how I was feeling. But other then that I would only see him in the mornings and he would ask me some questions and If I had any for him. He didn't sit there and chit chat with ya but hey, he's a doctor and had things to do and patients that were waiting for him. He does emphasize the aftercare a great deal. If you don't follow directions, you will be back in the hospital. Trust me, I'm following my book to a tee. He was very knowledgeable about the risks and it kinda scared me but I knew I was doing he right thing. I would rate Dr.BC an 8. He is a great surgeon, my scar looks good, so what I'm told by all the nurse ther, but as far as bedside mannor, He just want's to get he job done and be on his way. The "Great Surgeon" is far more important then a bed side mannor, ANYDAY!

My first impression of Doctor Batay-Csorba was a good one. My husband and I both liked him from the start. He was very professional and matter of fact. He told us exactly what could happen as far as complications and assured us this was only a tool and I would have alot of changing to do to make this work. I had surgery on January 2, 2003, and my opionion of Doctor is still the same. I have lost 55 pounds in 7 weeks! I love this man, he has given me my life back! I cannot believe how wonderful I feel already, and I still have 180 pounds to loose yet. At my six week check-up he went on and on about how wonderful I was doing and how proud he was of me. Every time I see him, he shakes my hand when entering the room and again when leaving. I like this it makes things very comfortable and like he really cares. I believe he does care! Most of the aftercare was covered by the Nutritionalist who was also wonderful. They always have such wonderful ideas. All in all this has been a very positive experience for me.

My first impression was that he was very confident. He was quick to answer all my questions and did a very thorough job at explaining the procedure. He was very specific about the aftercare and very strict about the "no solid food for 6-weeks" rule. I was happy about that because he was looking out for my safety. If I had to try and find anything negative after my first visit it would only be to say that he was not a "warm fuzzy" type of person, but that was fine. When he met with me the first time, he had no idea if I would even be his patient.

MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR. BATAY WAS PLEASANT. HE WAS VERY PERSONABLE, PRECISE AND TO THE POINT. HE EXPLAINED THE SURGICAL PROCEDURE, ASKED ME SOME QUESTIONS THEN TOLD ME I WAS A CANDIDATE. HE GAVE ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS I HAD.

THE OFFICE STAFF WERE SIMPLY GREAT. EVERYONE SAID HELLO AS YOU PASSED THEM.

DR. BATAY EMPHASIZED AFTERCARE STRONGLY. AS WELL AS THE BEFORE CARE. I AM A SMOKER (WAS A SMOKER) AND HE SAID HE WOULDN'T PERFORM THE SURGERY UNTIL I QUIT FOR AT LEAST TWO MONTHS.

THE BTC HAS A VERY STRUCTURED AFTERCARE PROGRAM.

Dr. B-C is a very straight forward kind of guy. He will give you all the statistics and a very good explanation of the surgery. He answered any and all questions that I had and continues to be very confident in my follow up care. He seems to have a 'dry' personality, but his mission is to give me the surgery and take care of me post-op. He has done these things superbly. He is very adamant in sticking to the 'rules' and obviously wants to see you succeed. He was great.

Dr. Batay-Csorba was very "professional and thoughtful". He seemed to stick to the facts and keep it in a clinical manner. I rather liked this aspect of him. I also was quite pleased to see that he was concerned with some other aspects of my overall health, not just my "weight loss" history.

BTC seems to have an aftercare program that they have developed that is quite extensive. The risks of the surgery were laid out to me, and addressed. They also seem to be addressed in the aftercare program that BTC has in place.

I think that I am most concerned with the competency of Dr. Batay-Csorba, than I am with his bedside manner, but as you know, different strokes...

I HAD MY FIRST CONSULT WITH DR. BATAY AT BTC IN YPSILANTI, MI. ON DEC. 6TH. HE ASKED ME NUMEROUS QUESTIONS ABOUT MYSELF AND I IN TURN ASKED HIM QUITE A FEW OF MY OWN...THANKS TO THE MANY GENEROUS PEOPLE ON THIS SIGHT, I KNEW WHAT KINDS OF THINGS TO ASK. I FELT VERY COMFORTABLE WITH HIM AND FELT HE WAS VERY KNOWLEDGABLE. HE HAS DONE OVER 2500 SURGERIES IN THE LAST FIVE YEARS. I'M VERY GLAD TO BE WITH A SURGEON WHO SPECIALIZES IN WLS ONLY

Dr. Batay-Csorba is, in my opinion, a very skilled surgeon. My experience with him was what everyone wants - uneventful. My scar, which was rather large, healed beautifully with no infections. Post-op went just as planned. I suppose I'd have more to say if I'd had problems that he'd had to deal with, but everything went as it was supposed to.

If he has a negative, and I'm not convinced this truly is a negative, it's that he is rather reserved and somewhat aloof. If you need a lot of hand-holding and pats on the back, you may want to choose someone else. But frankly I couldn't care less about that; I wanted a skilled surgeon who knew what he was doing, and that's what Dr. Batay-Csorba is.

So far I have been very impressed with Dr. Batay-Csorb. My 12 year old daughter and my husband were with me for both consultations and he was very thorough and patient with all of us in answering each of our questions. He seems very kind and thorough and has an excellent reputation. My family doctor said he is the best at BTC and the best in the mid Michigan area. We shall see. Surgery is not for 6 more weeks (March 10, 2003).

He is a very serious DR but he was very imformative and answered all my questions and just helpful. I have only met him once but I am due to see him again on Feb 3rd for my Pre Admission testing.
