I began my journey to have WLS in May, 2002. After seeing all the specialists, having all the tests, etc. I was scheduled for a consultation with Dr. Waldrep. I had seen Dr. Waldrep and Dr. Suh at many of the Support Group meetings prior to my appointment. It wasn't until I was in the SPA (Surgery Preperation Area) when I asked to MEET Dr. Waldrep (in-person) for the first time. After all..... I want to shake hands with the Dr. who is going to be practically saving my life! Although I had never met Dr. Waldrep, I know his staff. Michelle, Terra, Robin, Beth and Lori are the most caring, supportive group of ladies I have ever met. They made me feel so important! I could call any of them about anything and they were willing to help and give support. Knowing how wonderful the staff was, I had more than 100% confidence in Dr. Waldrep. Since I was active in the support group meetings, I met several others who have been touched by this wonderful Dr. I was originally scheduled 12/02, but was postponed due to health issues. I was so frustrated, but later thankful as their concern probably saved my life! My surgery was a huge success on 1/27/03. I have diabetes (juvenile) and was back in the hospital a few days later with dehydration. Dr. Waldrep and Suh came to check on me daily, and so did some of his staff (what a GREAT group of girls!). I was quickly back on my feet and out of the hospital again. It has been 2 weeks now and I feel great! I had absolutely NO pain from the surgery at all! I still wonder if Dr. Waldrep actually did anything to my stomach... or are these tiny lines on my stomach just for show??? I am thankful for the support group as that is where I met the most helpful people. I think Dr. Waldrep is the most professional, down to earth Dr.'s that I have ever met. He cares about everyone and wants to make sure everyone is ok. I look forward to my new life and journey ahead. :o)

My first impression of Dr. Waldrep was OMG he is a knock out absoulutely gorgious. My impression of him hasnt changed a bit he is still handsome, and has the bedside manner to match. He is an extremly a very dedicated doctor and works very long hours. He loves his job and has dedicated himself to helping the obeseity problem in anyone life. He also has another Dr. in his practice named Dr.Sau he also is awesome and very dedicated to his work and patients. The office staff is awesome. They are very helpful and it only took 1 time for me to get approved and I was shocked. They are very organized and helpful to the patients and to one another. They have a nurse that is so sweet and wonderful if you call with a question she always give an answer or will find the answer for you.I havent foound anything yet that I dislike about the Dr's or their office staff. They emphasize aftercare alot and go thru everything with you complete with handouts and instructions. I rate this office and the Dr's the very highest 10 in the world. They are awesome and wonderful and I highly reccomend them to anyone. The held a afternoon conference which covered the surgery and also the risk and success of it very imformative. I think both are extremly impportant bedside manner and competence and skill. They are the best in Roseville and the Sacramento area. Thanks, Kathy

Actually I was 'John come lately' to the consultation and missed introductions. It wasn't until Dr. Waldrep was done w/his portion of the consultation that I found his picture in the handout and realized who I was listening to!!

He seems to be really nice so far from what I know so far. His staff was great to. I also got to meet Dr. Suh who was also very nice.

I was so incredibly impressed by the information and the organization of the consultation. It was four hours long w/a brief intermission. It was perfect though. There was so much great information and plenty of opportunities to ask the doctors and their staff questions from Pre-Op to Pymt Options.

So far I give Dr. Waldrep & Dr. Suh and A+!

I haven't met Dr. Waldrep in person yet. However, the medical office where I had a mamogram done said that he was the best. A lady that I worked with said that he was the best. My Bariatric physician said that he was the best. I've also seen his picture and he's pretty good looking.

I liked Dr. Waldrep and his staff. Everyone has been very nice, supportive, and helpful throughout this process.
They tell you all you wanted to know about the surgery and some you didn't want to know "the scary stuff" however, this is very open and honest assessment of what could happen during and after surgery.
Dr.Waldrep is very sensitive to what it is like for us now and he is very committed to helping me attain my goals. He has a plan of after care and all the tests and appointments before hand just help you be assured that you know what you are getting into and the after effects of your surgery. Your life won't be the same and neither will your eating. I haven't had my surgery yet, but so far I feel confident that he is a skilled surgeon and he definately knows what he is doing.

I met Dr. Waldrep at the three hour group consult in November that is required of all prospective clients. He was extremely helpful and informative, as well as friendly and witty. His office staff was there to take all vital information. They also were very professional and friendly. During the consult, Dr. Waldrep answered all questions asked by clients and went into great detail about the surgery, the risks, benefits, and what after care will be like. I left more convinced than ever that I was making the right choice and had chosen the right doctor. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Waldrep to anyone seeking information regarding this surgery.

He seemed knowledgable as well as friendly. I have not had that much contact with him to this point so will have to wait and see. His office staff has been wonderful. They are so friendly and reassuring. I felt as if they weren't disgusted by my weight as others have been in the past. I can't think of anything I disliked about him to this point and really couldn't advise anyone. They do have an aftercare program and a structured eating program the first 4 weeks after surgery. That is all I have been given to this point. They gave us an entire booklet on the risks and possible problems after surgery. I would rate him highly at this time. Who knows after surgery. Am still pre-op so can't answer much more.

I went to my first consultation and I learned a lot. The staff was very nice and made me feel welcome and comfortable. Dr. Waldrep led the consultation and discussed the surgical process.

Dr. Waldrep and his staff also discussed what other criteria must be met in order to get a surgery date. These included a psych evaluation, a consultaion with a bariatric doctor, and a few tests that varied for each individual based on their history.

While I was getting these tests and appointments completed I was able to contact Waldrep's office and they were always more than helpful. All insurance questions were handled by Robin.

My wife helped me with most of the contact with the doctor's office and she said they were always helpful and informative.

I am due for my pre-op appointment soon. I will update how this went after I attend.

All went extremely well. Waldrep and Suh are the greatest. My surgery went very well and the follow up was great. I really enjoy these two surgeons. I highly reccommend them to anyone.

I completed my first consultation with both Drs. Waldrep and Suh and they were both very
charming and funny. We covered alot of information and the morning was very well organized
I left the consultation with renewed hope that this is really going to happen. He promised we
would be hearing from his office soon and that average wait for surgery is 6 to 12 weeks.
I give both Drs. Waldrep and Suh a 10/10.

My Doctor has changed from Patching to Waldrep. I went to my 1st consult and Dr. Waldrep was not there. However, Dr. Suh was. They had nurses there to weigh us, take our blood pressure. Dr. Suh gave an informative presentation, not too long or short. It seems like what I need to do is get my insurance info ready and get everything over to Robin. The staff was very helpful, and the hospital was clean, it did'nt even feel like a hospital. I still havent met Dr. Waldrep. Iv'e met dr Suh. So far so good.
