I had my first appt with Dr. DeWitt on April 20th. After the loooong wait in the waiting room, I finally got to see him around 5:45pm. I found Dr DeWitt a very and understanding doctor. He seemed sincere and very good bedside manners. He went over the surgery with my husband, and explained everything in detail. I'm looking for a long patient relationship with him.
I really like Dr. Dewitt. It took approximately 5 months to get in to see him and I had to wait several hours at my appointment. I was not disappointed. His main concern was that I understood the surgery and all of the risks and he wanted to address any questions that I might have. Everyone that I have come in contact with at the office has been very nice and helpful.
04/19/04 It's been almost 3 months since I've had surgery and I am so glad that I chose Dr. Dewitt. He is fantastic and very caring and personable. If you are looking for a surgeon. He is worth the drive and the wait. His office staff has been very nice to me with any questions that I have had. I've had a kidney stone since surgery. Dr. Dewitt made sure that I was taken good care of and it wasn't even his problem! He is a blessing!!! His Momma raised him right!!
I met Dr. DeWitt in February at the seminar, and I was very impressed from the start. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about him, and I think he lived up to my expectations. He was very informative at both the seminar and the initial consultation...patiently answering questions and asking them as well. He seemed to think I would be a good candidate for this surgery. I am very impressed with the before and aftercare that Dr. DeWitt requres. I have complete confidence in his surgical ability and bedside manner.
From beginning to now, Dr. Dewitt has been wonderful. He and his staff gave me complete information about how it will go and it did. No surprises ! I had a friend did post op WLS with another Dr. and I called Dr. Dewitt's service on Sunday. He called me back and talked me out of a panic attack. He was concerned about me and compassionate about the loss of my friend. He is just a great surgeon and a great man. I recommend his to anyone who wants to change their life.
Dr.Dewitt seems like a nice guy,he did not rush me and he seems very confident in what he does, he addressed the risks and benefits of this surgery. His office is not really designed for large people, the lab chair is sooo small i almost did not fit, i felt quiet awkward, but that will have to be o.k. i guess.
Now that i have lost some weight and saw Dr. Dewitt a few times & got to know him a little better, he really is a great guy he is really "down to earth" and a wondeful surgeon as well. I would definetly recomend him to anyone needing the surgery!
