Dr. DeWitt is very personable. He actually takes the time during your consultation appt. to talk with you and answers any/all questions that you have. What I liked most about him is his personality and his approachability. His office staff is very accomodating and made everything very easy, including the insurance. They contacted my insurance company for me and took care of clearing it with them.

Dr. DeWitt strongly emphasizes walking before discharge and hydration. In fact, he will not discharge you until you walk a certain amount in the hospital and drink a certain amount. He emphasizes the same after discharge: walking every day and drinking at least 64 ounces every day to prevent dehydration. He also is adament about all the post-op supplements such as protein powder, vitamins and minerals and during the orientation classes prior to surgery and the pre-op appts., he has the ancillary staff that you are meeting with review this with you thoroughly.

I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. DeWitt and his program to anyone. I was very satisfied and happy with him.

dr. dewitt and his staff have been super. it has been a looooong process. i have seen
(hold your breath) a nutritionist, a physical therapist, a pulmonologist, a cardiologist, the bariatric coordinator, a physo. oops! i mean a physiatrist (can't imagine how i got past him!!!!) i now have a surgery date (and gray hair).

enough joking around.. dr. dewitt & his staff are great. they are very through with the testing they do to make sure you are able to have the surgery safely. my surgery is scheduled for oct. 5, 2004. i feel confident that my surgery will go well, dr. dewitt has taken the time to ensure that i will, he didn't just slap me up on the table and take my insurance money. i believe he cares about me having a "good" surgery.

any negative stuff? well... i sure do hate to wait and thats a given when you have an appointment, wait...wait... but!!! i'd rather have somebody wait than have him rush through MY surgery!!!! (or rush me out when i do get to see him) so overall i'd give dr. dewitt a 10 out of 10. for me thats a high recommendation because i'm NOT one of those "jolly" fat people!!

My first impression of Dr. DeWitt was good, his staff was good also.I think Dr. DeWitt is very stright forward with his patients and he tell you that he will not do the surgery if you not going to go to the aftercare and he have a good afercare program. He told me about all the risks of the surgery.I have not had any negative thing with Dr. DeWitt yet.

He has great knowledge of not only the procedure itself but the after affects. I attibute this to the fact that he had this surgery himself a few years ago.

Same impression. Very knowledgeable and very easy to talk to.

Great office staff. Very friendly & helpful.

He is the greatest!

After care if extremely important.

Aftercare program is coordinated through Carraway Medical Center.

Very straight forward about the risks without being too "scary".

Both Great

My first impression of the surgeon...He was very polite, he listened very well, and was very informative in the initial visit. The risks of surgery were presented well. The office staff was great!

My opinion of Dr. DeWitt is even higher now! He is very blessed with a great ability to heal. He was able to perform a lap on me, and it wasn't easy! I am so thankful for him. Since surgery, I have heard more and more good about him. I believe he is the best choice for this operation, and I am very thankful that I was lead to him.

The most important thing Dr. DeWitt did for me was to involve other specialist in my care. I believe this speaks volumes on his integrity. He had the heart specilist, and medicine specialist, among others, to check in on me and give him their recommendations for care. I was very impressed.

I cannot think of anything negative to say about my experience with this doctor. He was simply marvelous, and continues to be so.

Dr. DeWitt seems to be a very concered doctor about his patients the over all care is a major factor with him he is open to all questions and will answer them so that you can understand the procedure.
The staff is very friendly and they are connected to the patients, he has a coordinator who had the surgery and she follows you through the process and checks on you through different stages of the surgery the insurance clerk is aware of everything going on and answers all your insurance questions and if she doens't know she will find out.

I haven't had the surgery yet so I can't say yet about the other things in question.
