I first 'met' Dr. Dewitt at his seminar, which is required before even seeing him for a surgery consult. He is so thorough and just a great guy and you can really tell that he wants to help people. When we went to his office, we really didn't have anymore questions for him. Also, you could tell he tries to stay very knowledgeable about everything in his practice; insurance coverage, precerts, and all the other challenges that we face during this process. He is very particular about your follow-up care and making sure you get nutrition counseling. He is very much the type of doctor that things this is only a TOOL for weight loss, not a quick fix. I would recommend him to anyone!!!He is great.

Dr. DeWitt is the greatest. I would recommend him to everyone and still feel that way. He always has time for you and has the best bed side manner. His office staff has always been helpful to me. All I can say for future patients of Dr. DeWitt's is that he is worth the wait. He emphasizes alot on the aftercare, he wants you to exercise regularly and take all of the vitamins. He had a well planned schedule of the weeks following the surgery. He goes over everything about the surgery and requires that you attend the seminars and support group meeting before surgery and recommends going to the 2 monthly support group meetings after the surgery. On a scale of 1 to 10 - Dr. DeWitt is a 10+.

Dr. DeWitt takes time to listen, even when the schedule is behind. He is just a regular guy--not like a lot of pretentious doctors.

My impression of Dr. DeWitt has not changed over the past months. He continues to be one of the most cordial doctors that I have ever met.

His staff is excellent. They know your name and are very concerned if there are any problems.

When you met Dr. DeWitt, be prepared for an upbeat doctor that is very approachable. Also, I was surprised about how young (and cute) he is.

The follow-up exams are routine. REMEMBER, you know your body better than anyone else. Ask questions and tell your doctor how you feel. Doctors (nor spouses) can read your mind. Each patient is different and will have different experiences. I had several complications, and made sure that I told Dr. DeWitt EVERYTHING. Sometimes what you are feeling is normal, but sometimes it could be a problem. Don't assume what you are going through is normal. ASK and then insist if you continue to feel there is a problem!!!

At the first visit, I viewed a video about the surgery. I had already done a lot of research and knew the risks. My mind was determined to have the surgery before my first visit. I didn't want to live the rest of my life as unhealthly as I was before the surgery.

I rate Dr. DeWitt a "10" both on his surgical competence as well as his bedside manner.

I loved him at first appointment and my impression only increased as time when on. He is interested in you and his staff is so very helpful and they will return your phone calls almost at once.

At this time there is Nothing that I don't like about Dr. DeWitt. He has a sense of humor and is very friendly and always happy.
He is also an Auburn fan for all you fans out there.
He is very strong and emphasizes after care. He has someone on his staff who conducts seminars before surgery and will be available after surgery for any questions, etc.
He was completely up-front with me on the risks of the surgery and when asked about his success rate, was quick to inform me of that.
I think I could Never have found a better doctor no matter how long I looked.

Dr. DeWitt is great at his surgical competence and his bedside manner was wonderful as was his entire staff.

DR Dewitt was the most wonderful Dr. He also has a kind word for his patients and he is also smiling. He takes time to talk to you and answer any question you have. I always had a list of question for him and he always took time to talk to me about my concerns. His office staff is also the best especially Ms. JUdy and MS Debbie. After I came home I had some problems and they always returned my call and tried to help me. Dr. Dewitt is very concerned about every patient he has and I felt very confident with him doing my surgery. He keeps a check on all of us after the surgery not just while he has us in the hosp. He has us returning for follow visit often and checks our labs very often. we are given instructions before the surgery and after we are dischared from the hosp. on what to do and eat. he expects of to follow the plan to the tee. he did discuss the surgery an risks with me and made sure i understood all of it. i felt very safe with Dr. Dewitt. he had done surgery on 2 of my friends and they did really well also. on a scale of 1-10, i give my Dr. Dewitt a 11. he is very competent and has a bed side manner to die for. he is also so cute, that is a plus also.

MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR.DEWITT IS THAT HE AND HIS OFFICE ARE VERY STRICT ABOUT WHO HE WILL PREFORM THE SURGERY ON ..HE IS MORE CONCERNED ABOUT A PATIENTS HEALTH AND WELL BEING THAN WITH THE SIZE OF THEIR WALLET ..I ENTERED INTO HIS PROGRAM AMIST SOME CHANGES SO THERE WERE SOME MINOR COMPLICATIONS WITH GETTING TEST DONE BUT ONCE EVERYTHING WAS STRAIGHTEND OUT THE REST WAS A BREEZE...HE HAS A WONDERFUL OFFICE STAFF THAT ACTUALLY CARES HE HAS A VERY IN DEMAND SERVICE SO EXPECT SOME TIME IN GETTING IN TO THE PROGRAM...OVERALL HE HIS A GREAT DOCTOR

First, let me say that Dr DeWitt has a class prior to an appointment with him. I think this is held on a monthly basis. The power point presentation gives a good overview of what the procedure is, and what to expect after. Based upon this class, if you decide this may be a surgery you want to further investigate, you can make an appointment. At the time, I was kind of aggrevated because this is not a quick process. But in looking back, I am glad, because this is LIFE changing surgery. It should be given alot of thought.
There is a very intense pre and post care plan that you must follow. It is pretty easy to follow. I feel comfortable enough with the staff to call the office and ask a question. I would use him again.
Of course, this is all my opinion.
