Dr. Dewitt was a very nice person. felt right at home talking with him and relaxed.
His office Staff was super. Everyone was just so nice to me and I really enjoyed my visit. I have a few things I have to tend to first before I get a surgery date but that's no problem. what ever it takes for me to regain my freedom of life back. I should have all those goals met before the end of this month.

5-16-03 Got my ok from Blue Cross.

5-19-03 Called Dr's office for a date on surgery. They gave me 5-26-03. yahoooo
Must start no sugars.

5-23-03 went to Nutition class, see Dr. Dewitt, and get preadmitions done w/blood work. Started liquid diet.

I HAVE JUST RECEIVED THE INITIAL PAPERWORK AND A PAMPLET FROM DR. DEWITT. I WILL BE MAKING AN APPOINTMENT FOR A CONSULT NEXT WEEK. I KNOW SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO USE DR. DEWITT AND THEY CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT HOW GREAT HE IS. I WILL LEARN FOR MYSELF AND LET EVERYONE KNOW WHAT I THINK.

Dr. DeWitt is very nice and full of personality. My husband went with me and
we both learned alot. I feel more at ease now that I have met Dr. DeWitt than I did before. I guess now I know more of what to expect. He took all the time we needed. As a matter of fact, I was his last patient of the day and we were there until 6:30. Judy is working on setting appts. for phyiactric eval. and nutritionalist. I also have a to have blood work done. Everything went great and now all we have to do is finish up the details and get approval from the insurance
company. Pray for me and wish me luck.

Met Dr DeWitt through my sister who had the surgery before I did. I heard nothing but good things from her, since I trust her judgement when it comes to doctors of this nature.

Was a very patient man, answered all my questions I had as well as gave me more information on the surgery and future of what to expect.

Pretty much an all around caring doctor from his office visits to his bedside manners while visiting me in the hospital. Personally I have directed alot of people who have inquired about who my doctor was in his direction.

If I had to do it again ... wouldn't hesitate to call upon his office again.

My first impression of Dr Dewitt was that he was very caring and concerned about my health. My impression of him only got better because he has the best bedside manner. Everyone in the office was great. They are very caring people. There was nothing that i disliked about Dr Dewitt. Fuhure patients should know that he is very up front. He tells it just like it is. He emphasizes after care very much, it is very important to listen to him. He does have a after care plan and you will do great if you follow it. Again he tell you everything up front and answers every question open and stright forward. I would rate Dr Dewitt on a scale from 1-10 an 10.5. Both his surgical competence and bedside manner were great.

My first impression of Dr. DeWitt was that he seemed a little distracted. He had an emergency surgery the morning I had my first consult appt. My appt was at 11:00 but did not see him until almost 4:00. My pre-op visit saw a more attentive dr. He seems to genuinely care about his patients. His staff has always seemed to be helpful. I think when I first turned in the forms that they didn't send them to the insurance company in a timely manner.

He is really upfront about the risks. I would rate him on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best , probably an 8.

The first time I meet Dr. Dewitt I knew he was the surgeon for me. He answered all my questions, all four pages and never once made me feel like he was in a hurry. He has a great sense of humor and a great smile that makes you automatically feel comfortable. After having my surgery I feel even more strongly about him as a doctor. I had my bypass surgery on Friday and on Sunday I started feeling bad. He didn't send me home as I'm sure most doctors would have. Instead he kept me and ran a test on me on Monday. At 4:00 Monday afternoon I had emergency surgery to repair a strangulated bowel in an umbilical hernia. I feel like he saved my life. He is a wonderful caring doctor. He came by to see me every day of the seven days I was in the hospital and most days more than once. I really know that he sincerely cares about his patients. The only downside to him at all is that his office staff is a little less than friendly and would not return calls, and often seemed overworked and were unable to answer questions.

Dr. Dewitt and his staff has always been very helpful to me. Pre-Op as well as post-op. I think he is very interested in after care. I had appointments at 2 weeks and 6 weeks post-op. He is making sure I am taking my vitamins and walking.

At the time of my surgery Dr. Dewitt had done over 400 LAP RNY. That is pretty impressive to me! So I think overall I would rate him and his staff a 9.75 out of a perfect 10!!!

My first impression of Dr. DeWitt was very good. He was very thorough explaining the procedure and asking me about my reason for wanting the surgery and what I was anticipating to gain (lose) from the surgery. He did not mind my questions and answered them all. I feel very confident in Dr. DeWitt, based on my observances and what I've heard about him from other people.

3/05/03 - My pre-op appt with Dr. DeWitt went well. He still rates very high with me. He always has answered any question I've had for him and is willing to take as much time as I needed with him.

The only complaints I have are that his office staff leaves a lot to be desired. I have not been given a proper appointment time yet (3 appts). Unless you get rude with them, they don't want to accomodate you. They have changed their procedures and when their change posed a scheduling conflict with a work trip, they were not willing to provide a solution .... I had to be very stern with them that I was not changing my surgery date and that they would just have to work me into the schedule since they had made the schedule changes. I don't like having to be so forceful, but it seemed to be the only way to work with them. I'm sure it will be worth it in the end. If I did not have so much confidence in Dr. DeWitt, this would have been a huge problem for me.

3/31/03 - after surgery, I still feel that Dr. DeWitt is a very talented surgeon. I have had a smooth time so far. My only complaint still is that his office staff has not told me an appointment time right yet. I went for pre-op consulting and tests and was told the wrong time for the ECHO & EKG tests. Luckily, the technicians were still there and able to do my tests. I live 2 1/2 hours away and would not have been too happy to have to drive back for tests again. I have a follow up visit on 4/3.

Dr. Andrew DeWitt is absolutely the BEST! He is a very nice person, with a great sense of humor. He takes time to answer the questions of his patients, no matter how in-depth or how trivial. He has, in my experience, been very honest and up-front. His pre-op patient instructions focus on physical and mental preparation for the procedure and the reduction of infection risks. He clearly explains all risks and doesn't make the patient feel pressured to proceed. He has a structured post-op program, allowing the patient to get the most nutritional value while adding foods slowly so that the pouch can heal. He specializes in Lap surgeries and does everything possible to avoid having to do the procedure "open" so that the patient can recover in the least amount of time. His bedside manner is great - but don't go in thinking you are going to lie on your butt and heal. He believes in getting you up walking as soon as you are able. His nurse Judy is also tops! I would recommend him to anyone considering WLS!

Before I went to Dr. Dewitt I was told he was an excellent doctor and everyone I had talked with were pleased. and after meeting with him,I knew I had made the right choice in choosing him to be my surgeon. He's a friendly man, who knows what he's doing. If I wasn't asking him questions, he was asking me. Very thorough.........Surgery date set for April 3rd.....
