I was in recovery for quite some time because the room was not ready for me and recovery did not have a bathroom so I had to use a bedpan (yuck), once I got into the room, the remote control, phone and lamp was broke, I was wide awake and wanted to read, watch t.v and talk to the many friends and family members that wanted to wish me well but was not able to do so. When I did ask for pain meds I was made to wait and when the NA came in to check my vitals I had to ask her again and she phoned the floor nurse who said "she forgot". I was there for one night, your poked and proded the entire time so it is not the most restful night you'll ever have but these folks are doing their jobs, I arrived alive and left the same way so I say a job well done for all involved.
