My first impression of Dr. Overcash was very positive. He walked into the office and greeted everyone that was waiting in the waiting room to see him. Once I entered to his office for the one-on-one he made me feel really comfortable because he allowed my husband and 1-year-old daughter to enter the room with me. He was very candid about the surgery procedures and explained everything in detailed even drawing on a piece of paper so that I can have a visual understanding of what he was explaining. He later explained, that the staff would provide all the necessary information needed for my insurance for approval. Dr. Overcash is very straightforward and does not hold any words no matter how strong they are. He explained the importance of aftercare and the need to get back to a regular routine ASAP. He expects for a two week leave from work and that's all..(hoping no complications take place). He provided a packet full of instructions and aftercare information.

I went for my office visit on Oct. 21. I called on a Friday and they had my visit on the following Monday,I was impressed with that. The office staff was very friendly and helpful..One thing I noticed was they all looked me in the eye when I was talking to them.

They very much addressed the risks, but at this point, I feel it is more risky to stay as I am. I haven't had my operation yet, today is Dec. 18, my w l s is scheduled for 1 4 06 If there is anything negitive to say, I wish they would have had the nutrition class sooner. He requires us to take this class before the operation. The class is on Tuesday and the wls is on Wednesday..Doesn't leave alot of time to get any supplies I need, befor the operation. I don't think I will feel much like shopping on Friday when I get out of the hospital.

I have had my wls. I have to say I am very pleased with the outcome. this is my one week out of surgery, and I am feeling almost as good as new.I have very little pain, no problems with throwing up or dumping...I guess my main complaint is what a boring diet...ha ha soup, yogart and pudding then reverse I think Dr. Overcash is a great Dr. .and I would be happy to recommend him to any one considering wls.

The date today is March 19. I have gone from 255 on Jan 4th 2006 to 205 today.
I am walking alittle over 1 mile a day, my back and hips no longer hurt.

I met Dr. Overcash during my husbands journey for WLS. He is very blunt and straight-forward, but also makes you feel at ease. He doesn't make you try to lose weight before he does surgery, just a 48 hr liquid diet to help shrink the liver before surgery. He also doesn't make you wait for surgery. He can have you in the hospital within a week after approval.

His staff is friendly and very helpful. His patients in the waiting room can't wait to talk about their surgery and praise him either.

I know that just before he took my husband into surgery, he asked him if he had all his affairs in order. GULP!!! That's when it hits you that this is serious. But then he gives you the chance to change your mind and the re-assurance that he will do everything possible to make the surgery come out successful.

He now has a nutritional class that you must attend. It was hard for me to make it since I live 2 hours away, but it was worthwhile. My hubby said that he wished it would have been available for him when he had his surgery.

I meet with Dr. Overcash. I find him very blunt and to the point, he doesn't suger coat anything. I like that in a surgeon. His staff is very friendly and knowledegable. They don't use answering machines, so when you call you get to talk to someone right then. Not 3 days later. Patrice at his office talks to you about the information you will need to get approved from the insurance company. She will make sure she has everything in order before sending it off to the insurance company. She keeps you updated very well, so you don't have to call the office to make sure they have everything. All in all I love his office and staff. Glad I picked him for my surgery. He has several support groups in the area.

Dr. O (Wm. Todd Overcash) does not pull any bunches, he tells you like it is. You know before you leave his office, that you could DIE from the surgery. But, that's what I liked about him. He is so straight forward with the good and the bad to WLS. His staff has always been helpful and timely returning my calls. Dr. O is big on exercise afterwards and highly recommends the support group. Most of his patients will tell you he doesn't have much of a bedside manner, but his surgical ability is what really counts. I personally find him funny and feel comfortable saying anything to him.

Seems to be a nice guy.
Stresses that he does not push the surgery on anyone. He states the possible downsides to surgery and lets you make the decision.

I had been warned that he was very abrupt but straigthforward. When I met him he was kind, very straightforward, and up front with the truth about surgery, benefits, complications and everything. I really liked him a lot. His staff was wonderful. Everyone was so nice and have been so helpful thus far especially Patrice. She is the WLS surgery scheduler. This office definitely gets a thumbs up from me!

I had heard a lot of talk about how Dr. Overcash was lacking in "bed-side manners." My mother accompanied me to my initial consultation and we were both impressed with him. He was very frank and forth-coming and did not try to "sugar-coat" any of the information but I would not call him rude or abrupt. If you are looking for someone to hold your hand and coddle you, then you need to find another doctor. Believe it or not, I did not see Dr. Overcash again until the morning of my surgery, which was about 4 months after the initial consultation. He was pleasant and upbeat. Needless to say, I do not remember much of the day of surgery... Dr. Overcash came in briefly the day after and again the day after that (which was my discharge date.) I have a follow-up appointment next Tuesday. The office staff is wonderful and always willing to answer questions and offer assistance.

Dr. Overcash is an excellent professional. I am so glad I pick him to change my life for ever. My first impression of him was that he was too direct. He did not sugar cote anything related with this procedure and the risks involved. I got a little scared bacause of that but at the sametime he make me realized that the decision that I was making was the correct one. It has been 1 year and 4 months since my surgery and he make me feel like I am his masterpiece. His office staff is excellent, they really care about you. I have no complaints whatsoever abou Dr. Overcash, he is the best. People sometimed ask me if I will doit again and YES, I will put my life in his hands anytime. He is the best...

Dr. Overcash seems great, I drove to Ocala from Jax not really knowing what to expect. I was there less then an hour before heading home. It is true that Dr. Overcash pulls no punches, he is very straight forward and really makes sure you understand that this is not the easy way out.
