Voravit Wongsa Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Very straight foward, personable, tells you he's not a plastic surgeon, he does this surgery for your health. His office staff is helpful,,esp Jackie. What I like most is I think he is a skilled surgeon,(I know a nurse at his hospital and she said his patients do great). I least like that it takes so long too get in to see him. He is very blunt about the risks and complications and tells you if you can't adhere to his plan after surgery. There are at least 2 people working for him that have had the surgery and are doing and looking great. He makes me feel better about not being able to lose weight byself by telling me that being over 100 pds overweight is pretty much genetic and theres not a whole like I can do to correct it on my own.

I met with Dr. Wongsa and he is straight to the point. We went over the surgery and what it entails before, during and after the operation. His entire staff was great from start to finish. I feel real secure in having him do the surgery.

I knew he was gonna be real with me.......and was he real. His office staff was very friendly one had surgery done by Dr. Wongsa and she was cheering me on saying go for it.

He was alright. He was very stern and very to the point about me having the surgery. He seemed like an ok doctor, and everything went ok while I was in surgery, but from what I can tell, he doesn't have a very good after care program, I wish there was a nutritionist I could see with him. Other than that he wasn't all bad.

First off, let me say I am a man and I really don't see many comments from men in here. Guys, if you can expect your wife to get healthier and better looking for YOU, you can do it also.
Well, as everyone had told me, he was really straight forward. That has not changed. The office staff are wonderful, Ruth, Dee and all the rest, thank you for everything.
What I like most about Dr. Wongsa is his being straight and to the point.
For you wishing to have the surgery, if you do have it, remember when they tell you to get out of bed and walk, DO IT!!!! It helps. I walked every hour on the second day, at least 3 laps around the floors.
I first went to see Dr. Wongsa in Oct. It took almost 2 months before my surgery. He had told me to try to lose at least 5 lbs. before my surgery, and knowing Thanksgiving would be in there, it would be hard. I did lose 3 lbs. before the surgery and it went as scheduled. It is almost time for my 3 month check-up, and I am down almost 80 lbs. so far. I have about 50 to go.
Dr. Wongsa would come by and see me every day, sometimes just once in the morning, but he always asked if all was fine and was the hospital taking care of it's business.
I would rate him very highly and would have the surgery again tomorrow if I needed it.

i have heard nothing but wonderful things about dr. wongsa. that includes people from the same field who know of his success rate- nurses and doctors. he has a wonderful reputation for being the best in houston.

the office staff has been wonderful, cy-fair hopsital has been just super in my pre-registration period. i dont think i have ran into one unpleasant person-it has been amazing.

I'm changing my statement about my surgeon.

When my friend Karen Reyes had her surgery and passed away, I was really mad at our doctor.

Now, I understand that surgeons are not perfect, either. Sometimes things go wrong and there is nothing to be done.

Dr. Wongsa is still an extremely capable surgeon and he did give me my life back!

Dr Wongsa was great. Everything I have read has been true. He did make it a point that this is not a tool and not to look at it like that. He was very to the point and made sure to answer all of my questions that he hadn't already answered while telling me about the surgery. My husband and I were both very pleased with him and feel confident in his work.

Dr. Wongsa is a very professional, sincere and straight-forward physician. He will answer any of your questions with the correct answer, not the answer you just want to hear. He is dedicated to improving his patient's lives and wellbeing. I am confidant of his skills and dedication to his profession.
