My surgeon is the Greatest. Dr. Marema, his wife, and his staff are all so caring and great helpers. Whenever I call the office with questions they were all so willing to help me. I know that I made a great desicion to put my life in his hands. The one thing I like is that Dr. Marema himself has had the surgery, so has his wife and half his staff. It is so great to have a Dr. know what you are going through. I thank god for making this surgery possible for me with one of the best surgeons around.
FIRST IMPRESSION:
He seemed very studious and serious. Over time, I figured out he really has a terrific, well a good sense of humor. I wasn't so comfortable at first but now I am and I know I will be well taken care of.
I have learned that through staff contact over a period of several months. His staff is a wonderfully, caring, receptive bunch.
RISKS OF SURGERY:
Both complications and possibility of death ARE addressed. Generally, most patients make it through without any problem.
SURGICAL COMPETENCE:
I am particularly impressed that I was told by a man who spent a month in intensive care because of complications, that the Doc showed up at midnight with a form in-hand, and told him, buddy, we have to go now (to surgery!!!) End of story? The guy lives happily ever after much slimmer and healthier, and getting married soon.
UNUSUAL SITUATIONS:
They always seem to be able to work around the problem.
On THE NEGATIVE SIDE:
I wish I could think of something negative to say. Maybe I will later. Like, the doc DIDN'T DO WHAT I WANTED HIM TO DO. Make it so that I can eat whatever I want as much as I want and still have a model-thin figure. Only in heaven, I suppose, and probably not even there. Just in my dreams!!!
1.My first impression of Dr. Marema was great he looked like he cared and has been in our shoes...
2.My impression of has not changed but its gotten better.
3.Oh, MY GOD what can I tell you about his staff they are on top of the hole entire process and there always happy to help out with anything.
well these are som of the comments that I have over the surgeon and the staff you have to deal with them to actually grasp what the hell I'm writing about them there awesome the best!!!!!!!!!
I already knew of Dr. Marema before pursuing this surgery as my best friend had already undergone a procedure with him. She held him in the highest esteem and found him extremely qualified. After meeting him at the orientation and at the support group, and after having my pre-op appointment with him, I trust him and his staff completely. I have the utmost respect for him and feel I am in the hands of a very talented person. His staff is also very nice and helpful - always willing to help with anything they can and very available to answer questions. Dr. Marema is very thorough and has very structured pre-op and post-op programs. After speaking with many patients of Dr. Marema, I rate him very highly. I know he is extremely well qualified to do the surgery, and judging from the few times I've spoken with him, I imagine Dr. Marema would have an excellent bedside manner.
Dr Robert Marema along with his entire staff is a wonderful and highly gifted surgean. His staff is well trained and many have had the surgery so they no where we come from. After care and diet is very inportant to them. Dr Maremas wife Rita is even on line with supprt.I feel that he has great surgical abilitys and as for bedside manner it depends on how busy he is. But i never left his office felling my needs were not met.
What a nice man! I went to the informational meeting 10/30/00. About 25 people there plus the Dr. and his staff. Excellent information and a wonderful sense of humor.I am very impressed by the staff. Caring and kind (the way it should be) but, isn't always. The Dr.'s follow up program of support group meetings, diet, excersise are emphasized greatly. I know I have made the right decision in selecting Dr. Marema as my surgeon.
Dr. Marema is a tall and elegant gentleman with a good sense of humor. I met him last Sunday here in the Orlando area. He was here with his office team and I had the chance to complete the informational, the educational and the support group meeting in one day.A long day but it's better thatn going to Ft. Lauderdale 3 times! 'll tell you more about Dr Marema after I see him in his office. I don't have an appoinment yet. He had the surgery done by Dr Fobi in California and shared part of
His office staff was also very infomative and answered all our questions. I met Karen, who's processing my insurance request and their newest nurse who came from the unit at Holy Cross Hospital where my surgery will be.
I can't remember her name but she was great.
They emphasized the fact that whoever you choose should have a team approach. Dr. Marema also stressed aftercare. He will be my doctor forever.
I will let you know about his overall rate after I'm on the other side.So far he's a 10.
I changed from Dr. Liem in Lake Worth because I felt his office staff was rude. I met with Dr.
Marema and was really pleasantly surprised at the difference in his office staff. Dr.
Marema is very easy to speak to as is his staff. In addition he is at support group meetings both in
Ft. Lauderdale and Tampa. He also conducts informational meetings once a week. He has
had the surgery himself along with the women in his office. Their before and after pictures were
awesome. He follows his patients for at least two years and has structured visits as well as
the monthly support groups. He addressed all aspects of surgery both during my visit and at the
informational meeting. Other people who have had him as a surgeon rate him very highly. He even
gives his patients his beeper number and home phone number. I got approved thru Cigna PPO in less
than 3 weeks. I am going to an educational seminar on Tuesday and will re-file with Cigna thru
Dr. Marema's office.
My first impression of Dr. Marema was a good one. He is a very kind person, he is very compassionate about his job, he really cares for his patients. Dr. Merema is not in it for the money, he is in this practice to get each and every indiviual healthy again.
His office staff are great bunch of people, they all have the best patience.
Dr. Marema really emphasize's about aftercare, it is a must that you attend all of the support group meetings 100%. You must eat all proteins until you lose 75% of your weight and drinks lots of water. Overall I would give Dr. Merema a ten, along with his staff. I would like to Thank You guys for answering all of my questions and concerns.
