I. Michael Leitman Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

I met Dr. Leitman 3/19/03. I was impressed with the way he handled the appointment, taking care to examine me and explain all the procedures, risks, and what to expect. I like his personality and his bedside manner. I did extensive research about the surgery and one of his patients had referred me to him (THANK YOU PAULA) and what to expect. After he examined me, he told me I was a good candidate for the surgery, and that it was my decision. After all my research, I felt at a loss for questions. I kept thinking or reaching for questions that I should be asking to keep the dialogue going and that I was very interested. I felt a little embarrassed, but he put my at ease. I had made a decision already, and I told Dr. Leitman that I wanted to start the process leading to the operation. I have very bad arthritis in my knees and my primary and orthopedic doctor both agree that the loss of weight will help me immensely. I want the ability to move about freely and with less pain. This was a factor in my decision. Joan, the office manager is wonderful. She reminds me of an assistant I had. Great personality and seems very efficient. In all, my first impression of Dr. Leitman is a 10 out of 10.

my first meeting with dr. leitman was great he took his time in explaining everything to me about the surgery.he also made sure that all my questions were answered and made me feel very comfortable with my decision for the surgery.i definetly trust him in doing my surgery.his staff is very helpful they also take the time to return your calls and answer any questions you may come up with during your waiting period before surgery.

WELL,THE THING IS I CALLED HIS OFFICE ON FEB 7,2003,AND STILL IM WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO CALL ME BACK.AND IT KNOW FEB THE 11 AND JOAN STILL HASN'T CALLED. I REALLY WISH THEY COULD SPEED UP THE PROCESS BECAUSE I AM VERY IMPATIENT AND ANXIOUS TO GET THIS ON THE BALL.



THINGS ARE LOOKING UP,Feb 18,2003 JOAN FINALLY CALLED ME AND SET A DATE FOR ME TO COME IN FOR A CONSULATATION AND IM VERY PLEASE. SHE SEEMS REALLY NICE BUT I HOPE ALL GOES WELL WITH MY INSURANCE,BECAUSE THE INSURANCE I HAVE IS THE WORSE.

From the first time that I met Dr. Leitman with a friend until now I think that he is a wonderful man. He was very relaxing and answered all my questions......even the ones that I thought were crazy. Dr. Leitman emphasized the risk with the surgery with ease. It didn't make me feel frightful. Joan and Stacy are wonderful. They make you feel like you are not just a patient, but a friend. I would rate all of them a 10+++ if there is such a thing. The aftercare is stressed for your safety and recovery. You are reminded of do's / don'ts and that you can call the office anytime there is a problem. I would recommend Dr. Leitman with great pleasure.

I must say my surgeon Dr. Leitman is fantastic! He is kind, caring, and skilled. He truly is the best. My impression f him only gets better as time goes on.

I initially felt very comfortable with Dr. Leitman and over time I can say he is an excellent surgeon and a wonderful person. He is very concerned about his patients and never makes you feel rushed. Joan in his office is an angel and is very knowledgeable about the surgery and it's complications. Both of them are always there for you.

dr leitman is a caring and sensative doctor who really cares about his patiens. He is dedicated to what he does and i think that is great. He answers all your questions and makes himself avalible to you if any questions that arise in the future. I would reccomend Dr leitman to anyone who is thinking of this surgery.

Dr. Leitman was absolutely wonderful and made me feel very comfortable. My impression of him is still the same as before. His office staff was very friendly and cooperative with my every need. They made me feel welcome when deep down I was really scared. If you want a good doctor go and see this guy. He really is great. Ever hear the saying that "First impressions stay with you throughout your life"? Well, he gave me a good first impression. He was very honest with me about the risks of surgery and did not leave a thing out. I was very comfortable with that. He does see you through your hospital stay and after. On a scale from one to ten he would get a 100 from me. And I love Joan the office manager. She is such an angel. When I call she is always there to answer my questions. Go see this guy. It is well worth it.

When I first met Dr. Leitman , I was very nervous. my wife and I travelled into Manhattan for the first appointment.@ Lenox Hill Hospital.Him and his office staff were a little scary at first but over time they grew on me.I realized that the best way to go about this was to keep in touch with the doctor and his staff. He and his staff were very good about keeping my wife and I informed about the risk of surgery, and other aspects to the surgery. And when i had problems with my PCP Dr leitmans angel Joan was there to help with whatever questions I needed answered.
