My impression of Dr. Reines, was wonderful,,,I was inthe medical profession for 20 yrs. (radiology/OR/ICU) and have lots of experience with physicians. I was immeidately put at ease by his staff. I had my psch. eval. and nurtition eval on all the same day. Dr Reines answered all my questions and then some..I fel truly comfortable there..The only thing I am upset about is the wait for the surgery. I am scheduled for August but asked to be put on the cancellation list. Hopefully Iwill get thru this sooner. Aftercare, is a very important aspect in his practice..I s told I have become a patient for life..I like this guy..LOL
My first impression of Dr. Reins was a very positive one. He made me feel so comfortable and he was very informative,He was great, every one in the office was very nice. The sad thing is he has moved to Virginia, he comuted for 2 years from Virginia to Massachusetts. He or his partner was always on call if I had any problems. He was so caring, and thorough, he was the most reasuring Dr. I have ever encountered! He is just the best. The only problem was getting an appointment,The wait was over a month for my first consultation, and then 4 months for surgery. I had a few post op problems and he was quick to call me back.
My first impression of Dr. Reines was that he was
a serious, no jokes kind of guy! Boy was I wrong!
He is a wonderful man who takes the time to listen
to you and help you understand any concerns you may have.
His office staff has to be the BEST in the world. I
have NEVER felt so loved, supported, and comfortable
in any Doctor's office like I feel at Newton
Wellesly Obesity Center! I was very sad when
Dr. Reines left NWH to move to VA at the end
of September. I just hope he knows what a difference
he has made in MANY lives here in MA. He was replaced
with a WONDERFUL Doctor named Dr. Pablo Gazmuri.
7/11/01: I just had my first meeting today with the surgeon. Unfortunately he is moving in October but his partner was very nice also, Dr. Bruce Thayer. I got lucky and got put on the cancelation list, my first appoinment wasn't supposed to be until 9/26/01. But I got the phone call yesterday to come to the office today and it was super. The whole staff was Great. Even the patients waiting in the office were happy and wondeful. Most were post-op, and they had nothing but great things to say. They all looked and felt wonderful!! Everyone I saw in the office today was very informative and caring. I saw the dietician, psycologist, nurse assitant, and both surgeons. I am very happy with my choice of hospitals. But now I have to wait... It will be about 1 week before they can get me a surgery date (I asked for the cancelation list for that also ) and then who knows how long before I get an answer form my insurance. But I think I have them cornered for sure. I have my heart filled letter I wrote, a letter from my PCP and one from my OB/GYN, plus all the information my surgeon will supply!! I can only pray at this point!................................
HE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND GOT DOWN TO THE POINT ANSWERED ALL OF MY QUESTIONS AND IS VERY KIND AND CONSIDERATE. FROM OFFICE STAFF TO DIETICIAN AND THEY WERE ON TOP OF THINGS AND VERY NICE AND AFFECTIONATE. YOU GET TO SEE A VIDEOTAPE ON THE SURGERY ITSELF AND THE BENEFITS AND RISKS SO YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR GETTING INTO. THEN WHEN YOUR THROUGH YOU GET YOUR PICTURE TAKEN AND MAKE YOUR FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENTS. THEY MAIL YOUR SURGERY DATE.

I was very impressed with Dr. Reines. Everyone in his office was kind and helpful.
I had an initial appointment for 3 hours. I saw a dietician and a psychologist also. They were up front and honest at all times. In my meeting with Dr. Reines he gave me all of the pros and cons of this surgery. He did not sugarcoat it at all. I appreciated his honesty and caring attitude. They have support groups that meet twice monthly and all pre op patients must attend at least one.
All risks of surgery were addressed and he made sure that I understood that this is a tool for weight loss, not the magic bullet.
I would rate Dr. Reines excellent overall at this point in my progress. I feel that surgical competence is best, but I also want someone to be nice to me after surgery!
My first impression of Dr.Reines was not a good one but that was so usual for me I didn't trust any doctors.I went to my appointment with my husband and i was only in there for a few minutes and I was quite at ease with Dr. Reines he listened very carefully and talked to me not at me he made me feel very comfoprtable.I was not rushed in and out of the office he took all the time i needed. The whole office staff was very welcoming
