I DROVE 2 1/2 HOURS TO MEET DR FALLANG. I HAD SPOKEN TO MUCH OF HIS STAFF LONG BEFORE I MET HIM. MY HUSBAND AND I WENT TO HIS INFORMATION SESSION WHICH LASTED ABOUT 3-4 HOURS. IT WAS WONDERFUL. HE ALSO HAD A SLIDE PRESENTATION WHICH WAS VERY INFORMATIVE. WE LEFT THERE WITH ALL OUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED. DR FALLANG CAME AND SAT WITH MY HUSBAND AND I FOR SOME TIME GIVING ME THE ONE ON ONE THAT I NEEDED. HE IS A VERY CAREING AND COMPASSIONATE PERSON. I FELT VERY COMFORTABLE KNOWING THAT HE WOULD BE THE ONE WITH MY LIFE IN HIS HANDS. HE SEEMS TO CARE ABOUT THE PERSON AND THE PROBLEM. SINCE SURGERY I HAVE DRIVEN BACK TO OHIO TO SEE HIM 3 TIMES. I AM NOW 3 1/2 MONTHS POST OP AND HE STILL GIVES ME THE TIME I NEED IN MY VISITS WITH HIM. HIS STAFF IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE OF THE PROCEDURE BECAUSE MOST OF THEM HAVE HAD THIS RNY ALSO. THAT MAKES IT NICE IF YOU JUST HAVE A SIMPLE QUESTION. I WOULD TRAVEL WEEKLY TO SEE A PHYSICIAN THAT GIVES ME HIS TIME AND CARES ABOUT HIS PATIENTS THE WAY DR FALLANG DOES.
AS FOR WHICH I FEEL IS BETTER SURGICAL COMPETENCE AND OR BEDSIDE MANNER, WELL I FEEL DR FALLANG HAS BOTH. HE HAS A WONDERFUL BEDSIDE MANNER. IF YOUR IN THE AREA OR NOT AND YOU CAN ATTEND HIS INFORMATION SESSION AND SEE FOR YOURSELF, HE REALLY CARES.
Worried I mean you don't just want anyone cutting you open.
He was very honest in his presentation, very nice and well educated.
Very nice, even though they are busy they still help you.
I didn't like that fact that there isn't enough staff and time to call you back.

doctor fallang was great all around, my impression never changed.he recieves a 10 from me.he covered everything with me and his staff was fantastic even 10 months after surgery.
I FINALLY MET WITH DR. FALLANG AND HIS WONDERFUL STAFF LAST WEEK. THEY HAVE BEEN BEYOND PROFESSIONAL. I HAVE RECENTLY MOVED HERE FROM CHICAGO, ILLINOIS AND THEY WORKED WITH ME EVERY STEP OF THE WAY TO MAKE SURE THAT I WAS APPROVED AND THAT I GOT A DATE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
AFTER THINKING ABOUT THIS SURGERY AND RESEARCHING IT FOR OVER 2 YEARS, I CANNOT BELEIVE IN 19 DAYS I WILL BE UNDER THE KNIFE.

I like him, he's thorough and blunt while still having a good sense of humor. He seems to really care about improving the health of obese people. He gives a VERY detailed 4.5 hour info session where he does everything short of opening somebody up to go over the surgery step by step.
I attend an info session that Dr. Fallang has once a month. It was extremely informative. He covered every aspect of the surgery, pre-op and post-op, completely. I was very impressed with his thoroughness and committment to quality work. He was very careful to explain why he does the surgery exactly the way he does and his reasoning for each step. His office staff is a little less on-the-ball than the doctor. But I think that may be due to such a high volume of patients. But overall, they have been very helpful. Dr. Fallang's office submits the insurance forms for you and they are very aware of what documentation each insurer wants so that the process doesn't drag on just because you need more paperwork. So I am now waiting.....
I haven't met Dr. Fallang yet. I have my
group session with him on May 17th. That is
when I will find out all about the surgery.
I can say that the people in his office are
wonderful. Rhonda has stayed on top of my
case like a trooper. She was even in the
office early one morning and called me to get
some information. They seem to be people who
care so much about their patients. When I
told her I was really scared, she was really
sympathetic and even stayed on the phone and
talked to me for awhile, even though she was
really busy. I will post more after I meet
Dr. Fallang. I just wish I could meet with
him one on one before the surgery, but I
understand that since Carney Wilson had her
surgery they have been really busy.
My first impression of him was very good. He seemed knowledgeable and understanding. The office staff was very friendly and helpful. Post op he addressed any concerns and appeared concerned about any problems. I would rate him a 10 thus far, I am only one week post op.
I first met Dr. Fallang at his information session in January 2001. He had come highly recommended by three of my coworkers for his excellent work. My initial impression of him was that he was extremely knowledgeable and very thorough. The 2 1/2 hour session became a 4 hour session. He took time at the end to answer individual questions even though he had run past schedule. He addressed all risks and complications associated with the open ended roux en y and encouraged everyone to decide for themselves if the risks associated with surgery outweighed the risks of staying obese. He places emphasis on aftercare and the process is fairly structured. His office staff is wonderful. They worked diligently with me for insurance approval and I would rate Dr. Fallang and his office staff as a 9 out of a possible 10.
