My first impression of him was very good.
As time went by impression hasn't changed.
His office staff were very nice and friendly.
After one visit there is nothing I dislike about him.
He was very friendly, nice, helpful in answering all my questions, he made me feel relaxed and at ease.
Very much so, and also support groups.
I believe we did discuss that and many other things, I was also given some reading material on aftercare.
We spoke about it and I also was a tape that discussed it.
I'd would rate him after one visit as Excellent.

I met the surgeon Dr. Hixson he was so nice I though. He answered all the question I had he let me see the taped of the the surgery I thought I was got to fall out but he kept it all real for me so that made me feel good. The staff was so nice and they make you feel like everthing is going to be alright.

I met Dr. Hixon when my good friend had RNY. I felt that he was skilled, pleasant, well-trained, well-educated, etc. and decided to choose him as my surgeon.
I have met him several times with my friend -- my turn will be July 11th when I get to meet hime for ME.
My impression of Dr. Hixon remains the same. His staff is also just great. Rachel always returns my calls. She has never made false promises, she delivers what she says she will. She won't take bribes to better your surgery date (LOL).
Dr. Hixon sends his patients to Dr. Burrowes support group - he also performs surgeries, etc. in conjuction with Dr. Burrowes, and uses the FOBI pouch with the RNY surgery. The aftercare program is not structured, but it is improving, and the group is growing to include plastic surgeons, etc.
I would say that Dr. Hixon's surgical competence is superior to his bedside manner, but ...
My initial consult with Dr. Hixon went well. He was extremely informative and even drew pictures to show me what he would actually be doing when performing the surgery. He went over different revision surgery options and explained why he thought that the fobi would be best for me. I explained to him my concerns about regaining weight due to the fact that I am having a revision and he gave me step by step details as to what he would be doing different from the initial surgeon. I am extremely confident in my choice of surgeon and look forward to having my RNY revision on 6/01/09.
