After almost a three hour wait in the doctors office, I finally met with Dr. Ferrari. He seems to be a very gentle and concerned person. He answered all my questions honestly, even to the point of I would be in EXTREME pain!!! How many doctors would tell you that??? We discussed the benefits versus the risks of the surgery, and what reasonable results I could expect.
The office personnel were really nice and seemed to be interested in you as a person and not a insurance number. They were gentle, quiet and inquisitive. I have been to other consultations and so far this office staff and doctor have treated me with the utmost respect.
We did not talk much about aftercare in this meeting, but from what I understand that is a VERY important structure in the success of the surgery.
All in all I am still very nervous and scared of the procedure due to my extremely low pain threshold.
Dr. Ferrari is great! He takes the time to
listen and answer your questions. It was very easy to get an appt. with him and his
office staff is great. Any problems that i've
had Banca quickly solved.
Dr Ferrari is a very calm man, he sat back and listen to everything I had to say and answered all my questions with what I believe to be a lot of knowledge. As of now, I highly recommend him. I'll let you know after my surgery if I still feel the same way. The office staff is wonderful, I spoke a lot with Carla. She is super and has always made me feel very comfortable. Dr Ferrari really believes in the aftercare program, and NeWeigh does have one. He did address the risk of surgery, and I am aware that there are always risks when having surgery. The worst part about seeing him is the wait, but over all I feel that he is a good doctor.
My surgeon will be Carlos Ferrari. He is affiliated with NeWeigh in Houston. I am definitely impressed with his dedication to helping the morbidly obese, and his knowledge of gastric-bypass procedures. He has performed thousands of these operations in his 20 years of experience as a surgeon, and he came highly recommended to me. Dr. Ferrari addressed the risks of this surgery in a very no-nonsense, but balanced way. I'm also encouraged by the fact that his daughter has had the RNY procedure and is doing very well.
NeWeigh is such a blessing. I don't know how anyone gets through all the insurance nonsense without these caring and wonderful people. When you sign up with NeWeigh, you get an automatic support system for life. There's not a situation or complication or problem that someone on staff or in the support group hasn't dealt with, and they are most definitely willing to share their experiences with you. God bless these angels.
My first impression of Dr. Ferrari was a good one. I did not have to wait long to see the doctor. He answered all of my quesions. He did stress about the risk factors. I also liked his office staff. Blanca has been so helpful.
I have met with Dr.Ferrari only once so far
and I was very impressed. He is a very
nice man, he took the time to answer my
questions and ordered numerous tests. I
wasn't sure why at first until I saw some of
the results. I have problems I never knew
about before. He is very thourough, and
I know it is for my own good. He isn't
taking any chances. I trust him very much, after all my life is in his hands. I highly
recommend him as a surgeon and Dr.
My first impression was ,he seems very intelligent,very caring,down to earth and he wanted me to ask questions, so naturally everything I could think I did ask.His staff are also wonderful too.Everyone in the office talked to me ,even the patients spoke with me.I felt like I had come upon family.I never had met these people in my life and they took me in.They really made me feel welcome.
9/25/01 Meet with Dr Ferrari. He was very understanding to me needs. Answered all questions completely. Wanted to make sure that I understood that the surgery was a life changing procedure not a cure for my obesity. The staff at NeWeight were very Friendly. I truly recomend a visit to NeWeigh especially if you are unsure.
2-01I meet Dr.Ferrari through NeWeigh. The NeWeigh office staff was very friendly and helpful. Dr. Ferrari was quiet but ready to answer any questions. He prescribed a blood work up and a clearance from a cardiologist as I had taken Phen-fen in the past. Nothing was mentioned about aftercare but I suppose that will come later as I know they have a program. 9-01 I attended their aftercare program for about 4 weeks. It was a long way to travel and I found a closer one. I still see Dr. Ferrari for my check-ups. I have confidence in his abilities as a surgeon. His post-op plan makes the most sense to me. Liquids to soft solids to solids gradually to give your insides time to heal and swelling to reduce. He doesn't set unrealistic goals for his patients. But I would rather know what my bloodwork said instead of only hearing if there is a problem. So far I am pleased with Dr. Ferrari and the NeWeigh staff.
