My first impression of Dr. Nohr was impressive. He was very professional, courtious and very "to the point" which I feel is important in a scenario such as this. As I meet more and more of his post-ops through support group, I am finding him to be a very reputable surgeon and I am glad I am recieving surgery from him. Karen, his nurse, is very nice, soft spoken as Dr. Nohr is as well and very helpful. There is not really anything I dislike about him at this time as he seemed very informative. He did not mention too much on the aftercare, but did explain everything that would happen after the surgery (ie. hospital care, check ups, and blood work). They do not have a structured aftercare program (follow up appointments is all that I know of right now and regular visits with my GP). He went over all the risks of this type of surgery and I basically already knew from all my research prior to my consultation. Any future patient should know that Dr. Nohr does like seeing patients who do their homework. Someone told me that of him before my consult, and he seemed impressed that I had done my research and asked very valid questions to him (at least it seemed like he was-lol). I rate Dr. Nohr a 10/10, and both his competence and bedside manner are awesome.

Wonderful caring person, really cared about me as an individual.
Not at all, he is still the same.

Good.

Nothing.

He will really take great care of you.

Not a great deal.

Yes but it is too far away to attend.

In detail, showing charts etc.

Great.

Both.

I met with Dr. Nohr yesterday in Medicine Hat what a wonderful Doctor. He is very quite and you really have to listen to him in order to hear him. I found him to be very kind and understanding to a person's situation. He explained the procedure very clearly along with the risks and the pro's and the con's to this surgery. He was very clear to explain that this is major surgery and was a tool for me to do the work. Karen his nurse is the kindest woman I have met she is very busy lady and yet still finds the time to be pleasant and kind. Over all I was very pleased with my visit it was worth the seven hour drive.

*****Dr Nohr was exceptional through out the hospital and after hospital care. He was there everyday at 7:30AM to see me even on Sunday. What a wonderful Man.....

Dr Nohr was at first very direct...as I have a history of heart disease. His first question to me was "what makes you think with your heart condition you will qualify for this surgery". I replied " well I had majory surgery a few mths back removing an overy with a turmor and I pulled through great!" He was happy that my cardiologist would testify that my heat problems would not be an issue. As many have said, Dr Nohr is very quiet spoken (not so great for the hearing impaired..lol) but he was very gracious, kind, compassion and understanding. He explains well and asked if I had questions (like the fact that he didn't rush me!). Be prepared to wait, as my office appointment wait time was about 1 hour. But well worth it. The wait times for consult are about 1 to 14 mths, then surgery about the same.

The nurse (Karen) was great. I am scheduled to go to Medicine Hat for a Gastroscope (Look in the Stomach) on Apr. 2, 2004. I will meet Dr. Nohr then.

I found Dr.Nohr very pleasant. He was very quiet and I had to really listen to everything he said. He was interested in how much I knew about the surgery and what types of support that I would have once the surgery was done. He was very informative at the support meeting that I attended. He was good at the hospital and enjoyed his short visits. I look forward to seeing him again in future appointments.

Dr. Nohr was awesome.....but very quiet. I was very impressed with him. Karen...his nurse was very nice as well...I only had to wait about 10 minutes before getting into see him too so that was cool!! Word of advice...anyone going to see him, let him know that you can come in if there is a cancellation!!! I got a call a day after my consult with a appointment a week away.
Dr. Nohr Rocks!!!

My first impression of Dr. Nohr was that he was a quiet and very professional man.
He was great about answering all questions, and since my mom was with me, she had a lot and he was very patient with her. I generally found him to be a really neat guy. I'm not sure how else to put it. He is very professional, yet he also takes the time to simply chat away.
His nurse Karen was really nice.
All in all, I really like Dr. Nohr, and there is no other surgeon I would trust my life with.

Very compassionate. Made me go home for a few months to try again to lose weight and think about it. His nurse is wonderful and a real angel. Since surgery is still 6 months away we haven't really gotten into all the aspects of it as yet.
Mar 28/03 - Surgery over two weeks ago. Dr, Nohr was very good to me after surgery, very quiet but very caring and answered any questions I had. Haven't been in to see him since released from hospital - his nurse took out the staples and the gn tube. She is a sweetie.
